It had been a completely normal sunny day for the village of Sooga. The sun was shining, the birds were chirping along with one another, and Pucca was chasing Garu all over the place. yup, a normal day indeed.
Everyone in the village had known Pucca was in love with Garru, and those who didn't...well they find out eventually. I mean it was pretty obvious, the girl practically lives to chase Garu around. It was normal for the villagers to see Pucca run up mountains and down hills just to catch a glimpse of the boy. Though they did sometimes feel a bit bad for him, it must be pretty tiring to have a girl like Pucca follow you wherever you go. Don't get them wrong, they love Pucca! it's just...sometimes it's a bit tiring to see.
Anyways it had been one of those days where Pucca actually did manage to trap Garu, she was clinging onto him while giggling and placing kisses all over his cheeks. Garu on the other hand was struggling, trying to get Pucca to let him go. They had been at this for a good 15 minutes when suddenly the door to the noodle restaurant was swung open, reveling a girl with bright blue hair done in a cute bun.
"Miss Ring Ring, to what do we owe the pleasure!" called one of Pucca's uncles who was currently slicing some vegetables to later put in the noodles.
ignoring the man, Ring Ring instead went straight to Pucca and Garu, a glare evident in her face directed to Pucca. once within arm distance Ring Ring hurriedly pulled Pucca off Garu, making both Pucca and Garu fall back in the process. Making sure to create distance between the two, Ring Ring towered over Pucca and placed both hands on her hips.
"Let go of him already will you. He obviously doesn't like you, so I don't even know why you bother trying." Ring Ring spat making sure Pucca couldn't see the boy behind her.
"Honestly it's pathetic seeing you try to win over his heart when he so obviously ignores you. it's like watching that stupid Abyo kid or whatever his name is trying to beat light in a race. it's annoying and sad. have you even stopped to think about what you'd do if he outright rejected you? no i bet you didn't. I bet you planned to do this forever huh. you just thought he'd let you do this until he died? are you really that dense or are you just pretending to be this stupid."
"Ring Ring that's enough!" yelled Ching who had been sitting near a very offended Abyo eating noodled.
"What are you gonna say I'm wrong? are you going to tell me that Garu actually likes being chased around every day?" She spat looking directly at Ching's table then around the restaurant daring anyone to tell her she was wrong.
Except no one did. As much as they wanted to defend Pucca, Ring Ring was right this time. Everyone knew Garu hated being chased by Pucca and they had ignored it long enough.
Pucca could only look around as the people she considered close friends and family stayed quiet as she was publicly shamed. She was being humiliated and yet no one said nothing. not even her uncles. not even Ching. close to tears, Pucca looked down as to not show the world how embarrassed she was. grabbing onto her red dress so as to calm herself yet it didn't work.
not seeming to notice Pucca's tears Ring Ring continued.
"I mean honestly you'd think a girl would learn by now. Considering the number of times, he has to put up with you, I think you'd get the hint. He Hates you Pucca."
"Ring Ring!" Ching yelled once more.
With Ching and Ring Ring going back and forth nobody seemed to notice Pucca's tearful state as she quietly sobbed. her knuckles going white as she held on to her dress tightly. nobody except Garu.
As soon as Garu saw Pucca shed a single tear he quickly made his way over to her, grabbing hold of her shoulders so she can look at him. With a worried expression evident on his face, Garu gently held Pucca and pulled her into a tight hug. running his hand up and down her back in a soothing manner. Pucca was shocked at first, this had been the first time Garu had willingly hugged her first. Slowly she wrapped her arms around him as she continued to sob into his shoulder.
after a few minutes of the tight embrace, Garu gently pulled Pucca back and with his thumb wiped away the tears. Smiling softly as Pucca continued to stare at Garu in surprise. Once he was sure she was going to shed anymore tears he lightly kisses her hands, then her cheeks, until finally kissing her forehead. Pucca's flushed face only serves to amuse Garu as he pushes their foreheads together.
"...did...did i just see that right?" Ring Ring askes as she and Ching had stopped fighting moments ago only to turn and see Garu kissing Pucca. Pucca! the girl he so desperately tried to evade every morning and night.
Sighing Garu stands up, pulling Pucca up with him, deciding to leave the noodle restaurant and somewhere more private. Garu opens the door for Pucca, who is still a bit shocked at these turns of events but happy. He turns to walk out the door with Pucca but not before giving sending a quick and hateful glare at Ring Ring, leaving the girl terrified and heartbroken.
Once they're far away enough from the restaurant Pucca stops in her tracks and turns to Garu smiling excitedly. Garu who was somewhat prepared for this, opens his arms widely, inviting the girl into his embrace. without wasting another second Pucca jumps into his arms and squeezes tightly just as she's always done. She places rushed kisses all over Garu's face, laughing the whole time.
Garu only lets out a soft chuckle before he grabs onto Pucca and tilts her chin, aligning their lips together.
"I love you" he whispers before pressing their lips together into a small and sweet kiss.
"I love you!" Pucca smiles tears forming in her eyes once more as her feelings are finally returned.
