They've been living together for a while now. At first, they prefer to be each one of them on their own place since their past, something that neither of them wanted to show the other, maybe out of trust or fear, but after some time they get to know each other better, and be more comfortable with the other presence until they decided to move together to make life easier for both of them.
With time, they ended up learning to be okay with the other's presence in their private life, something that was scary for both of them at the start, but they've been improving for a while now.
Their routine it's easy, being waking up, make some breakfast, then Shin works in his computer and meanwhile keiji gets ready to work; they eat lunch, the programmer sleeps all afternoon and his partner goes to work; and in the night, the beanie guy gets up to work and the policeman arrives and goes to sleep.
It's 3:40, and Keiji's mind decided to play tricks with him this night, cold sweat and his irregular breathing it's the firts thing that welcomes him when he wakes up in this nights is when he misses the most his boyfriend) .
He grudges as he reaches the phone and texts his partner, asking if he's fine, at what the other responds almost immediately 'yes, don't worry your pretty head', it makes nothing but let him worried since it was from the other side of a little screen (someone could be faking be him), so he decided to call him.
One tone, two tones and then click.
"Hello " he coughs softly as he realised how dry his throat is.
"Hi Kechii, what happened?" he enfatized in the nickname, trying to maintain a funny tone but still listening at what the Blonde dyed man's gonna say.
"Well... Just wanting to know if you al'right, just that"
He listened an affirmative sound be made on the other side of the phone, just for the guy to answer back after a minute or two (maybe thinking if make some questions or not).
"Well, I'm kinda bored so we can talk for a while, as long as the Boss don't come to annoy me", he smirked as he imagined the annoyed smile his partner has as he mentions his boss, he answered with an 'okay, as long as it's fine' .
5:12, his boyfriend's probably in his way back home, he decided to still distract his mind, so he started to make the bed, sweep a little and then cook breakfast.
5:49 and the shortest arrived home safely.
"Honey I'm home~" his partner says as he closes the door behind, using a kind of funny tone as he speaks, damn sometimes he can be cute, "did you miss me?", he added as he got closed to hug Keiji, he just nodded.
He was getting comfortable in the hug until he felt two little hands reaching down his t-shirt
"Wuahaha, yeah, but your cold hands not so much... so you stop it, will you love?..." he frowned in annoyance as he feel how Shin finds their way to his upper back, stealing the warm to take it for his own hands.
"stop what?" his partner answers in an innocent tone and smile; forget what he said earlier, this man is evil and he hates him.
"ha! My love" he emphasises the word jaded of the other ( not knowledgeable if it's real annoyance or not) " breakfast is ready, so warm your hands with a nice cup of coffee instead of using my back.", as he talks, he takes the teal haired man by his shoulders and put him out of the hug to guide them both to the couch and eat.
The smirked of evilness for what he's done is still there in his lover's face, like he's planning something ( he is and Keiji knows it), but he doesn't pointed it out, he already knows what it is.
They continued with the morning as usual, talking as Keiji's getting ready to work and shin is starting to use his computer, completing some work of programming until decides it's enough for today, the man stretches and stands out of the couch, putting his laptop where it was and looks at his phone.
"it's 10:57, want me to make lunch? " the sloppiness in the words doesn't go unnoticed, picking Keiji's worry for the other's state (probably overworked ).
"Yeah, but don't burned the water please", he decides to leave his worries there for now, already knowing how's the other, instead, he smiles for himself as he heard the offended gasp the other let before gazing at him with fake despise.
He knows Shin can make food, he has been living alone for a while so he should have learned to at least make white rice and eggs in all its presentations, that doesn't mean it's not funny to teased him.
"funny and clever blondie" that's the last comment that gets out of the small man's mouth before he goes to the kitchen and starts to prepare lunch.
12:30 and he's getting out of the apartment, walking to his job.
Since the accident happened, he thought it was best if he quit being a policeman ( knowing the fact of how power works and the guilt eating him alive, it's painful) , but he didn't find any other job so he just go back to the place, accepting the offering his boss told him, to work in a lower rank but still being payed as he was before, kinda weird in his opinion but he thinks it's okay for now, plus, he's tired.
A good thing he can do it's walking for the zone in his free time and, when it was a really good day, Sara or Gin had also time and came to talk to him. And of course, as the friendly policeman he is, goes with them and talked for a while, eat some type of sweet and get back to work.
Sometimes they stay with him inside the station, sometimes they leave as soon as Keiji's break it's over, but either way, he's happy with this kids, he feels like they're family, and honestly, he knows the feeling it's mutual because of how the kids categorised him like a father (something that makes him so happy).
The three of them where in the closest cafe to the police station, Keiji's kinda free this day, so they had more time to talk than normal (at least he thinks that).
"So how you been, huh? Are you still being the best in your school?" He starts the talk as their order it's being brought to them.
"You could say so, I'm actually going to Joe's house since we made a study plan, his girlfriend would be there too!" Sara tells excited, she really loves her friends "also, things in general are going well".
"What about the stalking thing?" He interrupted. "Oh yeah, haven't figured it out yet, and the police isn't taking me seriously since there's not 'enough proof' ...ahg... " The complaining makes Keiji worry for the girl, but also annoyed, he can't believe how bad it's the police in their job, he masks his anger and just nodded at what the girl said with his normal face, and just to redirect the conversation to Gin.
"And you Gin? How's things going? How's your mom too? "
" Things are good, meow!! And mom... she's been working a lot meow... I feel bad for her, dad's never help her! I wish he did... " the kid tells as he uncovers his face, since their order arrive "Pancakes!!".
"Thanks keiji" the girls smiles to him as she gets a bite of her order, so he just smiles back and answers.
"Just what your friendly policeman do" hope I could do more stays unsaid, he wishes he could help them but he does what he can, maybe he could tried and investigate on his own, maybe, it doesn't sound like a bad idea...
When it's time to go they just hug each other, Sara and Gin go to the kids house before the high schooler takes a bus to her own friends house.
And Keiji continues the day as normal.
When he gets back to home, he just finds a teal hair man knocked out in the couch, with a laptop almost falling of his hands.
lucky bastard he thinks as he grabs the computer and leave it in the table, and he starts to nudged the other in a gentle way, trying to wake him up.
"Wake up sir, it's getting late to work", he speaks softly as he leaves to put coffee for the other, his partner just murmurs a 'shut up' and some complainings as he gets to the bathroom and gets ready to work.
He needs that Shin doesn't reach the laptop and touches the bed at least one afternoon (being in a shrimp position is not good for anyone).
7:40 and shin's ready to go to work, but the cold of the night already affected his hands (a lie actually, the man just wash them and since the water was cold) and he hugs Keiji from the back (scaring him a little bit) .
"Aww, your cute, now get your hands of me princess..." the other just found his way under keijis uniform, to his skin "get off asshole, your hands are cold" the teal hair man just laughs satisfied with what he has done, before saying a 'you know you love me' and taking the cup of coffee the policeman served.
"Aren't you gonna put sugar in that?" the beanie man shakes his head
"I need to stay awake"
"You know it would be easier if you use the afternoon to sleep well" the other just take a slip of his coffee.
"I procrastinate with a work again, now I need to ended it before the week ends, it's qlready thuesday and that thing it's looong" He complains, kinda upset with himself for now torturing himself for a week, and then a chugged of the coffee until there was nothing "thanks".
"You're welcome shiny" the other tried to put an annoyed face but the love smile betray him, he hugs the short boy and kiss his forehead before he leaves.
"Take care"
"I will" and with that, he just goes to sleep as the other man goes out.
He knows what's now part of their routine, Shin trying to prove his luck by reaching his warm skin with his cold hands at any opportunity he had, most of the time his back, chest or abdomen being victims of the coldness, he learned to control his reflects to avoid punching shin by accident when he did the cold hands thing in the less expected moment (since he loved to do it when himself was distracted), he also started to use more his t-shirt inside the home ( doing nothing to stop Shin).
It's already Saturday, one more day and he will rest, his boyfriend rest all weekend so he was all day to sleep if he didn't have to send a work.
But this time he has a task, and he just saw him slaving himself to the computer since he got back from work and take breakfast, he would tried to convince him to take a break but he knows the other's not going to listen him, so it's now just a reminder.
He goes to work as always and the day passes as normal, maybe the only weird thing was that in his break, was Sara and Joe, it would be normal if it was just Sara, since Gin sometimes have a date with the psychologist about his autism, but Joe being here was weird, having in account that the man doesn't trust him at all, he even though he faked his police plaque (kinda funny to him to be honest).
They talked for a while about life, as always they go to a cafe, eat and talk.
"So yeah, the exam sucked, and I don't think it went well, daaaamn, all that study for nothing!!!" Joe said as he eats a burger in a sad way.
"There's always other time Joe, maybe next time you'll not suck too much" Sara says, trying to comfort her friend but also still being an asshole, "wow, thanks sara" another bite and a chuckle.
"By the way Keiji, I heard you're dating Shin" he almost choked with his drink 'Well that was unexpected...', he tried to mantain his life as private as he can, mostly because he's more comfortable in that way, but it's not like he will make excuses.
"yeah" a cough before continuing "yes, I am, wow, who told you Sara?".
"Kanna and kugie" of course it was Shin's sisters, who else could it be? Still, it makes him jump out a bit.
"why didn't you tell me?" Sara's disappointment was notorious in her voice, but she was waiting for an answer, and he can give it.
"I like my life to be as private as it can. however, I'm not gonna denied I could have told you about our relationship, sorry wuhaha"
she wasn't completely satisfied with the answer (he can assume that the girl wanted to him to trust more in her, a sting of small guilt stays with him)
She looked at Keiji's, like trying to read his mind until she gave up
"it's okay. I just got surprised but it's your life so I'm not mad" she states, Keiji just let her and Joe ask for other thing to eat as a form of apologise.
"yeah, free food"
"it's always free, I'm paying "
"I should search more about your private life if that makes us have double food in the day" the girls says in a sassy tone, he's glad both of the kids ended up happy.
When he got home, the first thing he notices is his boyfriend satisfied with himself, the second is that the laptop is now stored in it's lining and the third it's that the apartment is cleaned
He whistle as he enter the place
"pretty"
"I know" the other answered with a smile before standing up and hugging the tallest man, and he does the same, when they put apart, keiji just goes to the kitchen and prepares something for him and his boyfriend, him talking about how his work was finished and that's he's free as a bird.
Keiji listening attentively, glad that now the man is gonna sleep.
"and how about your day?" The other ended up his rambling and now is listening to Keiji's
"As normal as always, just that I talked with Joe and Sara and she told me she knows we're dating " he comments, shin just makes an affirmative noise making obvious thathe knew.
"yeah, I told kanna and she asked me if she could tell to kugie and Sara, I told her yes" he just acknowledged, surprising keiji a little since how bitter was his partner against Sara, he didn't like her that much, he never explained why, but it was mutual between them, however, they can tolerate the other presence in a room so that's something.
"it's kinda nice that she asked me before since my thoughts of miss Sara" he just ended the comment and keiji just smirked, it seems like his disliked for the high schooler it's less than before.
When they go to sleep, shin just says that he's gonna look for something real fast and he would go to sleep, a lie again, and keiji knows it, but doesn't say anything, just hopes that he's slepping when he wakes up.
Thankfully it is, shin's sleeping pleasantly at his side when he wakes up, he looked at the time.
"8:24" he murmurs as he gets up and look at what to do for breakfast, he almost didn't find anything so he gets to the store, he realised it was really cold outside (even so it was already 8:30 of the morning, it felt like it was still 6:30), when he got back, he started to make breakfast, as he finished, he decided to take it to the bed, since they're resting this day, so why not?
He wakes his partner and he change his position to sit and eat comfortably, when they finished he just heard a weak thanks and a yawn, he gets the plate and washed them before he gets tired and leave it to the other, when he ends his chore, he realised his hands are as cold as shin's when he gets home from work, so he decide to get in bed and hugged him, putting his hands in his back, waiting for the other to complain or something, but what he gets is the other hugging him back, sighing in relief, disappointing him, and thinking for a moment that the other didn't mind the change of temperature , this before realising that the other is actually with a red face, so he change the place of his hand to put it in the others forehead, face and neck.
"Of course a fever" he sighed
"hehe, the world loves but hates me" the other just answered, "anyway... there's something for a headache?" He finished his sentence.
"yeah, wait me here" he gets up and search for some ibuprofen and the cold gel bags so he can put in the others forehead, also a thermometer.
When he got back to the room he saw the other sitting, looking like he just got up for a glass of water, he put himself the scarf he uses to work and a jacket, The fittest man just convincing the other to at least to not put the jacket
"too much warm can also make it worse" the other complain before letting the jacket where it was and lay down in bed in a sitting position, the tallest started to put the gel on his forehead and the thermometer to see what's his temperature.
After a moment he saw it "38.06, you're burning" the other nodded.
"Sorry your revenge didn't go as planned darling" he took the ibuprofen and the glass of water and takes two pills, making the other realised the pain was actually kinda strong.
"In other opportunity I will get you, for now you rest sweetheart" the other just laugh sarcastically before laying down back again
Chicken soup doesn't sound bad for lunch.
