Feeling the wind gusting against my dress, I can finally understand the notion of being swept out to sea. It’s exhilarating, being so close to the coast, imagining what may lay beyond those waters. As powerful as that was, it paled in comparison to what came next. When my eyes connected with his, I felt a different kind of danger; he could mean danger, I’m certain of it. He makes me feel as though I need to be on guard, on the defensive, unsettled in every way. Yes, Sidney Parker is dangerous. I will need to steer clear of him.
