It's a nice day here at the busy town of Bonesborough. The world of the Boiling Isles has been normal and peaceful again after the defeat of Belos. However, the lives of 2 young people are about to change and experience a new type of adventure of their own. Their names are Hunter Noceda and Willow Park.
Hunter used to be a Golden Guard, but after the defeat of Belos, he's taking on a new different life that's more peaceful for him, such as being a permanent member of Hexside's Flyer Derby Team, and becoming an older sibling to Luz Noceda.
Willow is the captain of the Flyer Derby team, and is Hunter’s girlfriend. For a while, Willow has her eyes on Hunter and sometimes makes flirting comments towards him which he blushes over at. She considers him ‘the hottest dork she has ever met.’
At Willow’s house, she hears some knocking coming from her front door. She walks up to right and opens the door to see her boyfriend with an excited look on his face.
“Oh, hey, sugar, you look very happy today!” Willow said, with a smile on her face.
“Sunshine…the new Pokemon games are here!” Hunter shouts excitedly. Ever since Hunter and Willow ever became a couple together, the pair has tried multiple pet names for each other…or at least different pet names than ‘Sweet Potato’ from Luz and Amity.
“Ooh…did your mom get you the games?” Willow asked.
“Yep! She got me and Luz the games, but I wanted to play with you, so here’s your game.” Hunter said, giving Willow the ‘Pokemon Violet’ game.
“Aww…thanks, cutie pie. You’re the best boyfriend ever.” Willow said, giving him a peck on the cheek causing the older boy to have a usual blush on his face whenever his girlfriend gives him a kiss.
“Wanna go play it? I’m sure you’d love to hear me ramble so much.” Hunter asked.
“Sure! I always enjoy being with my cutie pie.” Willow giggles, ruffling with her boyfriend’s hair, causing him to giggle. “Let’s go upstairs.”
And so, both of them walk into Willow’s room as Hunter inserts the game onto his Switch, and the game starts playing. Hunter was so excited, he wanted to play a new adventure. Willow always loves seeing her boyfriend happy.
“You know, I always want to join a Pokemon adventure of my own. It would be cool to become a trainer myself. I just wish I could be in the Pokemon world myself, and experience the adventure myself. But I might as well play the game.” Hunter chuckled, dryly, knowing that he can’t really get into a video game…or can he?
Without paying attention, Hunter’s Switch has been consumed by some magic after saying his wish.
Hunter got to thinking of customizing his trainer for over a minute to decide how he should look for the game. “Man, I’m not so good at this part. I want to look cool! Captain, do you think this is a good enough look?” Hunter shows his Switch to his girlfriend to have her look at his trainer.
“Sweetums, I always love how you look. You’ll always look handsome to me in the game.” Willow responded.
“Well, that’s nice when you say that, but…oh, I don’t know, I almost look like him. Maybe I should start out like this.” When Hunter finishes his trainer customization, his Switch begins to glow.
“What the–” Hunter said.
The glow begins to get more intense, and both Hunter and Willow are taken in speechless as what’s happening. “What’s going on?” Hunter asked.
The next thing that happens is that both Hunter and Willow flash in an instant and the Switch drops to the ground, both of them screaming into the far distance.
Peering up from the window, a young tanned girl with brown hair and brown eyes gives a sneaking look. “They’ll thank me for this once they return from their adventure…” The girl snickers to herself to her enjoyment until she hears some yelling.
“LUZ! Where are you? You’re missing the date!” A female voice shouted.
“Coming, Ami!” The girl flies away from her staff, leaving the Switch as the only glowing object in Willow’s bedroom
Paldea Region
His vision is now a pitch of darkness. He doesn’t know exactly what has happened within the past couple of minutes. With a groan, Hunter opens his eyes to begin to notice…he’s not in Willow’s room anymore.
“Huh?” Hunter puts a hand over his head and takes a look around his surroundings and sees himself in a nice-looking, organized room.
“Captain?” Hunter gets up from the bed and tries to call out his girlfriend’s name. “Sunshine! Where are you?” The blond boy walks over to a desk and notices a journal that reads “Tips and Guides to a Pokemon Adventure.” Hunter’s eyes widened upon reading that, seeing the word Pokemon in his vision.
“No, it couldn’t be…” Hunter whispered. There’s no way he could believe it’s real. “This has to be a dream…Sunshine!” Hunter calls out to his girlfriend.
He notices that he’s on the second floor of a house, and walks over to the stairs leading down to the first floor. Could his captain be downstairs?
Downstairs, we see a sleeping Willow laying on the couch in the living room. Sounds like she’s into a deep sleep. Hunter walks down the stairs, entering the first floor seeing his sleeping girlfriend. “Sunshine!” He runs to her and shakes her body abruptly to wake her up.
The flyer derby captain wakes up with a yawn and with droopy eyes on her face. “Oh…cutie pie…” She puts on her glasses to get a clear vision of her surroundings. “Huh? This isn’t home…where are we?”
“Wait…let’s take some steps back. What happened earlier?” Willow asked.
“Let’s see…we were in your bedroom and I was playing my Pokemon game.” Hunter said, recalling the events from before.
“Then, your Switch glowed. Did you think something happened to us with it?” Willow asked.
“Actually…I do. This might sound crazy…but I think…we’re in the game itself.” Hunter responded.
Willow’s eyes widen when she hears what her boyfriend said. “What? Really? What made you think?”
“Well, when I was upstairs, I found this.” Hunter holds up the journal that he found in the bedroom which he has Willow reading.
“Tips and Guides to a Pokemon Adventure?” Willow said.
“Uh-huh. Captain, I think we’re in the Pokemon world now!” Hunter shouted.
“Woah…we’re…in a video game?” Willow asked. It’s a bit hard for her to process being in a video game, but her magic trick was simple enough that both of them are in the world of Pokemon. “Wow, I can’t believe it worked. We’re in Hunter’s video game! You know, it might be fun to spend some time here.”
“I can’t believe it…we’re in Pokemon! We’re in Pokemon!” Hunter cheered happily, raising his fists up. Willow giggles at her boyfriend’s excitement, not one single regret of her magic bringing them into the game themselves. She looks over to a kitchen counter and notices a note on there.
“What’s that?” Willow asked. Hunter stops his excitement and pulls his attention to the note there.
Both of them take a look at the note as Willow reads it. “Dear Mr. Noceda and Ms. Park, we are glad for you to join us in our semester here at the Uva Academy at the large city of Mesagoza in the Paldea region. Since it’s your first time here in Paldea, we would like for both of you to select the Pokemon you would like to travel with. From Director Clavell.”
“Wait, Pokemon? Where’s the Pokemon?” Willow asked. Hunter then sees a suitcase next to the letter and opens it up. The couple takes a look inside of it and gasps by the contents in the briefcase: 3 Pokeballs.
“Wait, sunshine, this must be where the starter Pokemon are. We’re actually going to have our own Pokemon.” Hunter said.
“And it also says an Academy. A Pokemon Academy? That seems very different from Hexside.” Willow said, raising an eyebrow.
“Hey, maybe we’ll see some new classmates to meet.” Hunter chuckled. “Now, let’s see what’s inside of this Pokeball.” He grabs one of the Pokeballs and tosses it to the ground, revealing a tiny Pokemon with a red and yellow color scheme, and a snout on its face with a happy smile on its face. “Fue!”
“Ooh! That looks cute! What is that?” Willow asked.
“I’m not sure…it looks to be a fire type. Fire types are notorious for breathing hot fire from their mouths.” Hunter said.
“That’s good that you know so much about these types, cookie.” Willow said.
Hunter blushes at the nickname she just gave him. First time she called him a cookie, I mean, is she that cheesy to call him that? She loves him for him.
“Okay, let’s see what I got.” Willow proceeds to drop her Pokeball to the ground. Emerging from the Pokeball is a cat-like Pokemon with a mostly green body and sharp teeth on its mouth.
“Sprig!”
“Aww…a kitty! But it’s green…” Willow wondered.
“Must be a grass-type. Most grass types have a green body of their own.” Hunter said, taking a look at Willow’s Pokemon. The green cat Pokemon screeches when it notices Hunter moving closer to it as it runs away in fear to the living room of the house.
“Oh! I didn’t scare it…did I?” Hunter asked his girlfriend.
“Maybe…it’s probably not ust used to us yet.” Willow responded. She walks over to the green cat as it cowers in fear. “Hey, little buddy, don’t worry.”
The grass cat takes a gander at Willow as she smiles and giggles at it. “Hey, it’s okay. My name is Willow Park. I’m a friend to all things plant-related. I can be a friend of yours if you let me be…” Willow reaches her hand out to the green Pokemon.
The green Pokemon walks over to Willow’s hand and begins to lick it, causing the plant girl to giggle by its kindness. “Aww, you’re so cute!” Willow picks up the grass cat and cuddles with it. “I do wish I know what your name is, though…”
Hunter kneels down to his new Pokemon. “Hey, little friend. My name is Hunter Noceda. You look not so bad at all. In fact, you're probably one of the funniest Pokemon I’ve seen already. I may not be an expert to a Pokemon trainer, but I hope you can be my friend.”
The tiny red Pokemon makes a happy sound at Hunter as it jumps up to his arms. Hunter giggles at his new Pokemon friend, which also is his first Pokemon. Both he and Willow walk next to each other seeing their new partners.
“So what happens now? Do we go to our new school now?” Willow asked.
“Hmm…probably. It’s probably our first day at the academy. Maybe we should go there and check.” Hunter responded.
Then, a knock is heard on the door. Both Hunter and Willow hear the knock then they look at each other in question. “Who’s that?” Willow asked.
“I’m not sure…” Hunter said.
Both of them walk over to the front door and they put down their new Pokemon as Hunter opens the front door. When they open the door, they see a girl with tanned skin, black hair with a couple of green streaks of hair running down her face, wearing a white vest with a red tie, orange shorts with black stockings, and red and white sneakers.
“Hola! You must be the new students to the Uva Academy, aren’t you?” The girl asked.
“Oh…umm…we probably are…” The couple answered, nervously. Sweat tears dropping down from their faces as the girl laughs in response.
“Oh, you’re so silly! My name is Nemona, Uva Academy’s student council girl!” The girl takes a look at the couple’s wardrobe. “Hmm…your outfits are…unusual. You’re not from around here, are you?”
Both Hunter and Willow gasp in surprise by Nemona’s comment. “Oh…um, excuse us, please?” The couple turn around and whisper without Nemona hearing. “What should we do? We can’t tell her we’re from another universe.” Willow said.
“Yeah. It would be worse if she finds out we’re witches too. She could overreact like how the human realm would react. Let’s just say we’re from a farther region.” Hunter said.
Willow nods in agreement to what her boyfriend says. “And no magic uses, either.”
“Right.” Hunter said. The two turn back to look at Nemona. “Sorry about that. We were just talking about our plans in this region.”
“Oh, and so who you two might be? Where did you fly from?” Nemona asked.
“My name is Hunter Noceda, and this is my girlfriend, Willow Park. We’ve come from the…uh…” Hunter tries to come up with a region that he would live in. “Unova! We’ve come from the Unova region!”
“Oh, bueno! That’s so cool! I recently heard of a new academy being built around that region, but for now, it’s our first day in Uva! Though, you’re not in school uniform…you do know that all students must wear their uniforms, right?” Nemona asked.
“Well…not really. We’re just new here…” Hunter said, nervously, a few sweat tears running down his face.
“Don’t worry about it! Your school uniforms should be upstairs. Just go get changed and we can walk together to our first day of the academy!” Nemona said.
“Alrighty then. Let’s go, sunshine.” Both Hunter and Willow walk up the stairs while Nemona takes a gaze at the loving couple.
“Hmmm…those two…they kinda remind me of me and Florian…No! There’s no way. Florian doesn’t always call me cute names. I wonder where he’s up to now? I just hope he’s prepared for our next battle together.” Nemona smiles at the thought of her…wait…friend…is it boyfriend?
Upstairs, both Hunter and Willow got to talking again. “What just happened?” Willow asked.
“I don’t know. That girl seems quite too friendly.” Hunter said.
“And school uniforms? Just like Hexside? What, are there coven tracks too?” Willow asked.
“I don’t know, sunshine. This all seems new, but also exciting for me. I just don’t know how it all happened.” Hunter said.
“Me neither…” Willow wondered. “All you did was make a wish…”
“And it suddenly became true!” Hunter finishes his girlfriend’s sentence.
“Wait…I’ve never heard of wishes in the Boiling Isles becoming true.” Willow said.
“Well, we do live in a magical world. Maybe the Collector was around and overheard us.” Hunter said.
“That could be true, he’s like a kid, so I can’t blame him for sending us to a video game world.” Willow said.
“This is still exciting! We get to have Pokemon of our own and even have a journey too!” Hunter said, with a growing smile on his face.
“Yeah, and the best part…we’re together.” Willow gives a wink at Hunter which he blushes in response.
“Heh…I guess there’s no other person I’d rather be with than you…” Hunter nervously chuckles, while scratching his head.
“Oh! That reminds me…are we able to go back home, though?” Willow wondered.
“Hmmm…I’m not sure. Why don’t you give it a try?” Hunter asked.
Willow raises her finger to draw a magic circle, but nothing happens. “Huh, that’s weird.” She tries it again, but nothing still happens.
“My magic, it’s not working.” Willow said.
“Really? Does it not work in this world?” Hunter asked.
“Maybe not. That could mean…” Willow responded.
“We can’t get back home!” The couple exclaimed in unison.
“Oh no…we can’t return to the Boiling Isles! What are we going to do?” Willow asked in concern.
“I don’t know! What about our friends?” Hunter asked.
“Luz, Amity, Gus, the Flyer Derby team…” Willow said.
“Mama…and your dads…” Hunter begins to form tears in his face, knowing he’s already missing his mom.
“I can’t believe it…there’s no escape. We’re stuck in here forever…this is all my fault…” Willow said, slumping against her boyfriend’s shoulders.
Hunter frowns next to his girlfriend until an idea enters his mind. “Wait! There is one thing we can do.”
Willow raises up her face to look at Hunter and notices his serious look, awaiting for his answer. “We must beat the game ourselves.”
“Huh?” Willow asked in confusion.
“This might sound crazy, but it would also make sense, but maybe by your magic command, it means that we can’t leave until we become the champion of the region. We have to face the adventure ourselves.” Hunter explained.
“Oh! I get it. So you mean, we must play the game ourselves, literally.” Willow said.
“Exactly! Look, I know it’s a lot to handle this time, but this would be a fun experience, don’t you think? We may have our Pokemon now too, but remember, we have each other. We’re Hunter and Willow, boyfriend and girlfriend forever. I love you more than anyone else in the world. We’re a team together. We can do this together and get back home to meet up with everyone again.” Hunter said, his eyes staring at Willow’s eyes, a glimmer of hope that they can do this.
Willow in response, she takes Hunter’s hand and kisses it with a blush appearing on her face. “That’s one of the best things you’ve ever said to me. I love you too, Hunter. Okay, we can do this. After all, I have gained lots of confidence since I first met Luz.
“And that’s what I love the most about you. You’re a strong determined girl. You’re the captain of the team. Maybe you can be a strong Pokemon trainer too.” Hunter proceeds to kiss Willow’s cheek.
Willow once again blushes at the feeling of Hunter’s lips touching her cheek. “You’re a good kisser, you know that?”
“I do love my girlfriend a lot, and I’d love her more if she can travel with me on this adventure.” Hunter said, asking his girlfriend for confirmation.
Willow stares into Hunter’s eyes, she’d love to spend more time with Hunter, and just as he said, it’ll be a fun adventure. Their first big adventure as a couple together. His words of encouragement are enough for her to agree with her lover.
“Yes, let’s do it, babe.” Willow responded, with a big smile on her face.
Hunter gives a big smile on his face, his body filled with excitement. "I love you."
Willow blushes as she responds with a giggle. "I love you too, my Golden Guard."
I'm no Golden Guard. I'm just Hunter Noceda." Hunter said.
"The cutest dork I'm dating, and I just love him so much." Willow smiled at her boyfriend.
Hunter blushes upon hearing his girlfriend’s words. "Hey, I'm just lucky I'm dating my favorite teammate of Flyer Derby. You'll always be my captain."
"Oh, shut up and kiss me, cutie. I'm already way too flustered by your words." Willow smirked.
Hunter says nothing else and gives in his lips to Willow sharing a lip kiss together. To Hunter, it was the most satisfying feeling he ever felt in his life. There's only one girl he wants to kiss with, and it's Willow. She means everything to him.
They let go of their lips 10 seconds later, with Willow giggling at her boyfriend.
"What's so funny?" Hunter asked.
"Oh, nothing. Just thinking how you're such a great kisser already." Willow responded.
"I mean, I did practice kissing after we started dating." Hunter said.
"Oh, really? Who did you kiss?" Willow asked, in curiosity.
"Ummm…" Hunter was nervous to speak out his answer, a few sweat drops running down his face. Willow stares at him awaiting his answer. It only took him almost a minute where he finally reveals his answer.
"A…a picture of you…in your workout clothes." Hunter responded, with a shy voice. He was clearly embarrassed.
Willow lets out a louder giggle at Hunter’s response. "Aw, babe, don't be so embarrassed. I think it's cute that you think of me that way. I mean, your scars are the hottest thing about you. I mean, I'm the lucky one dating the MVP of the team.
"Heh heh. Thanks, captain." Hunter said.
"Now, let’s get ready. That girl said there's clothes up here. I wonder where they're at?" Willow wondering around the room.
Hunter opens a door and sees a couple of outfits hanging up in a closet. "Found them!"
The outfit consists of a white vest, with an orange tie. Included are 2 pairs of orange-striped shorts, and white hats to fit.
“They look completely different from our outfits at Hexside…” Hunter said.
They still look nice. It would be interesting to see how we look in them.” Willow said, examining the outfits.
Both Willow and Hunter take a moment in private to change into their new outfits. Minutes later, they reveal their new outfits to each other. Hunter wears the white hat with the white vest and orange tie and orange-striped shorts, while Willow doesn’t wear a hat, rather a daisy flower pinned to her hair, and wears the same white vest and orange-striped shorts like Hunter.
“I'd say these look pretty good. Unusual, but I like the uniform.” Willow said, admiring her outfit.
“I love that daisy on your head. It looks really cute.” Hunter said, kissing his girlfriend’s forehead.
“Awww…thanks, honey bunny.” Willow blushes, rubbing the side of her cheek. “You look very handsome yourself. That tie looks good on you.”
“Heh heh. I never wore a tie before, but I might as well wear it. I just wasn’t sure if my girlfriend loves it.” Hunter chuckled, rubbing his arm in nervous mode.
“I love everything about you, pookie. You’ll be my pookie and always my pookie.” Willow smiled.
The two were about to share another lip kiss together, closing their eyes, but the moment was interrupted when a door knock was heard. “Hunter! Willow! Are you two ready?” It was Nemona next to the bedroom door.
They both sigh in defeat. “So much for another kiss together.” Hunter said.
“I think we kissed enough for now. Come on, I wonder what this school is all about.” Willow said.
“Maybe it’ll be as good as Hexside.” Hunter said.
Both Willow and Hunter walk out of the room together, making their first marks as Pokémon Trainers together. The start of their own adventure as a couple.
