Elizabeth. Rio always called her Elizabeth, never Beth. She could hear him in her thoughts now. What am I doing here, Elizabeth? You gotta set limits, Elizabeth! Let me rub your back, Elizabeth! Give me a little kiss, Elizabeth! It was those little kisses that had her in the predicament she was in now. Her belly was swollen with his daughter, and she had heartburn from hell. She was popping Tums like candy, and he was just smiling away.
“You gotta set limits, Mama. You know what spicy food does to you, but you eat it anyway and then you blame my daughter, my Chris,” Rio teased, convinced they should name her Christina or Christa after him.
“Ha! It’s your fault, Rio. You brought it for me,” she pouted.
Rio laughed, his eyes twinkling with amusement. “I would give you anything, Elizabeth. You’re my girl.
