Work Text:

"Teach me how to paint!" was what Alisaie dropped on him after kicking down his inn room.

"I'm tired of my dearest brother snickering whenever I make something, time to remind him who the superior twin is!"

After few seconds of surprised silence A'nthos finally got up to bring out the needed equipment, his brain rattling with thoughts on how to survive this.

Realism is something that takes a lot of patience, half of it is staying still to study the subject you want to portray.
He may be the warrior of light but he wasn't a miracle worker, no way Alisaie could menage that.

"Ali, what do you say about going for a more modern style? Realism is a little... Restricting. Just pick the colors you want and let your heart guide your strokes. Many masters use this style to portray their inner emotions. "
It was somewhat true, he was mostly talking out of his ass though.

Alisaie held the canvas just given to her as far away as her arms could take it, staring at it as if it held all the answers of the universe.
"If that's your suggestion A'nthy let's go for that, you're the expert here. "

She started very well, took a bright red and put down some very pretty strokes. But all nice things are meant to end.
Alisaie started mixing as much colors as she could, while the red remained prevalent a good 40% of the canvas was now different shades of brown.

"So , teach, what's the score?" Alisaie grinned up at him, clearly proud of her work.

A'nthos started sweating.

"The strokes are very powerful, they have an energy behind them that's very you... Why don't we train some more? This time around I'll chose the colors for you, maybe just 2. "

He quickly needed to find an excuse, he could not let his little sister down like that.
"If you want to beat Alphinaud you have to grasp the concept with all the possible combinations"

Alisaie nodded in agreement and went to take a new canvas, forgetting she was owned an actual score for her efforts.
Stars above, A'nthos thought, she couldn't possibly fuck up two complimentary colors, right?...right??
