At Knothole, we see two hedgehog’s approaching the village, before being stopped by Antoine.
Antoine: Halt, travlers. Who are you, and what is being your business here?
The green hedgehog speaks up first.
Rob: My name Robert O’Hedge, and I come here to request the aid of the Freedom Fighters.
Antoine stares for a moment, before lowering his sword and allowing them to enter. Later, we see Rob meeting with the others in the Secret Hideout.
Sally: So, why are you here, Robert?
Rob: Thou can call me Rob, princess. And as for why I’m here, well… hast any of thou heard of Little Planet?
Rotor: That’s the place your Uncle told us about, right Sonic?
Sonic: Yeah, he also said Robotnik had his eye on it.
Rob: Ah, that would explain it. You see, my family has protected it for many a year. But one day, as my sister, Ameilia, was playing near it…
Amelia: That’s me! Hi!
Rob:... She noticed something truly odd. Care to explain, Amelia?
Amy: Oh, sure! And you can all just call me Amy. So, what I saw was…
In the past, we see Amy hanging out near the Little Planet, where she seems to be playing with tarot cards.
Amy: Alright, let’s see what the future holds for me today!
She draws three cards, flipping them over to reveal an hourglass, a compass, and a ghost respectively.
Amy: Hmm, I’ll go on a great journey that has something to do with time, but it will be filled with danger…
She looks around, before placing the danger card back in the deck, shuffling it, before drawing another card with a knight on it.
Amy: Oh, I’m gonna meet a great hero! I wonder if it means… huh?
She hears the sound of an engine, before running over to it, seeing Robotnik, along with his two assistants flying near the ground.
Robotnik: Alright, here it is, gentlemen! Little Planet! Once I get up there, the future will be in my hands, along with the rest of time!
Snively: Sir, are you sure about this? I know that we’ve seen some… unique things over the years, but don’t you think that a planet with the ability to time travel seems a bit… absurd?
Robotnik: We won’t know until we find out! Now, I want you both to stay here while I go up to the planet.
Stone: When should we follow you, doctor?
Robotnik: Trust me, you’ll know. Until then, stay here, got it?
They both nod, before Robotnik flies off.
Amy: Hmm… I better tell Rob about this!
She runs off, before we return to the present.
Sonic: Sounds like Robotnik’s making his move.
Sally: We need to head over there. Rob, can you lead us there?
Rob: Aye! We must make haste! I shudder to think of what that fiend has done to Little Planet…
Sonic: You guys can take the tornado. I’ll go on foot.
Later, we see Sonic running through the woods, eventually stopping on top of a small rock spire. He see’s Little Planet, mechanised and chained up.
Sonic: Hmm… It’ll be hard for this planet to leave if it’s chained up. I wonder where-
He spots the chain leading to a mountain with Robotnik’s face on it.
Sonic: Wow. Subtle.
He looks up, seeing the tornado flying towards Little Planet.
Sonic: Looks like the others are doing okay. Alright, time to kick some Egg-pants!
Amy: Wait!
Sonic looks down, seeing Amy climbing up the rock.
Sonic: Did you… follow me all the way from Knothole?
Amy: You’re not the only one who’s fast! Anyway, hi! I’m Amy, and I’m your number one fan!
Sonic: Really?
Amy: Yeah! I know about all of your adventures, I know about all your moves, and I’m the official president of the unofficial Sonic the Hedgehog fanclub!
Sonic: I’ve got a fanclub?
Amy: Of course! A lot of people really look up to you! Not surprising, considering everything you’ve done for us!
Sonic: Huh… Well, I don’t do autographs, so-
Amy: No, I don’t want an autograph! I want to join you, and help save Little Planet!
Sonic: Woah, aren’t you a little… young for that?
Amy: Hey, you let Tails come along with you, and he doesn’t have this!
She pulls out a hammer.
Sonic: Alright, alright, you’ve definitely got the guts to be a hero, I’ll give you that. You sure you wanna do this? Last chance to back out!
Amy: For the last time, yes!
Sonic: Alright, see you at the top!
Amy: Wait, what?
Sonic jumps off the rock, leaping onto the chain and running up it, following it until it ends in a green pasture. It is there that he runs into the others.

Sonic: Glad to see you all got here okay. Find anything while you were here?
Sally: Not much.
Sonic: Alright. Let’s get moving.
The heroes begin to make their way through the fields, fighting badnik’s as they do.
Sonic: Geez, I thought Rob said Robotnik only got here a few hours ago. How are there this many bots already?
Sally: I guess he works faster than we thought.
They continue to make their way forward, until they reach an odd looking sign with the word Future written on it.
Sonic: What’s this thing about?
Sally: Wait, Rob said this planet held the secret to time travel. So maybe…
Sonic: …This is how they do it! Alright, stand back!
Sonic runs through the sign, causing him to disappear. He reappears in what appears to be the same spot, but the area is gray and orange.

Sonic takes a moment to look around.
Sonic: What the!? I’m gonna need a tetanus booster just running here! I gotta get back.
Sonic makes his way through the area, until he comes across another sign, this one having Past written on it.
Sonic: Alright, finger’s crossed…
Sonic runs through the sign, disappearing and reappearing back in the present. He makes his way back to the others.
Sally: Well, what happened?
Sonic: It was mondo weird! It looked like this place, but it was all… metallic!
Sally: Well, if that sign really did send you to the future, it sounds like you got a taste of what Robotnik has in store for this planet. And Mobius…
Sonic: That’s not gonna happen, Sal! Not on our watch! Come on, guys!
They continue to make their way through the area, until eventually, they come across what look’s like a wrecked machine.
Sonic: What the heck is this?
Rotor begins to inspect it.
Rotor: It looks like some kind of generator! Looks like it’s been broken for ages.
Suddenly, Snively appears from above in a flash of light.
Snively: Alright, that’s the first badnik generator in place. Now for the others…
Snively flies off, not noticing the heroes.
Sally: Now I get it! Robotnik’s putting these generators in the past…
Sonic: So he’ll have a robot army in the present! That’s actually a pretty clever plan, by his standards. Which means we’ll have to work twice as hard to stop it!
Sonic begins looking around, before coming across another past sign.
Sonic: Alright, I’ll go back and smash the generator. Back in a sonic second!
He runs through the sign, disappearing.

He reappears again, with the area looking much more prehistoric.
Sonic: Alright, just gotta find the generator, smash it, then head back. Easy peasy.
He makes his way through the area, until he comes across the generator, looking more intact. He attacks it, breaking it, causing all the nearby badniks to be destroyed.
Sonic: Alright, now to meet back up with the others!
He finds a future sign that he already used, attempting to use it again. However, he ends up running into a nearby hill.
Sonic: Guess I only get one shot with each. Better find another one.
He continues through the fields. Eventually, he comes across what looks a hologram of a metallic version of himself menacing a squirrel.
Sonic: Oh brother, another robot me? Robotnik just can’t take a hint, can he?
Sonic smashes the hologram projector, before finding a future sign. He runs through it, ending up back at the present. However, it looks brighter, with more plants.

Sonic: Huh, guess smashing that generator helped out more than I thought.
Eventually, he meets back up with the others.
Sonic: Alright, generator smashed, guys!
Sally: Generator? That would explain a lot…
Sonic: Whatcha mean, Sal?
Sally: Sonic, we haven’t run into any robots on the way here so far. I thought it was because Robotnik hadn’t come here yet, but…
Sonic: Oh man, this time travel stuff is already making my head hurt. Let’s just keep moving, alright?
They proceed forward, eventually coming across Snively again, who’s communicating with Robotnik
Snively: I’m telling you, sir, I did everything you said!
Robotnik: Oh, really? Then why does the mechanization for Palmtree Panic say zero percent!?
Snively: Well, someone may have destroyed the badnik generator, but the only one who could do that is-
Suddenly, he turns around, seeing the heroes.
Sonic: Hey.
Snively: Sir, the hedgehog and his friends have arrived!
Robotnik: Of course they have… Snively, keep them busy for me. I need to make a few… preparations.
Snively puts the communicator away, before turning to the heroes, pressing a button on his Eggmobile. Suddenly, from above a machine drops from the sky. Snively attaches his Eggmobile to it before the dust settles.
Snively: You were lucky before, rodent, but now you’ll face my wrath!
The air clears, revealing the Eggmobile to have two legs, as well as two bumpers, attached to it. It is also bright pink, to Snively’s shock. Sonic takes a moment to take in the sight, before beginning to laugh.
Sonic: Oh yeah, I’m SO afraid of your bright pink wrath!
Snively: What!? No, this isn’t- it can’t- I swear it was red- Gah! This is all your fault, you wretched hedgehog! You’ll pay for this!

The machine begins to walk forward, extending its bumpers forward as he does. Sonic attempts to attack it, but the bumpers bounce him off. Afterwards, Sonic rolls under the machine, and begins to attack it, destroying it easily. Afterwards, Snively flies away on a jetpack.
Sonic: Wow, I think that was a record for ”fastest I’ve wrecked an Eggman robot”.
The heroes proceed forward, before breaking a capsule. Suddenly, they here a voice. They turn, seeing an owl standing near where the capsule was.
Owl: Thank you for that. I was starting to get tired of all the metal. Quite the eyesoar, if you ask me.
Sonic: Uh, thanks. Who are you?
Tyme: Ah yes, where are my manners? Tyme’s the name. Nick O’Tyme.
Sonic: Seriously?
Tyme: I thought you, of all people, would appreciate a good pun, Sonic.
Sonic: You know who I am?
Tyme: I know many things. For example, I know you’re here to defeat Robotnik, and I can help you with that. Tell me, do you know how Little Planet can let people travel through time?
Sonic: No…
Tyme: It is thanks to seven gems, known as the Time Stones. They are what grant this planet its… unique properties. And unfortunately, Robotnik was able to get his hands on one of them. That is how he is able to send his henchmen into the past. If he gets his hands on all of them at once, he’ll be able to change history itself to suit his own desires, and I’m sure none of you want that to happen.
Sally: So how are we going to stop him?
Tyme: Simple, princess. We’ll get the Time Stones before he does!
He slams his cane onto the ground, causing a giant ring to appear.
Tyme: Through that ring lies the Time Stone that resides here. Sonic, I’m sure you’ll be more than capable of retrieving it.
Sonic: You got that right! See you soon!

Sonic runs through the ring, ending up in an odd looking city, surronded with flying saucers.
Sonic: Hmm… maybe one of those saucers has the Time Stone!
Sonic begins to destroy the saucers, until eventually, the last one drops the Time Stone. As he grabs it, he is teleported back to where he was before.
Tyme: Excellent work. Now, you’ll find the next time stone near the Collision Chaos. Good luck to you all!
Tyme walks behind a tree and disappears.
Sonic: Something’s up with that guy.
Sally: Maybe, but he’s trying to help us, and that’s the important part. Come on.
The heroes begin to make their way forward. Back at Robotnik’s lair, he is meeting with his assistants.
Robotnik: Snively, while you may have failed in stopping the Freedom Fighters, your warning did allow me the opportunity to inform my greatest creation of their arrival, so you WERE good for something, at least.
Snively: Thank you, sir.
Stone: Speaking of this “creation”, doctor, you still haven’t told us what it is yet.
Robotnik: That’s because I was waiting for the perfect moment, Stone, and now it’s here!
Robotnik turns to a door.
Robotnik: You can come in now!
The door opens, and a blue robot with a resemblance to Sonic walks in with glowing red eyes.
Robotnik: Gentlemen, it’s my honor to introduce you… to Metal Sonic!
The two look at Metal with slightly hesitant looks.
Robotnik: What is it?
Stone: Oh, it’s nothing sir, it’s just…
Snively: Well, using Sonic robots hasn’t worked out well for you in the past, sir.
Robotnik: I know that! That’s why I made Metal Sonic different! Not only is he stronger than the others, but I built him to be as fast as Sonic himself! And, to add the cherry on top, I added a new device I was working on; The emotional enhancement chip!
Stone: But I thought the robots having emotions was a bad thing.
Robotnik: That’s what I thought too, but as I thought about it, I realized how important emotions are! Yes, they can cloud judgment, but they can also focus it! So, I constructed Metal to be the best of both worlds! The emotional complexity of an organic, and the flawless logic of a machine! The unbeatable combination!
Metal Sonic turns to them both, before reaching a hand to each of them. Hesitantly, they take each, only for Metal to begin to shake them, causing both to wince in pain.
Robotnik: Alright, now that we have introductions out of the way, it’s time for your first assignment Metal.
He walks over to a computer, before typing on it, before bringing up a birds eye view of Little Planet.
Robotnik: According to my sources, Sonic and the rest of the Freedom Fighters should be heading towards the Collision Chaos. Your first task is to head out there and kill them all! Understand?
Metal nods.
Robotnik: Good! Now move out!
Metal Sonic flies off.

Later, we see the heroes approach Collision Chaos.
Sally: Alright, Nick said that the next time stone should be here, so we should-
Amy: There you are!
They turn, seeing a very cross pink hedgehog coming towards them.
Sonic: Amy!?
Amy:Do you know what I’ve had to put up with since you ditched me? I had to climb up that chain, and then I had to look all over Palmtree Panic, just to find out you weren't even THERE, so I had to come all the way over here just to meet up with you!
Amy’s scowl quickly turns into a smile.
Amy: Ah, but it’s all gonna be worth it! Because now, I can finally, really start my adventure with you! So, lead the way, Sonic!
Sonic looks around, before Sally taps on his shoulder.
Sally: A word, Sonic?
Sonic: Alright…
Sonic and Sally walk over.
Sally: Alright, explain.
Sonic: Okay, so while I was on my way here, I ran into Amy. Turns out, she’s a huge fan of mine, and she wanted to help me save Little Planet. So, I told her to meet me on the planet, and you know the rest.
Sally: Sonic…
Sonic: I know, I know, but I think she’s got some real potential! I mean, she’s got a hammer, and I’m pretty sure she knows how to use it!
Sally: Maybe, but don’t you think she’s a little… young?
Sonic: So’s Tails, and we let him join! Why not her?
Sally: …Alright, we’ll give her a shot.
Sonic: Sweet!
The two rejoin the group.
Sonic: Alright, good news-
Suddenly, a wall behind them explodes. From behind it comes Metal Sonic.
Sally: What is that!?
Sonic: I’ve seen this thing before. It’s Eggman’s newest robo-me. Well sorry to tell you, chrome-dome, but Little Planet ain’t big enough for two Sonic’s!
He attempt to attack, but Metal dodges, before responding with an attack of his own, knocking Sonic on his back.
Sonic: “He… he dodged my attack. No one’s dodged my attack before.”
Amy: I’ll help you, Sonic!
Amy pulls out her hammer and charges at Metal Sonic, who grabs the hammer, flinging it away, before picking Amy up by the shirt, extending his hand back. Before he can attack, however, Robotnik contacts him through a built-in communicator.
Robotnik: Wait! I’ve got an idea. Bring her back to the base, alive!
Metal Sonic lowers his hand, before flying off with Amy.
Sonic: Oh, that’s not good…
Sally: We have to get her back!
Tails: But we still have to find the Time Stones, remember?
Sally: I’ve got an idea. Rotor, Bunnie, Antoine and Tails will go look for Amy, while me and Sonic will keep looking for the Time Stones.
Everyone: Right!
The others depart, leaving Sonic and Sally alone.
Sonic: You sure you didn’t just want an excuse for us to get some… alone time?
Sally: Let’s worry about that later. We’ve got some robots to smash.
The two make their way through the area, with Sonic accidentally running through a Future sign.

Sonic continues to make his way through the bad future, while Metal carries a struggling Amy towards Robotnik above him. Eventually, he ends up back in the present, before making his way over to a Past sign, running through it.

After making his way through the area, he comes across another generator, which he destroys. After a while, he makes his way back to the present, destroying a hologram in the process.
Elsewhere, Metal Sonic has brought Amy to Robotnik.
Robotnik: Very good, Metal! I knew I could rely on you!
Robotnik rubs Metal Sonic’s head, before turning to Amy.
Robotnik: You know, this place is very dangerous, especially for little girls like you. So tell me, what are you doing so far from home?
Amy: I’m here to save Little Planet from you, ugly!
Robotnik: Ugly!? Now that’s just hurtful!
Amy: Yeah, and so’s this!
Amy summons her hammer, and attempts to attack Robotnik with it, but is stopped by Metal, who holds her off the ground by her shirt.
Robotnik: I thought you got rid of that thing!
Amy: He did, but I summoned it back!
Robotnik: Oh really? How, with some sort of magnet, or a homing device?
Amy: It’s magic, you jerk!
Robotnik: Oh, so you’re a little sorceress, are you? That’s adorable! Metal, please escort our guest to her room? And try to be gentle with her. After all, if you’re not, she might curse you!
Robotnik laughs as Metal drags Amy away.
Amy: This isn’t over, Robotnik! I’ll get outta here, and when I do-!
Her threat is cut off before she can finish it.
Robotnik: Finally, I think my ears are ringing…
Meanwhile, Sonic and emerges in the present, which looks healthier then when he left it. He rejoins with Sally.

Sonic: Alright, another generator down! Let’s go get us a Time Stone!
They make their way through the area, before eventually coming across what looks like a giant pinball machine.
Sonic: I’m getting a real nasty sense of Deja Vu…

Suddenly, from above, cannonballs begin to rain down from the sky.
Sally: Looks like we’ve got company!
Sonic: I’ll take care of it!
Sonic uses the machines around the area to get himself closer to the machine, operated by Stone, before attacking it, causing Stone to flee. Afterwards, he carries Sally up to another area.
Sonic: Yeesh, 0-2 on robots. I mean, I know I always beat them, but it’s like Ro-butt-nik’s not even trying anymore!
They move forward, eventually coming across Nick O’Tyme, relaxing near another capsule, which Sonic breaks.
Tyme: You fancy Pinball, Sonic? The doctor certainly does. I wonder why?
Sonic: We can worry about that later, Nick. Think you can open another one of those portals?
Tyme: Ah, yes, one moment.
Tyme opens another portal, which Sonic enters. A few minutes later, he comes out again with another Time Stone.
Sonic: Thanks for the help, Nick. Nick?
He and Sally turn, but Nick is nowhere in sight.
Sonic: How’d he do that?
Sally: We can worry about that later, Sonic. Let’s keep moving.
Sonic: Hope the others are doing alright.
The two press onwards.

We see them approach a temple, with a ramp that leads downwards into water.
Sonic: Oh man, more water! I’ve had enough water for a lifetime!
Sally: Alright, maybe we can find another way to-
Suddenly, a robot flies in from behind them, knocking them both into the water. Eventually, they both manage to climb out, soaking wet.
Sonic: Yep, still hate water. Oh, this is gonna suck!
Sally: Well, if you could handle the Death Egg by yourself, I think you can handle taking a bath with me. Come on, let’s keep moving.
They proceed onwards.

Meanwhile, we see Robotnik fishing with Metal Sonic in the future. Amy is also tied up nearby.
Robotnik: Alright, so what you want to do is tie a rope around the bait and-
Suddenly, Metal Sonic stands up. He begins to charge up his chest booster, before firing a large ball of energy from it into the lake. The lake explodes into a burst of water, emptying it, and sending fish flying everywhere. Metal Sonic floats back down, giving Robotnik a thumbs up. Robotnik is silent for a moment, before he bursts out laughing.
Robotnik: Haha! That’s my boy! A chip of the ol’ block, aren’t ya?
He pats Metal on the back.
Amy: I’m surprised! Given what I’ve heard I didn’t think that you could feel anything at all!
Robotnik: There’s a lot you don’t know about me, pinky. For example, what my brilliant master plan is!
Amy: Oh really? Then enlighten me, “oh brilliant one!” What is your grand design for this planet?
Robotnik: Well, since you asked so “nicely”, I suppose I could let you in on my plan. You see, when I learned this planet had the ability to let others travel through time, I was ecstatic! I thought that all I had to do was travel to the past on Little Planet, then head back to Mobius, and conquer the world early! But of course, it wasn’t that easy. I discovered that the time distortion on Little Planet was contained to Little Planet. Whenever I tried to leave it in the past, I’d just end up back in the present. So, I did a little digging, and that’s when I discovered how Little PLanet could move through time: the Time Stone’s. From there, I had a new mission: Retrieve the Time Stones. Once I gather them all, I’ll be able to create a new timeline, where I always win!
Robotnik laughs as Amy looks nervous.
Meanwhile, the two continue to make their way through the temple, until they eventually came across a past sign, with Sonic running through it.

Sonic arrives in the past, before getting sucked up by a tube, and being carried elsewhere. Eventually, he is spat out on top of a robot, destroying it. He turns, seeing the generator. He destroys it, before turning and making his way forward, eventually, he is able to jump out of the water, before running through a Future sign.

In the present, Snively is flying in an Eggmobile.
Snively: Dr. Robotnik said the rodent would be here somewhere. Once I find him, I should be able to occupy him long enough for Dr. Robotnik to finish moving the girl to the Metallic Madness. Now, where are you, rodent?
Snively flies forward, not noticing Sonic emerging from the sign. He looks around, noticing the area seemingly being converted into an aquarium.
Sonic: Huh, this place is looking better already!
Sonic continues to make his way forward, eventually following Snively into an arena.
Snively: Welcome, rodent! You got lucky before, but this time, you're mine!

Snively presses a button, causing a shield of bubbles to form around his Eggmobile. Sonic begins to inhale the bubbles as Snively attempts to attack him. Eventually, he is able to land a hit on Snively, causing him to flee.
Snively: Uncle, why are your machines so useless!?
Sonic makes his way forward, running into both Sally and Nick.
Sally: Looks like you were right, Nick.
Nick: Being right has nothing to do with it! It’s all a matter of time.
He opens a portal, which Sonic runs through. He emerges later with another Time Stone.
Nick: Alright, next you’ll want to be heading for the Quartz Quadrant. You’ll know it when you see it.
The heroes press onwards.

Eventually, the two arrive at the entrance of a mining facility.
Sonic: Alright, let’s get to work.
They enter the facility, making their way past the obstacles and badniks. Eventually, they come across a past sign, which Sonic runs through. Afterwards, he breaks the generator, before pressing onwards, eventually breaking a hologram as well.

Meanwhile, we see Stone guarding a tied up Amy elsewhere in the facility.
Amy: So, where’s your boss, huh? Is he too good to spend his time guarding me himself?
Stone: For your information, Dr. Robotnik is trying to defeat Sonic and the heroes himself. So he left me behind to make sure you didn’t try anything stupid.
Amy: Hah! Not sure why he bothers! He never wins!
Stone: Correction: Hasn’t won, yet.
As they talk, we see the other Freedom Fighters hiding behind a crystal.
Rotor: Alright, everyone remember the plan?
Everyone nods.
Rotor: Alright, here we go!
Tails jumps out from behind a crystal.
Tails: Hey, Agent Snotwad! You couldn’t catch me if I was standing still!
Tails flies off, with Stone chasing after him. Once he’s gone, the others come out, with Antoine cutting the ropes.
Bunnie: You alright, darlin’?
Amy: That… was… AWESOME! I just got rescued by the Freedom Fighters! Oh, this is the greatest day of my LIFE!
Antoine: Yes well, I am thinking that it will be getting greaterer once we are away from here.
Amy: Oh, right!
Suddenly, Tails flies back.
Tails: I lost him! Let’s go!
The heroes, along with Amy, run off.

Meanwhile, Sonic has emerged from the Future sign, with the present looking brighter than before. He proceeds forward, taking in the sights, before eventually coming across Robotnik in a piston.
Sonic: So, you finally decided to take care of me yourself, huh? Took you long enough, Eggman!
Robotnik: Well, I figured we were past due for one of our little… duals. And this machine isn’t like anything you’ve seen before! So come on, Sonic! Let’s see how fast you can REALLY go!
The capsule drops, and the conveyor belt activates, moving towards a wall of spikes. Sonic begins to run, while Robotnik drops spiked balls from above.
Robotnik: Give it up, Sonic! You can’t run forever!
Sonic: I don’t have to, just long enough to outlive THAT.

As he’s been running, Robotnik’s piston has slowly been getting shredded, eventually causing the machine to malfunction, causing Robotnik to jump out and fly off on a jetpack. Sonic runs over to a capsule, breaking it, before Nick O’Tyme emerges, opening a portal. After Sonic runs through it, and collects another Time Stone, he pauses for a brief moment.
Sonic: Yo, Nick, where’s Sal?
Nick looks away for a brief moment.
Nick: Sonic, I’m afraid I’ve got some bad news…
Meanwhile, we see Robotnik meet back up with Stone.
Stone: Alright, Doctor. I’ve got good news and bad news. The bad news is, we lost the Hedgehog girl.
Robotnik: What!?
Stone: BUT - but, I managed to find someone even better!
He snaps his fingers, causing two Swatbots to march in, holding Sally.
Robotnik: Alright, Stone. Just this once, I’ll forgive your failure. But try not to screw up again in the future, for your own sake. Now, let’s get moving!
They all begin to leave the area.

We see Sonic approaching a large factory. He begins to make his way through it, using the bouncy floors and pistons to his advantage. Eventually, runs through a Future sign, ending up in a broken down factory.

He ends up coming across a statue of Robotnik, with Nick O’Tyme standing in front of it.
Sonic: Yo, Nick, you gotta help me get Sally back, man!
Nick: I’m afraid I can’t do that Sonic. I may have dominion over time and space, but that doesn’t mean I can throw a punch. If I were to take you to Robotnik now, I wouldn’t last very long. However, there is something else I can do.
He opens a portal.
Sonic: Little early, isn’t it?
Nick: I’ll have you know that I’m never early, or late. I always appear exactly when I’m supposed to. Perk of being as I am. Now, go on!
Sonic jumps through the portal, acquiring a Time Stone, and causing the future to change, making the factory more intact. He moves forward, before eventually, the door closes behind him. Suddenly, Snively descends in a machine.
Sonic: Look, needlenose, I’m kinda in a rush here, so can we make this quick?
Snively: By all means, rodent! Catch me if you can!

Snively ascends, digging pieces of the ceiling out and causing them to fall to the floor. Afterwards, he activates the bouncy floor, with Sonic using the pieces of debris to jump upwards and attack Snively. After a few more cycles of this, Sonic is able to destroy the machine, causing Snively to flee. Afterwards, Sonic breaks a capsule. However, he sees that the other Freedom Fighters are there.
Tails: Sonic, we did it! We saved Amy!
Sonic: Good job, Tails, but now we’ve got a bigger problem! Bolthead nabbed Sal!
Bunnie: Then what in the heck are we just standing around here for, sugah-hog? Let’s get a move on!
The heroes take off for their next destination.

We see the heroes approaching a starlight city, with lights shining everywhere.
Sonic: Alright guys, you know what to do. Find Sal, and get outta here.
Everyone nods, before taking off. As they go, Amy proves her effectiveness with her hammer, sestroying badniks left and right. Eventually, we see Sonic make his way back to the past.

We see Sonic make his way through the greenery covered city, eventually destroying both the generator and the hologram.

He returns to the present, which is brighter, before meeting up with the others. They press onwards, eventually running into Metal Sonic. Robotnik descends from the sky on his Eggmobile.
Robotnik: Ah, Sonic! It’s about time you showed up!
Sonic: Hilarious, Ro-butt-nik. Now where’s Sal?
Robotnik: Your little girlfriend? A-a-all the way at the end of this marvelous race course! She’s all yours, if you can get to her first! Otherwise, the blast doors at the end will seal her in with Metal Sonic! Fall too far behind, and I’ll be sending your friends home with an urn of your ashes! Heh-heh-heh!
Sonic: Metal Sonic, huh? That’s pretty cool. Kinda lame all that style and power is for kidnapping civilians, though. But if it’s a race you want, it’s a race you’ll get! Three-two-one-GO!

Robotnik: Wha-buh-wait! That’s cheating!
Metal Sonic perseus, with Robotnik following with his laser. The two hedgehogs begin their pursuit, with Sonic dodging the traps placed by Robotnik, and Metal electrifying his body and using his booster to gain the advantage. However, Sonic ultimately prevails, entering the door, before the door closes. Metal attempts to stop himself, but can’t before he crashes into the door, falling onto the streets below.
Robotnik: NO!
Sonic: Heh, you really oughta learn some new tricks, doc! This whole “robot me” thing is really starting to get old.
The look of horror on Robotnik's is quickly replaced by a look of pure rage.
Robotnik: You… YOU’LL PAY FOR THIS!
Robotnik flies down after Metal Sonic.
Sonic: Geez, he’s really mad I broke his toy.
Sonic free’s Sally from her ropes, and she hugs him, kissing him on the cheek.
Sally: Thanks for help, Sonic.
Sonic: Hey, was there any doubt?
The others come over, with the blast door having opened after Robotnik left.
Tails: That was amazing, Sonic!
Amy: Yeah, that stupid robot didn’t stand a chance!
Sonic: Thanks, guys. Now come on, we’ve still got some work to do!
They move forwards. Nick appears, opening another portal, which Sonic uses to get another TIme Stone.
Nick: Sonic, I must warn you. That is the last Time Stone you’ll be able to obtain from me. The last one is in Robotnik’s clutches.
Sonic: Don’t worry, Nick! We’ll get it back!
Nick: Of that, I have no doubt.
The heroes proceed onwards. Below, Robotnik recovers Metal Sonic, being surprisingly gentle as he moves him to the Eggmobile with a sorrowful look on his face.
Robotnik: Don’t worry, Metal. I’ll make that rat pay for what he’s done to you.
Robotnik flies off, with a darker look on his face.
Robotnik: Oh yes, they’ll ALL pay!

We see the heroes enter Robotnik’s fortress, the Metallic Madness.
Sonic: Alright, this is it, everyone. Let’s get moving!
Everyone begins to make their way through the fortress. As they do, Amy and Sally talk.
Amy: So, I couldn’t help but notice the way you… “thanked” Sonic for freeing you.
Sally: Oh that? That was just… um…
Amy: Hehe! It’s alright to admit you have a crush on him! After all, it takes one to know one!
Sally: Wait, you-
Amy: Yep! And can you blame me? He’s so cool, and smart, and funny, and handsome-!
Sally: Well, if that’s the case, I thought you’d be a little more upset about my crush - which I may or may not have.
Amy: Oh, I’m a little hurt, but I could never stand in the way between true love! It’s the most precious thing in the universe! So don’t wait too long to tell him, alright? Life’s too short, after all!
Sally: Right. Thanks.
Eventually, Sonic heads back to the past.

Sonic destroys the final generator and the final hologram. He returns to the present, meeting back up with the other. They continue to make their way forward, until they come across a large arena. Suddenly, from above, Agent Stone descends from the ceiling in a machine with many large pistons sticking out of it.
Stone: Welcome to the factory! Time for you to leave.

Stone attempts to crush Sonic with the pistons, before they fire out, attempting to crush Sonic. Sonic dodges all of these attacks, before Sonic attacks, causing one of the pistons to fall off. The process repeats itself twice with Sonic attacking, causing two pistons to fall off. Once there is only one left, Stone attempts to crush Sonic with the piston, but Sonic attacks again, causing the machine to break, and for Stone to retreat.
Sonic: Alright, Robotnik, where are you? Come on up, so we can wrap this up!
Robotnik: With pleasure.

From below, a large robot with Robotnik’s likeness emerges from below, attempting to crush Amy. Sonic knocks Amy out of the way.
Amy: Hey! How dare you try to hit a lady!
Amy attempts to attack the hand with her hammer, doing nothing.
Robotnik: Oh please.
A laser from the eye of the machine hits Amy, knocking her back.
Sonic: Hey! Not cool!
Sonic attacks the machine’s nose, but it does nothing.
Robotnik: Nice try, Sonic, but I built this thing to be immune to all your little tricks! There’s nothing you can do to stop me this time!
Sonic: Time… maybe if I…
Sonic pulls out the Time Stones. Suddenly, they begin to glow as Robotnik’s machine begins to shake. Suddenly, the last Time Stone tears out of the machine’s chest, leaving a giant hole.
Robotnik: What!? Why you-!
The machine’s second hand tries to crush Sonic, but he dodges. As he runs, the Time Stones begin to glow. Suddenly, the machine and the hand begin moving in reverse.
Sonic: Alright! Looks like the Time Stones are giving us the edge! Let’s do this!
Sonic runs forward again, charged with Time Energy, causing the hands of the machine to disappear.
Robotnik: Ergh, I’m not giving up yet!
Robtonik fires another laser at Sonic, who is hit, ending up frozen in time, causing him to drop the Time Stones. Robotnik tries to grab them, but Amy gets to them first.
Amy: This is for kidnapping me, you jerk!
Robotnik: What- hey! Get back here, you little brat!
Amy runs off, with Robotnik chasing after her in the machine, trying to shoot her with eye-lasers. As she runs, she becomes imbued with temporal energy. Eventually, the temporal energy causes the machine to move backwards in time, which also free’s Sonic. The laser explodes in Robotnik’s face, causing the head of the machine to be blown off.
Sonic: Woah, that was way past cool, Amy!
Robotnik: I’m not done yet, Sonic!
Robotnik presses a button, causing a generator to emerge from his cockpit, which form new hands for the machine, as well as a holographic head. Robotnik tries to crush them both again, with spiked balls dropping from the ceiling, but they avoid him. The two then begin to attack the machine, with Amy eventually destroying the hologram, allowing Sonic to wreck the generator, which causes the machine to explode as well.
Robotnik: Impossible!
The machine falls below, exploding. Robotnik rises from above in the Eggmobile, attempting to fly away. However, the Freedom Fighters give chase. Amy throws her hammer at Robotnik, causing it to crash down, with Sonic eventually getting in front of it as it stops.
Robotnik: I don’t understand! I was supposed to beat you this time!
Sonic: Guess I missed that part, since I beat you every time! And speaking of Time, your’s here just ran out!
Sonic begins to run around the Eggmobile as the Time Stones glow with power.
Robotnik: Wait, stop! What are you doing!?
Eventually, the Time Stones release a large wave of temporal energy, which blows Robotnik away.
Robotnik: I HATE THAT HEDGEHOG!
As Robotnik is sent flying, the remaining damage he caused to Little Planet is undone by the wave. Suddenly, from behind the heroes, Nick O’Tyme walks forward.
Nick: Well done, all of you! Because of you, Little Planet has been saved, along with the rest of time and space!
Sonic: No problem-o, Nick! Saving things is kinda what we do!
Later, we see the heroes gathered near the Tornado.
Sonic: You know, Nick, I’ve been thinking. What if we could use the Time Stone’s power for good? Like, we could make it so that he never came into power in the first place!
Nick: I’m sure that seems like it would help. However, there’s something about time travel you must understand. When you change the past, you don’t change your present. You instead create a new timeline, with your changes accounted for.
Sonic: But I smashed Robotnik’s generator’s, and that changed the present!
Nick: That’s because they were anomalies, Sonic. They were never supposed to exist there. However, if you use the Time Stone’s power to try and change your past, you won’t change your present. However, you’re still able to change your future. Cherish that, Sonic.
Sonic: Alright, I guess I can do that. Thanks for the help, Nick.
Nick: The pleasure was all mine, Sonic. Now, I think it’s time for you to go.
Sonic and the others leave Little Planet as it disappears again. Eventually, the heroes return to Knothole, hosting a celebration.
Sally: It’s my honor as leader of the Freedom Fighters to welcome our newest member, Amy Rose!
She places a badge on Amy’s chest, before Rob runs over to hug her.
Rob: I can scarce believe it! Mine own sister, a member of The Freedom Fighters! I haven’t the words to express my pride!
Amy: Aw, calm down, Rob! You’re embarrassing me!
Eventually, Rob lets her go.
Rob: I suppose I must be off, then. You will remember to visit, yes?
Amy: Of course, silly! Now go!
Rob nods, before taking off.
Amy: Oh, I can’t believe it! I’m actually a member of the Freedom Fighters! This is the best day ever!
Sally escorts Amy to her new house as the sun begins to set.
Back in Robotropolis, Robotnik has begun to repair Metal Sonic.
Robotnik: Don’t worry, Metal. Once you’re back online, you’ll be more then capable of making those tree-hugging vermin beg for mercy.
Metal Sonic’s eyes glow red in anticipation.
