"W-wait, Maya! Slow down…" Phoenix flushes, glancing away from her. "This is… my first time."
"Wait, seriously?"
He nods.
"What the Hell, Nick? Aren't you, like, twenty-something?"
"Yeah, but it just… never came up."
She looks at him, appalled. "It should have at least happened in college." Then, more quietly, "or high school."
"Yeah, well… it didn't."
"...Hey." She presses a hand to his cheek. "There's no shame in waiting. It just… makes it all the more special when it happens."
He puts his hand on top of hers.
Then she leans in and gives Nick his second kiss, too.
