Creating My Downfall

Summary:

The Father has created Lucifer, who’s watched the development of the known universe in front of his innocent eyes. He knows nothing other than the unconditional love of God. There’s no imagining a love greater.

With sights set on a realm of angels, the Father promises that Lucifer will have a family, knowing full well that the family he creates will lead to the ultimate devastation.

Work Text:

Earth appeared with a simmer of dark matter rather than a boom.

That was how the Father intended. Through all of his difficulty in creating an object that could hold a delicate level of magic to sustain life, he attempted one of the universe’s greatest miracles.

It was his beloved son behind him, his first born, who concerned him most.

With a feeling of disappointment and dread in his chest, the Father turned to his son with a calm smile. “Do you see, Lucifer?” he asked, motioning to the system of carefully organized chaos. “A world built for what will be called ‘humans.’”

Lucifer stepped forward, his shoes settling deep into the clouds of the Heavens. He peered at the dark horizon—the sun, the planets, the moons. His eyes watered at the thought of beings scurrying through forests and swimming through oceans with no care for the danger of sin.

What was sin, however, but a construct of the Father? A threat, rather, though not a very good one, Lucifer admitted.

But the Father simply smiled and clapped a hand on Lucifer’s shoulder. “We will create more angels to manage the worlds here,” he said. “You will not have to do it alone.”

“Thank you. I have no concerns,” Lucifer replied, his voice confident. “I promise to ensure your word is law in all realms you bring to fruition.”

“Good boy.”

Lucifer’s six white wings fluttered at the compliment, and the Father smiled. He’d known Lucifer was perfect, built in his own image and likeness.

It was a shame that he would turn his back on the Celestial Realm at his darkest hour.

Lucifer watched as the Father cried at the beauty of his creations and smiled. Nothing would tear him from Heaven’s loving arms.

Nothing could tempt him.

Thank you for reading!

The idea that God created the angels knowing they would betray him…Beautiful, really. Should be explored more often!
