In sickness and in health

Summary:

Yuls dramatic and sick.

Aiden’s sick of Yuls theatrics.

Work Text:

Yul was a drama queen when he got sick. That was an established fact. When he got sick, it was suddenly everyone else’s problem in addition to his own.

He laid dramatically across the sofa; some show on the tv. His head was pounding, and he felt like he was going to throw up again...But he ultimately decided that he would just simply not do that. It was messy and made him feel gross. He did not want to feel any worse than he did already. He let out an over dramatic whine and further sprawled out on the sofa.

"Aiiiiiiiidennnnnn!" He called, voice shrill.

From the other room, came the aforementioned male, holding a can opener in his hand. "What...?" He asked. Yul looked at the can opener for a moment, his brow raising, before he glanced at Aiden.

"I need more waterrrrr."

Aiden sighed and nodded, grabbing the water bottle from the coffee table. "You're so dramatic..." He murmured. Yul glared at him and huffed, which resulted in a coughing fit. Aiden looked at him alarmed, but Yul waved him off. "You good...?"

"Go get me water!" Yul demanded between coughs. Aiden rolled his eyes and went back to the kitchen. He quickly filled the water bottle and brought it out to Yul who had since stopped coughing, arm resting over his eyes.

“Here.” Aiden muttered, holding it out to him. Yul quickly snatched it from his hand and lifted it towards his lips. “Take small sips.” Aiden instructed. Yul paused, turning his head.

“Do NOT tell me what to do.” He replied, taking a quick swig of his water. Aiden sighed and shrugged as Yul started coughing again. Aiden came over patting him on the back as he coughed. “What the fuck Aiden! You could have warned me!” Yul whined.

“I literally just did…” Aiden muttered. "You good?" He asked, patting his boyfriend's back a few more times before retracting his hand.

"No! You weren't much help either." Yul grumbled, setting the water to the side and crossing his arms. Aiden simply rolled his eyes and stood.

"Why do I even try?" He muttered to himself as he retreated back into the kitchen to finish whatever he was doing before Yul called him.

Yul flopped back onto the sofa, pout on his face. He kicked off the blanket that covered him and lifted his arm to cover his eyes again. He hated being sick. He should be out doing shit, not laying here all pathetic. Aiden would never let him leave anyways...He'd stop Yul before he even reached the door. Then again, Yul wasn't even sure he wanted to move. Maybe move from the sofa, but other than that, he wasn't sure he could get very far from here. So, he remained in place, bored out of his mind and trying to ignore the crippling fomo he was feeling.

Aiden came back in a few minutes later, bowl in hand, and his hair pulled up. "Move your legs." He said plainly. Yul lifted his arm to glare at Aiden. Aiden just stared back at him. They held the gaze for a second before Aiden set the bowl down on the coffee table and moved Yul's legs himself, which resulted in an over dramatic noise of protest from Yul. "Sit up babe." Aiden sighed, sitting in the space in front of Yul's legs. Yul complied, groaning overdramatically as he sat up. Aiden reached for the bowl and Yul peered at it curiously. "It's soup." Aiden said, as if Yul didn't know what soup was.

"I know what soup is." Yul snapped. Aiden gave him a tired look and shifted a little to face Yul. He held the bowl out and Yul looked at him offended. "Uhm, I'm sick. I'm not feeding myself."

"I should've guessed..." Aiden said, ladling some of the broth onto the spoon that rested in the bowl. He lifted it out of the bowl, noting the rising steam. He hovered it over the bowl and gently blew on it. He leaned forward, holding the spoon out to Yul who was quick to meet him, taking the spoon in his mouth. He hummed and closed his eyes gratefully.

They repeated this motion a few times, until the bowl was about half empty. This was only because Yul held up a hand. Aiden paused his movements and raised a brow.

"I'm gonna be sick." Yul announced, his face skewing. Aiden set the bowl down immediately.

"Can you get to the bathroom?" He asked. Yul nodded as Aiden stood to let him get up. Yul stood and his legs shook. Aiden was quick to help stabilize him, wrapping an arm around his back. They moved slowly, Yul wanting to protest but his hand remained pressed firmly against his mouth. He did not bank on actually having to throw up...He tried to suppress the feeling, but it wasn't going away. It just got worse...His eyes widened, and he moved quicker. Aiden following, helping hold him up the last few feet to the bathroom. Yul hit the tile as Aiden lifted the lids for him. He stood back and let Yul hack and cough for a moment, wincing once he actually did throw up, hand rubbing his back while he stared upwards.

Yul lifted his head, wiping weakly at his mouth, reaching to flush. He felt even more gross than he had already. Aiden helped him up, letting Yul slump against him, holding him up. "I hated every second of that..." Yul said weakly.

"I don't doubt that..." Aiden said, rubbing Yul's back. "How are you feeling now...?"

"Like shit." Yul replied bluntly. Aiden hummed and continued rubbing his boyfriend's back.

“Yeah, I figured…you need anything?”

“Water.” Yul muttered, feeling more bile coming up his throat. “Fuck-“ he gasped, lowering himself back down and hunching over as Aiden stood, wincing at the sounds.

He quickly went to obtain the water bottle from the living room trying to ignore the sound of Yul throwing up. He stayed in the doorway, frowning as he held the bottle in his hands. He watched Yul sit back slightly, his face a slight green shade. That was his cue to approach. He held out the water bottle and Yul weakly snatched it.

He took a long swig of water, trying to keep his sips light, but he couldn’t help it, he needed the taste of bile out of his mouth so badly.

Aiden knelt to rub his back again gently. “You’re okay…” He sighed.

“Fuck you.” Yul muttered.

“I’m just trying to help you feel better babe…” Aiden replied. Yul grumbled and rolled his eyes.

“You’re doing a pretty shitty job.” Yul muttered. Aiden gave him a look and sighed. Yul groaned and hovered over the toilet again. “Fuck-” He grunted. Aiden’s face scrunched up and he looked away, gagging a little in disgust. “Oh, don’t you start.” Yul huffed.

“Not my fault this grosses me out!” Aiden countered, hand moving from Yul’s back to gently run through his sweaty hair. “I think your fever is finally starting to break…” Aiden observed, fingers carding through the strands of Yul’s hair. Yul hummed, leaning slightly into the touch. “Maybe you should like…shower or something…? If you’re done here.”

Yul’s eyes clamped shut, one of his hands lifting to rest on his forehead. “I might be.” He said, tone noticeably softer. “But I need a shower so bad…I feel like…gross…” He grumbled. “Okay…I think I’m good.” Yul said, flushing the toilet then getting up again. He slumped against Aiden with a groan. “My head is killing me uuuuuuughhhhhh!”

“Okay…sit down a second.” Aiden said, lowering the toilet seat lid and easing Yul down to sit on it. He stepped up to the shower, peering through the curtains for a moment, then turning them on. He nodded to himself and glanced back at Yul. “It’ll heat up soon. Or do you want a cold one?”

“50/50.” Yul muttered, rubbing his forehead. Aiden nodded, leaning to adjust the knobs.

“It’ll be ready shortly. I’ll leave you be.” Aiden said, moving to leave the bathroom. He eased the door shut and sighed in relief. He finally got a break…and he’d marvel at every second.

Yul meanwhile gripped the counter as he pulled himself up. His legs shook as he took a step forward. Then another, and another. He fell a little into the wall, face scrunching up. He didn’t want to fall…that would totally suck. He shoved a hand into the curtain to test the water. It was warm…he could deal with that.

Aiden sat down and closed his eyes. He’d been running around all morning dealing with Yul. He didn’t mind, but it was frankly exhausting. Yul hadn’t exactly made things easy on him…but Aiden rationalized that he was sick. He’d give him leniency for that.

He didn’t remember dozing off…but he was woken up by a damp haired Yul in fresh pjs standing over him.

“My fever broke.” He said plainly. Aiden blinked a few times as he tried to wake himself up.

“That’s good…” he yawned. Yul raised a brow at him. “Sorry, I don’t remember falling asleep…” Aiden muttered, rubbing his eyes.

“It’s fine. I just had to do things by myself. Almost fell twice.” Yul huffed, sitting beside Aiden.

“Sorry about that…” Aiden sighed, leaning on Yul. Yul tensed for a moment, then relaxed, arm going around Aiden’s shoulders. “Sorry I’m still tired…been up dealing with your dramatic ass since four am.”

“Uhm, I am NOT dramatic.” Yul barked out, which resulted in a coughing fit. Aiden just sighed and shook his head, moving to get the water on the table. He handed it to Yul.

“Small sips.”

“Fuck you.” Yul countered, but heeding Aiden’s suggestion. He put his arm back around Aiden, pulling the shorter male against him. “You’re freezing.” He grumbled.

“Okay?” Aiden replied flatly.

Yul didn’t give an answer. He just set his water down and pulled Aiden closer against him, shifting to lay on his back, pulling Aiden on top of him. Aiden raised a brow, but Yul merely wrapped his arms around Aiden.

“If you get me sick, I’m breaking up with you.” Aiden warned. They both knew it was an empty threat.

“I hope you do get sick.” Yul replied, his eyes closing. Aiden lightly whacked his arm, but made no further comments. Just closed his own eyes.

They laid there for a while before inevitably falling asleep.

When Aiden eventually woke up, it was dark out. He lifted his head a little, looking around. Yul was still asleep, arms loosely holding onto him. Aiden looked at him fondly. He was peaceful like this. Aiden liked when he was actually peaceful. It was a nice change of pace from his usual…well…his usual loud nature.

Aiden lifted his head to kiss Yuls cheek, then got himself comfortable once more. But he forgot Yul was…a light sleeper.

“Stopppppuhhhhh.” He whined sleepily, holding Aiden tighter for a moment. Aiden gave no reply, just tried to relax once more. Yul needed the rest and Aiden didn’t want to further disturb him. That and Yul was a drama queen with things like this, so Aiden found it best to just let him do his own thing…

So Aiden let him sleep. He already knew Yul would be like this tomorrow too. That’s how it was. Aiden didn’t mind of course…he loved him a lot. It was just hard to deal with him in this state. But he’d try his best.

Yuls grip loosened as he finally started to drift off again. Aiden felt his breathing even out and relaxed. Finally…Aiden didn’t want to risk moving so he supposed he’d try and get more sleep too. He was most likely going to get sick anyways. Which would suck. Even if they were sick together Aiden would have to do most of the heavy lifting anyways. Again, not that he minded. It was just how things were. It didn’t mean Aiden cared any less about him…

He watched Yul for a moment, chin resting on his chest.

“I know you're staring at me. Stop it.”

Aiden rolled his eyes. “Shouldn’t you be sleeping?” He asked.

“I cant when SOMEONE is watching me all the time!” Yul said, cracking an eye open to glare at Aiden. Aiden glared back, unamused. They held this for a moment, before Aiden sighed and lowered his head. “Thankssssss!” Yul huffed, closing his eye once more.

But now Yul couldn’t sleep. At all. Downside of being a light sleeper. His eyes opened and he glared at the ceiling. Well this sucked. He peered at Aiden who seemingly fell back asleep. He was stuck here till his loser boyfriend woke up…great.

He stared back at the ceiling, annoyance plastered on his face. He could just wake Aiden back up and tell him to move? That could work…but at the same time, and the realization did horrify him, Yul didn’t really hate him being there.

Ew…he didn’t like that.

But he still found himself reaching a hand up to loosely play with Aiden’s hair. Was he seriously that bored? Whatever. It gave him something to do. He let out a long, drawn out, huffy sigh. He was bored…and had to use the bathroom…

“Aidennnnuuhhhhh-“ He whined.

“Whuzzup?” Aiden murmured.

Yul didn’t verbally reply, he just nudged Aiden a few times. Aiden grumbled and moved to sit up, rubbing his eyes. Yul followed him up, muttering to himself. Aiden stared at him confused, but Yul just waved him off, pulling himself up and stretching, he grunted and something cracked, but he ignored it.

“Whatsamatter…?”

“Mmm.” Yul replied, retreating down the hall. Aiden watched him go then heard a door close. Aiden shrugged and stood, opting to go fill Yuls water instead.

He leaned against the counter as he filled it, still trying to wake up. He was exhausted…which was ironic since he’d just slept for a few hours.

He shrugged it off, closing the lid to the water bottle and bringing it back out. He heard footsteps but the were headed towards the bedroom. Aiden followed them, finding Yul laying dead center, face scrunched and eyes shut. Aiden raised a brow. He came over and sat on the edge.

“You want me to join you…?” He asked.

“No.” Yul replied. He didn’t actually mean no. Aiden knew that, laying back and curling into Yuls side. The taller male let out an annoyed huff, but didn’t push him off.

“Love you.” Aiden sighed.

“I know.” Yul replied. That was enough for Aiden. He lifted his head to kiss Yuls cheek then got settled once more.

He was gonna get so sick…then again…he wasn’t really complaining at this point. He felt Yuls lips press to the top of his head for a split second. It made Aiden smile a little. Okay, getting sick was worth it he supposed. Even though he knew that they’d do this same thing again until Yul got better. He could manage. It wasn’t the end of the world…

So when Aiden woke up the next morning with the tell-tale signs of a cold, and Yul seemed better, Aiden put on his best pout. He could be dramatic too.
