Teenage Love

Summary:

Noah and Jesse as teenagers. How does their life look like with a captain, district attorney, detective, and ada as parents.

Chapter Text

Noah and Jesse’s parents have been friends since before they were in the picture. They grew up doing everything together. Now they are inseparable 15 and 16 year olds. For the longest time it’s always been “Yes, you can go as long as Noah is going or yes, you can go if Jesse is going”

Now, here they are sitting in an abandoned lot looking straight at a squad car and a uniformed officer walking towards them. As soon as Jesse noticed, she spoke up. “Should we run?”

“Jess!” Noah whisper shouted. “What are we going to say?”

“We didn’t do anything wrong, Noah.”

Before they could finish figuring out what to say, the cop approached them. “NYPD, you are trespassing.”

“We didn’t know.” they said in unison.

”Is that alcohol?” the cop questioned.

”No. It’s water.” Noah lied.

”Then you both won’t mind taking a breathalyzer.”

“We are so dead” Jess exaggerated.

The officer came back with a breathalyzer. The text came up with a 0.03 and a 0.04. “How old are you.”

”16” Noah answered

”And you?”

”15”

“Why are two teenagers drinking and trespassing?” officer Ramose inquired.

”We were at a graduation party. We just wanted to hangout when it ended. We didn’t know we were trespassing.” The older teen explained.

“Both of you turn around. I’m taking you in for underage drinking, lying to a police officer and trespassing.” each cop cuffed one of the kids and led them to the squad car.

They were halfway to the local precinct when Noah started talking. “Jess, we are so dead when our parents find out.”

“Do you think my dad will represent me in court? You know, if it comes to that. Maybe your mom will represent you.”

“Represent me? My other mom will push her to let me go to jail to learn a lesson.”

“You know that won’t happen, Noah.”

They finally arrived at the station and were taken to booking where there were adults. Adults who had actually committed crimes.

“You can make a phone call to your parents or we will.”

“No. No. We will call them” Noah shrieked.

District Attorney Alexandra Cabot and Captain Olivia Benson of the Special Victims Unit had agreed to let their son go to a graduation party because they knew Jesse was going as well. They hadn’t been able to sleep much lately with a 2 months old in the next room over, so when the phone started ringing at 2am, they were less than pleased. “Benson.” Olivia grounded.

”Mom.” Noah muttered.

“Noah? Are you okay?” Alex stirred and started to awaken when she heard her sons name followed by “are you okay”

“Jesse and I are at the 21st precinct. We were arrested. Please don’t be mad.”

“What the hell, Noah! You were supposed to be at a graduation party; not out getting arrested.” Alex shot up from her lying position and her eyes went wide listening to only Olivia’s side of the conversation

“I know. I’m sorry. They want our parents to come down to the station.”

”I’ll be there soon.” The captain answered her son before hanging up. She noticed Alex standing up.

“What are you doing?”

“I’m coming with you.”

”What about Callum? He’s sleeping.”

“We will take him with us.”

Amanda texted Olivia about Jesse being in a holding cell and agreed to meet at the precinct before going in. When they arrived Olivia grabbed the car seat from the backseat and carried it while walking inside with her wife, Amanda, and Sonny.

“Our children called. They are being held in a cell. Noah Benson-Cabot and Jesse Rollins-Carisi.”

”Let me get the arresting officers.”

Olivia gave birth to Callum June Benson-Cabot 2 months ago. It wasn’t exactly the easiest birth but he is a pretty easy baby. He only wakes up twice in the night. Like right now, Olivia unbuckled the car seat and put a cover on her so she could breastfeed their baby while waiting for the officers.

“We were told you were here for your children, Noah and Jesse? We are the arresting officers.”

The cops took the four adults back to the holding cells where they ran into Casey Novak, their former ada.

“Well if it isn’t ironic to see you guys here.” Olivia heard the familiar voice and turned around.

“Don’t even go on about how funny it is for the son of a district attorney and SVU commanding  officer and daughter of an assistant district attorney and detective of SVU to be arrested.”

“Hey! I’m not the one that said it. My boss is the prosecutor on this case.”

The arresting officers turned when they overheard who the teenager’s parents’ were and started going on about the profile of the arrest they made.

“I won’t lie. My boss is really stretching with the cases. They are looking into him. He’s trying to turn their trespassing misdemeanors into a felony. I guarantee if this goes to trial that the charge will get dropped completely.”

”They were just talking. They weren’t going to hurt someone or damage anything. Can we get the case dismissed if they take us in front of a judge?” Olivia asked

“Yes, babe. I can file a motion for dismissal because a felony charge for this is outrageous.”

After talking for 15 minutes, the teenagers were free to go. Once they got into the car Noah spoke up. “I’m really sorry mom; mama.”

”We will talk about this in the morning. We had to drag your little brother out of the house at 2am. He’s 2 months old, Noah and you’re out here drinking and getting arrested.”

_____

“Jesse! What were you thinking!” Amanda scolded looking back at her daughter from the passenger seat.

“I’m sorry, mom. We weren’t drinking at first and then people started chanting for us to take a shot with everyone, so we did. After the party we just wanted to walk around and talk for a while. We didn’t know we were trespassing, I swear.”

“You were drinkin! We had to call the babysitter at 2am to watch your brother and sister because you were arrested. You are 15 years old. You shouldn’t be drinking!”

“It won’t happen again.”

The detective scoffed. “Yeah, It better not. I’ll let them lock you up next time.”

_____

Olivia and Alex walked back into their house a little after 3am. Noah went straight to his room and went to sleep. The attorney took Callum from the car seat and put him in his crib before meeting her wife in their bed.

“Where did we go wrong?” Captain Benson questioned.

”We didn’t, baby. Teenagers do stupid things. This was the first time they have actually truly been in trouble.”

“You’re right.”

”Come here.” Alex said opening her arms to let her wife in.

______

The next morning, Alex was lying on the couch snuggled with their son. Olivia went into her older son’s room. “Noah. Get up now.”

Captain Benson met her wife on the couch and snuggled up with her wife and baby, while waiting for their teenager to come out of his room.

“Mom. Mama”

“Come here. Time to talk about last night.” Olivia instructed.

”How much trouble am I in?”

“A lot, Noah. When we give you permission to go somewhere, that means you go to the place that you had permission to go to, not run around doing whatever you want. Then there was the drinking. When you’re 21, then you can drink. You are 16 years old. That is against the law. As far as the trespassing, I understand that you didn’t know.”

”I understand. I’m sorry. It won’t happen again.”

”It better not. I want your phone, laptop, and tv remote. You’re grounded for a month. You can have your phone to go to school and I get it back after school. I love you, Noah. I just want you to be safe.”

“I love you too, mom. And I love you mama.”

“I love you too, sweet boy.” The attorney expressed.

“Oooo Jesse’s in troubleee.” Billie, the 11 year old taunted while their 5 year old brother, Nicky loudly played with blocks.

Jesse rolled her eyes as she shouted, “Shut up!”

“I’m not the one in trouble.”

“Billie, knock it off or you’re next.” Amanda scolded. “Come into your dad and I’s room. Time to talk.”

____

”How long am i grounded?”

”A month. Same as Noah. No phone, tv remote, or laptops. I’ll give you your phone for school, that’s it. I don’t want you drinking. I told you yes to the party not to roam around the city.”

”That was the first time I ever took a drink of alcohol. People my age do it all the time.”

“You don’t understand, Jess. I’m going to tell you something about my family. My sister; your aunt, is an addict. My dad; your grandpa, is an addict. Drugs and alcohol. It wasn’t unicorns and rainbows growing up. You are lucky that you have a dad that loves you kids and I. Your grandpa beat your grandma all the time when I was a kid. I blamed your grandma for so long when it was his fault. Addiction isn’t anything to dance around with, babe. It doesn’t just destroy the addicts lives but the people around them. It’s destroys and kills people. I don’t want to watch you go down that road.”

“I’m sorry, mama. I didn’t know. I promise I won’t do it again. I love you.”

”I love you too, babygirl.”
