"They fished in the river and pulled out my body. I had blown out the brains."
Even the grass and water were dull and lifeless. Engel turned to Bubble, a tired look on his face.
"Are there even fish in this river?"
Bubble reluctantly nodded her head, casting her rod into the water again.
"There should be... I've been here so many times with my family, and there is almost always a school of freshwater fish waiting to be caught..."
Despite her words, the water seemed as dead as a doornail, the only things looking back at them being their reflections. The water looked murky and polluted and a foul smell that was barely noticeable was wafting throughout the air around the river.
"Do you smell that?"
Engel snapped out of his thoughts at the sound of his friend's voice. He sniffed the air (with his non-existent nose) and shook his head.
"I don't smell anything..."
Perhaps it was just Bubble's senses tricking her into thinking the water was more polluted than it actually was. After all, she couldn't exactly tell how clear the water was since it was too dark.
"I got something!"
Engel hopped up from the grass and began to reel in his line. The fish wasn't really putting up much of a fight... but it was still difficult to reel in regardless. Bubble crawled over and got up onto her feet to help Engel pull the fish in.
"This fish is heavy...!"
When they finally managed to pull their catch to the shore, Bubble let out a shrill scream.
Claire's naked decomposing body flew in front of her friends. Her eyes were missing and a quarter of her head was missing, brain matter spilling out of the blow, what looked like her intestines and vomit were also shoveled in her mouth, dripping out onto the grass.
The worst injury was a contusion on her stomach. It was bloated, like she was pregnant. Almost as if someone had cut her skin and pulled her organs out, Claire's tummy was empty. Her genitals were also mutilated to the point they didn't look like... a body part, almost like a fungus.
Engel backed away from the horrid manifestation in front of him and turned away to throw up on the ground. Bubble managed to keep her guts in, but pulled Engel away from the body and to a close by abandoned shed.
"I'm calling the police."
They just left Claire's body near the river and waited for the authorities to arrive.
An autopsy was done on her body and it was confirmed that Claire was 4 and half months pregnant. Her underdeveloped child's corpse was found floating down the same river by authorities and was also confirmed to be Claire's.
Though, they were unable to conduct a DNA test on the child to discover the father and Claire's sex organs had been mutilated to the point traces of any form of DNA or bodily fluids could not be traced.
There was still a monster out there, to steal and torture and kill young girls.
