“So, what do you guys think of the idea?” Ada Wong asked casually, sitting in a chair across from Claire and Leon, who were seated side by side on the couch.
Claire and Leon exchanged a glance, completely perplexed. They had been dating for over a year now, and never in their wildest dreams had they imagined Ada would suggest something like this, especially after everything they had been through.
Ada continued, unfazed by the awkward silence. "I want to date Leon. I also want to date you, Claire. And I want you two to keep dating each other. A throuple."
Both were at a loss for words. Claire had never considered polyamory, and Leon... well, he always saw himself as monogamous. Yet here they were, confronted with the most absurd proposal they could imagine. They had a strong connection with each other, but to bring Ada into this? It seemed surreal.
Flashback: 2004 – Ada and Leon
After the events in Spain, Leon was still trying to process everything that had happened. Ada was a constant figure in his mind, and when they met again, he knew they needed to talk. But as always, conversations with Ada were filled with ulterior motives and mysteries.
That night, what started with tension ended in a much more intimate encounter than Leon had expected. It was a night of passion he would never forget. However, what came after was devastating. Ada, even though she admitted she cared for him, made it clear she wasn’t willing to commit to a relationship. That broke Leon in ways he hadn’t anticipated. He knew, for his own sake, he had to distance himself from her.
Flashback: 2005 – Claire and Ada
Claire had never met Ada in person until that TerraSave event. Everything she knew about her came from Leon’s stories. But the mysterious and enigmatic woman quickly sparked something in Claire that she had never felt before.
Through brief conversations and subtle glances, Claire found herself drawn to Ada in a way she hadn’t expected. That night was intense, but when it ended, Claire felt guilty. She knew about Leon’s feelings for Ada, and with that in mind, decided it would be best to distance herself from Ada to avoid any complications.
Flashback: 2014 – Claire and Leon
After 16 years of being best friends, Claire and Leon finally decided to take a step forward. The feelings had always been there, buried deep, but their connection was undeniable. They always got along well, from inside jokes to shared interests. It was like they were meant to be together.
However, there was one topic they rarely touched upon: Ada Wong. Claire knew Leon had a complicated past with Ada, and it hovered over their relationship like a silent shadow. They barely spoke of her, trying to avoid the discomfort that the name "Ada" brought.
Back in the present, Claire and Leon remained frozen, processing Ada’s proposal.
“This is insane,” Leon finally said, his voice firm but hesitant.
“I know,” Ada replied with her enigmatic smile. “But what’s life without a little madness?”
Claire looked at Leon, searching his eyes for some clarity. She knew he still had feelings for Ada, but what about her? Claire also felt something for Ada, something she had tried to suppress for so long.
“Maybe…” Claire began, unsure. “Maybe we could try.”
Leon stared at her, surprised. “Are you serious?”
“I… I don’t know,” Claire admitted. “But the truth is, we all have history with Ada. And maybe… maybe this doesn’t have to be a bad thing.”
Ada watched them both with that predatory gaze that always seemed a step ahead. "You two trust each other in a way that few people understand. I just want to be part of that."
Leon took a deep breath. The path ahead was going to be complicated, but in some way, he couldn’t walk away from either Claire or Ada. Maybe this was what they needed – even if it was the most unlikely of scenarios.
“Okay,” Leon finally said. “Let’s try.”
Claire felt a mix of nerves and curiosity. Was this total madness? Maybe. But sometimes, the best stories are born from unexpected choices.
