Life in Hisui Can Suck Sometimes!

Summary:

A 10-Year-Old Boy Wanders Into the Just Starting up Jubilife Village, with a Qwilfish spike in his back and is Severely Poisoned! This is where his story Begins!

Notes:

This is my first story. I've had this on the back burner for a while. As the story progresses, you will see how Rei manages to survive in Hisui while being stuck in Jubilife Village. He will later on see more but we are starting off here. Also, this story will end when someone else joins, but they won't be around until the last chapter ... which, at the time, hasn't been finished yet. This is also part of a series, so if you like this, then there will be a lot more where that came from.

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Chapter 1: Welcome to Hisui!

Summary:

A 10-Year-Old Boy Wanders Into the Just Starting up Jubilife Village, with a Qwilfish spike in his back and is Severely Poisoned!

Chapter Text

*SPLASH*

“*INHALE* *COUGH COUGH COUGH*” There was a boy in the water. He was almost close to land and he could easily swim to it. Then something stung him on the back. He looked behind him to see an Angry-looking Pokémon he didn't recognize. “GAH!” The boy swam over to land, once he got there, he started to feel sick. He got poisoned and it feels worse than anything he experienced. But wait, what does this compare to? … He shook his head and started to walk. He didn't know where he was going, but he just knew he was walking somewhere. He started to go through rock wall-like structures, finding his way to somewhere. Then he made it to a camp-like place, with people! Just as his hopes got up, he collapsed outside where he saw people running towards him.

Now he didn't know where he was. He was tired and felt sick, very sick. “Ngh, w…where am I?”

“Oh thank goodness! COMMANDER KAMADO, HE'S AWAKE!” He heard footsteps walking away from where he was. He opened his eyes to see a cloth structure that seemed to be temporary until a building was made. Then, more footsteps were coming near him. Soon he saw three people looking down at him. A woman with pink hair, one side was looped while the other side was not; she looked like someone who helps heal people. Another woman, who made the boy feel scared and angry at, but he didn't know why; she had blue hair, a stern face that might as well show no emotion, and wearing a red and yellow outfit. The final person was a man, with black hair, and he was wearing some sort of armor; just like the woman he felt afraid of, he felt like he knew the man in armor, but not in fear, but in a way, he could trust. The boy tried to get up and face them as he was sitting but he felt a jolt of pain in his back. “Easy there young one. You're still injured from that Qwilfish spike. I'm surprised that you walked here with that in your back young one. You also seem to have caught a cold, must have got it where you got soaked.” The boy looked over as he was arched up to see them all now, and saw his clothes safe, but they looked different from what he remembered. It was a plain boys' kimono with nothing interesting on it, except probably the repairs from the Qwilfish spike and its Dark Green Color. The nurse woman then brought over some tea. “Here, drink this. It will help your body heal.”

“Thank you.” The boy's voice croaked as he spoke. He blew over the Tea to cool it down and took a small sip. “Mhm, it tastes good. What kind of Tea is it?”

“Hehe, It’s Lilligant Chamomile Tea. It helps with Sleep and Colds.” The Nurse woman came back with a Teapot. She placed it down and sat down next to the Boy. “My name is Pesselle by the way.”

“Hello, Madam.” The boy bowed his head down to Ms. Pesselle, out of respect.

The other woman looked surprised. “Such great manners from a Boy that looks to be around at least Ten Years Old. Young Boy, where did you learn such excellent manners?” At that point, the blue-haired woman placed her hand on the Boy’s shoulder.

But then he jerked away from her and pulled his blanket over his head, hiding himself away from them. In truth, he didn't know why he was doing it either. He pulled the blanket down to his eyes, prepared to pull his blanket back over to protect his head from something. The man there finally spoke up. “Are you afraid of outside contact to your head, child?” The boy nodded, still hiding his full face again. The man then nodded and got up. “If he was soaking wet, he must have been in the water for a Long Time, which explains his cold. And in Waters, there are Dangerous Pokémon that can hurt people.”

“You are suggesting something grabbed him by the head, and he got terrorized by that?”

Pesselle then thought it over for a bit. “That could actually make sense. The local Tentacruel could have made things like this. Tentacruels are said to have Eighty tentacles, each with a venomous tip.”

“Venomous T…Tips?” The boy became more scared and hid his head under the blanket again.

“Alright, that’s enough theorizing for now, not in front of … Sorry for asking this now, but what’s your name?”

“…” The boy showed his eyes to them, then he dropped the blanket. He then placed two fingers from his left hand, Pointer and Tallman, on top of the same fingers on his right hand, he then moved his left hand back and forth, then moved his hand to his stomach, moving it in a circle.

While he seemed to understand what he did, the three adults were very confused. “… Um, Commander Kamado?” The man, Commander Kamado, looked over to Pesselle, who seemed to be less confused than anyone in the structure. “I believe he wants to reveal his name later.” The Boy nodded his head to Pesselle.

Commander Kamado then nodded to the response, respecting the boy's privacy for now. “Alright then. Though, if you don’t mind us asking, where do you originally hail from?” The boy pondered the thought for a few minutes, and then his face went pale.

Pesselle noticed this and pushed the boy’s cup of Tea closer to him so he could set down the blanket for the Cup. “Easy, child. Here, drink your Lilligant Chamomile Tea to calm your nerves.” The boy took a Big Sip of the now cold Tea, he made a face as the now Lilligant Chamomile Tea had sat out for a while and became cold. Pesselle noticed this and took the cup. “Here’s a new cup. Don’t leave it out to cool down, okay?” The boy nodded and continued to drink. Pesselle then angeled herself to look at the back of the Boy’s head, without touching the head. “Hmm, dear child, can you allow me to take a closer look at the back of your head, please? I will have to touch it but it will only be for a minute, I promise. Do you trust me?” The boy looked afraid of this idea. He still nodded, knowing that Ms. Pesselle had an idea. He turned his head to the side, as Pesselle instructed, allowing for a better view of something on the back of his head. “Hmm, this is interesting. Look at this Sir.” The Commander went over to Pesselle to see what she had found, while the boy was getting impatient and nervous. “It looks like he hit his head on something but also that he got poisoned here.”

“That could be it. But just in case, you may need to wrap this up and help our friend clean it. I don't think he would like to get infected with another Poisonous Pokémon.” Just as Pesselle moved her hands from his head, the boy then lay down and pulled his blanket over his head again. “I think we overwhelmed him too much today.”

“Agreed. Captain Cyllene, shall we get going to meet up with Sanqua?”

“Of course. I will meet up with you Commander.” The boy heard footsteps going out of the structure, leaving him with the Commander.

He still didn't want to get up, and he was lying down to sleep away his problems. “I understand if you feel uncomfortable talking to me, but I would like to know your name, to keep you safe, okay?”

“…” He thought it over for a bit, it seemed like he would be safe with his name. So, he pulled the blanket down, and spoke out, quietly “… Rei.”

“… Hmm. It's nice to meet you, Rei. Welcome to Jubilife Village, I'll leave you alone now.” Rei heard the footsteps walking away, leaving him in silence. Rei just looked around his surroundings, waiting to get back to sleep.

… ___ ” He couldn't hear anything. “ _ei? Rei?

Rei opened his eyes to see a black void around him. He looked up to see a Giant Being he didn't recognize who had white fur with Magenta colored accents, a Magenta Arch on its Waist with pink ovals on the Arch, and Red Eyes. “Huh?”

Ah, I am glad that you are awake. ” The being stated. They looked calm, but Rei didn’t like the Magenta color on the being. “ It’s great to see you made the Journey well.

“… Who are you?”

I can not reveal Thy name to you yet, but I can speak with you through your Dreams. ” Rei just looked at the Being, still confused. Before Rei could speak up, the Being spoke up again. “ I must speak with you about something important, but know that you will not be able to speak of our conversations to those sheltering you.

“Why is that?” Rei asked the Being, who lowered their head to him.

If I allow you to reveal what I have told you here in your dreams, then the people of Jubilife will panic and you will not have a place to be safe. ” Rei looked surprised at the being. He didn’t really understand what was going on, but before he could ask, the Being spoke again. “ I can not reveal all to you now, but I can reveal what I can. You are in a world where people fear Pokémon; if you were to reveal our conversations to them, then they would kick you out for siding with Dangerous Beings. Do you understand now, Young Rei?

Rei looked surprised. He then nodded to the Being. “Yes. I understand. But, why are you contacting me now?”

All will be revealed. I wanted to contact you to explain the basics. ” Rei started to fly around the Being’s head. He still didn’t like the Red Eyes. “ You have a purpose to fulfill here in Hisui Young Rei. That purpose has yet to be revealed to you. The more you grow, the more your powers will as well.

“Powers?” Rei looked to the Being, more confused than ever.

The Being nodded back to Rei. “ Yes. See, you are actually ten years of age right now. I will come to you on your entrance day to celebrate your Arrival Day, which will be considered your Birthday, understand that? ” Rei nodded to the being. He would worry about his complicated aging later, for now, he just needs to listen. “ Your Powers are related to Memories. You will be able to see the Memories of others, and also show your Memories to others. But you won’t be able to use these Powers to their full extent yet.

“Why is that? Is it because I’m too Young?”

The Being looked at Rei, who had stopped flying, and looked to the Being. “ You are correct. Essentially, your powers grow with your body. Until your body is strong enough, you can only see your own Memories, you also won’t be able to show them to others yet. That part will be a blessing in disguise for you.

“If I was able to do that now, no one would trust me and I wouldn’t be safe, right?” The Being nodded to Rei. “So, my powers will grow as I do. But, why do I have these Powers? Why did you give me them?”

All will be revealed in time, Rei. I will come back to you in Dreams when you are prepared for more truths. Did you see your outfit the Jubilife People found you in? ” Rei nodded to the Being. He recalled the Dark Green Boy’s Kimono, and how he felt confused by it. “ Your outfit was something I altered to make the story more believable. They also found some things I gave you. Just go with that story, and no one will force you into this Dangerous World.

“But … I don’t even know what my story is. Why give me a story about who I am?”

It will be hard for you to understand now, but know that your old life is forever gone. You must adapt to what you will know, this story I made for you will be your identity for now. Trust me on this, understand, Young Rei? ” Rei looked to the Being, piecing things together.

Rei then nodded to the Being. “I understand. I hope that I’ll find out the truth one day. Thank you for this insight on what I need to start on.”

The Being Nodded back to Rei. “It is time for you to go back to the Waking World. Farewell for now, Young Rei. Be safe, until our next talk.” Soon everything went white, the Dream had ended.
