Work Text:

Sunoo had always been different. From a young age, he had discovered a gift that no one else possessed—a gift that set him apart from the rest of the world. Sunoo was a wizard, the only one of his kind, born into a world where magic existed only in fairy tales. He had learned to harness his powers over time, keeping them hidden from everyone, including his closest friends.

Living a life of secrecy wasn’t easy. Sunoo had grown accustomed to concealing his abilities, carefully avoiding situations where his magic might slip out. He could summon flames with a flick of his fingers, levitate objects with a thought, and even brew potions that could bend reality to his will. But the most difficult thing to hide was the one thing he couldn’t control—his feelings for Sunghoon.

Sunghoon was everything Sunoo was not. He was confident, popular, and effortlessly charming. The star of their school’s ice skating team, Sunghoon was admired by everyone. He was the type of guy who drew people in with his easygoing smile and warm presence, and Sunoo was no exception. Over the years, Sunoo had fallen hopelessly in love with him, but he had never found the courage to confess his feelings.

His magic made it impossible to be normal around Sunghoon. What if he lost control in a moment of vulnerability? What if Sunghoon found out and rejected him, not just because of his feelings but because of his powers? Sunoo couldn’t bear the thought of losing Sunghoon’s friendship, so he kept his emotions—and his magic—carefully guarded.

But there was one thing Sunoo couldn’t resist. In the privacy of his room, hidden from the world, Sunoo allowed himself to experiment with his magic in ways that brought him closer to Sunghoon, even if only in fantasy. He spent countless nights crafting spells and potions, concoctions that could make the impossible possible. And one day, he made a love potion.

The potion was meant to be nothing more than a foolish indulgence, a way to cope with the feelings he could never express. Sunoo never intended for anyone to drink it, least of all Sunghoon. The vial containing the shimmering pink liquid sat on his desk, a secret reminder of his unspoken love. He would never use it, he told himself. It was just a way to feel closer to Sunghoon, a small act of rebellion against the loneliness that came with hiding so much of himself.

But fate, it seemed, had other plans.

---

The day started like any other. The crisp autumn air blew through the schoolyard as Sunoo made his way to class, his thoughts drifting to the upcoming winter dance. It was the highlight of the year, and students were already buzzing with excitement. Sunoo, however, felt a pang of anxiety. He knew he wouldn’t have the courage to ask Sunghoon to the dance, not with everything he was hiding.

As he entered the classroom, he noticed Sunghoon sitting at his desk, surrounded by his usual group of friends. Sunghoon looked up and waved, flashing Sunoo a smile that made his heart skip a beat.

“Hey, Sunoo!” Sunghoon called out, his voice warm and inviting.

“Hi, Sunghoon,” Sunoo replied, trying to keep his voice steady.

Sunoo sat down at his desk, but he couldn’t concentrate on the lesson. His mind kept wandering to Sunghoon, to the potion sitting on his desk at home. He imagined what it would be like to give it to Sunghoon, to see him drink it and fall in love with him. But that was just a fantasy. Sunghoon would never feel the same way, not without the potion’s influence. And even then, Sunoo couldn’t do that to him. It wouldn’t be real.

After class, Sunghoon caught up with Sunoo as they walked to their next period.

“Sunoo, do you have any plans for the weekend?” Sunghoon asked casually.

“Not really,” Sunoo replied, his heart racing at the thought of spending time with Sunghoon.

“I was thinking of practicing some new moves at the rink,” Sunghoon said. “Would you like to come watch? It’s always more fun with someone cheering me on.”

Sunoo blinked in surprise. Sunghoon had never asked him to come to his practices before.

“Sure, I’d love to,” Sunoo said, trying to keep the excitement out of his voice.

“Great! I’ll see you there on Saturday,” Sunghoon said, smiling brightly before heading off to his next class.

Sunoo watched him go, his heart fluttering with a mixture of hope and dread. Maybe this was a sign, a chance to finally tell Sunghoon how he felt. But the thought of revealing his feelings—and his magic—filled him with fear. No, he couldn’t risk it. He would just have to enjoy the time with Sunghoon as a friend.

That evening, Sunoo returned home, his thoughts still swirling with the day’s events. He walked into his room and froze. The vial containing the love potion was gone.

Panic surged through him as he frantically searched his room. It was nowhere to be found. Sunoo’s mind raced, trying to remember if he had moved it or hidden it somewhere else, but he knew he hadn’t. Someone had taken it.

“Who could have…” Sunoo’s voice trailed off as a terrible realization struck him. There had been only one other person in his room recently—Sunghoon.

---

Saturday arrived far too quickly, and Sunoo found himself standing outside the ice rink, his heart pounding in his chest. He hadn’t been able to sleep the night before, his mind consumed with worry about the missing potion. If Sunghoon had taken it—and worse, if he had drunk it—what would happen?

Sunoo took a deep breath and walked into the rink, trying to push the anxiety aside. Sunghoon was already on the ice, gliding effortlessly across the surface with a grace that took Sunoo’s breath away. For a moment, he forgot his worries, lost in the beauty of Sunghoon’s movements.

Sunghoon spotted Sunoo and skated over to him, a bright smile on his face. “You made it!” he said, his voice full of excitement.

“Of course,” Sunoo replied, forcing a smile. “I wouldn’t miss it.”

They spent the next hour together, with Sunghoon showing off his latest moves and Sunoo cheering him on from the sidelines. Sunoo tried to act normal, but his mind kept drifting back to the missing potion. He watched Sunghoon carefully, searching for any sign that something was wrong, but Sunghoon seemed as carefree and happy as ever.

When they finally took a break, Sunghoon skated over to the bench where Sunoo was sitting and plopped down beside him, a satisfied grin on his face.

“That was amazing, Sunghoon,” Sunoo said, genuinely impressed. “You’re incredible out there.”

“Thanks, Sunoo,” Sunghoon said, his eyes sparkling. “It means a lot to have you here.”

Sunoo’s heart skipped a beat at the sincerity in Sunghoon’s voice. He wanted so badly to believe that Sunghoon’s feelings were real, that they weren’t the result of the potion. But he couldn’t shake the nagging doubt in his mind.

As they sat together, Sunghoon suddenly turned to Sunoo, his expression serious. “Sunoo, can I ask you something?”

Sunoo’s stomach twisted in knots. “Of course,” he said, trying to keep his voice steady.

Sunghoon hesitated for a moment before speaking. “Do you believe in magic?”

The question caught Sunoo off guard. He stared at Sunghoon, unsure of how to respond. Did Sunghoon know? Had he somehow discovered Sunoo’s secret?

“I… I suppose it’s possible,” Sunoo said cautiously. “Why do you ask?”

Sunghoon looked down at his hands, fidgeting with the edge of his skate. “I found something in your room the other day,” he said quietly. “A vial with some kind of potion in it. I thought it was just some kind of prank or maybe a cool decoration, so I drank it. But nothing happened.”

Sunoo’s heart stopped. So it was true. Sunghoon had found the potion and drunk it. But why hadn’t it worked? Why hadn’t Sunghoon fallen under its spell?

“I’m so sorry, Sunoo,” Sunghoon continued, his voice full of guilt. “I didn’t mean to mess with your stuff. I just… I don’t know. I felt like there was something special about it. About you.”

Sunoo swallowed hard, his mind racing. He couldn’t lie to Sunghoon anymore. He couldn’t keep hiding the truth.

“Sunghoon,” Sunoo began, his voice trembling, “there’s something you need to know.”

Sunghoon looked up, his eyes filled with concern. “What is it?”

Sunoo took a deep breath, his heart pounding in his chest. “I’m… I’m not like everyone else. I have magic. Real magic. The potion you drank—it was a love potion.”

Sunghoon stared at him in shock, his mouth opening and closing as he tried to process what Sunoo had just said. “A love potion?” he repeated, his voice barely above a whisper.

Sunoo nodded, tears welling up in his eyes. “I made it because I… I love you, Sunghoon. But I never intended for you to drink it. I was too afraid to tell you how I felt, so I kept it hidden. But

now…”

Sunghoon reached out and took Sunoo’s hand, his touch warm and reassuring. “Sunoo, it’s okay,” he said softly. “You don’t have to be afraid.”

“But the potion… it didn’t work,” Sunoo said, his voice shaking. “You’re not supposed to remember anything. You’re supposed to be… in love with me.”

Sunghoon’s eyes softened, and he squeezed Sunoo’s hand gently. “Sunoo, I’ve always cared about you. The potion didn’t change that. Maybe it didn’t work because… I already had feelings for you.”

Sunoo’s breath caught in his throat, his heart swelling with a mixture of hope and disbelief. “You… you have feelings for me?”

Sunghoon nodded, his gaze never leaving Sunoo’s. “Yes, Sunoo. I’ve liked you for a long time. I just never knew how to tell you. I was afraid you wouldn’t feel the same way.”

Tears spilled over Sunoo’s cheeks, and he quickly wiped them away, overwhelmed by the flood of emotions. “I can’t believe this,” he whispered. “I’ve been so scared of losing you, of ruining everything.”

Sunghoon smiled, leaning closer. “You could never ruin anything, Sunoo. I’m just glad we’re finally being honest with each other.”

Before Sunoo could say another word, Sunghoon closed the distance between them, pressing his lips gently against Sunoo’s. The world seemed to melt away, leaving only the warmth of Sunghoon’s kiss and the steady beat of their hearts.

Sunoo’s mind spun, his thoughts a whirlwind of joy and relief. He wrapped his arms around Sunghoon, pulling him closer, deepening the kiss. It was everything he had ever dreamed of, and more.

They stayed like that for what felt like an eternity, lost in each other, their kisses growing more passionate with each passing moment. Sunoo’s fears and doubts melted away, replaced by a warmth that spread through his entire being. He had finally found the courage to be himself, to let Sunghoon see the real him, and Sunghoon had accepted him with open arms.

When they finally pulled apart, both of them were breathless, their faces flushed with emotion. Sunghoon rested his forehead against Sunoo’s, his eyes shining with affection.

“I love you, Sunoo,” Sunghoon whispered, his voice filled with sincerity.

“I love you too, Sunghoon,” Sunoo replied, his heart swelling with happiness.

They stayed there on the bench, holding each other close, the rest of the world fading into the background. Sunoo knew that they still had challenges to face, that there would be questions and uncertainties ahead. But in that moment, none of it mattered. They had each other, and that was all they needed.

As they sat together, basking in the warmth of their newfound love, Sunoo couldn’t help but smile. He had spent so long hiding his true self, fearing that he would never find acceptance or love. But now, with Sunghoon by his side, he knew that anything was possible.

For the first time in his life, Sunoo felt truly free—free to be himself, free to love, and free to embrace the magic that had always been a part of him. And as he looked into Sunghoon’s eyes, he knew that their journey together was just beginning.

They kissed again, their lips meeting in a soft, lingering embrace. This time, there was no hesitation, no fear—only the pure, unfiltered joy of being together.

And for the next hour, they lost themselves in each other, their kisses filled with the promise of a love that would only grow stronger with time. The world around them might have been ordinary, but the love they shared was nothing short of magical.
