“Scorp, what are you doing?” Draco looked at his four-year-old son with a stick in his hand. They’d been playing in the garden when his son went quiet and anyone with a toddler knows that it’s never a good thing.
“Want Minnie’s otter come back.”
He smiled at his son who’d also fallen for her Gryffindor charm, which could be noted in three gaudy red and gold clothes his son had taken to wearing recently.
Hermione and Draco had been taking it slow, not wanting to involve Scorpius until recently which was around 6 months.
“How did you hear about that spell? And when did you see Hermione’s otter?”
“Minnie told story. Papa was with MeeMaw. Minnie sent otter to work.” She’d stop by this morning to bring a book he’d left at her place. His mother had an urgent call with him so Hermione stayed with Scorpius so she must have sent word to Potter about being a bit late for brunch. But he wasn’t sure about what story she’d had told him.
“Daddy have otter too?”
“No, Scorp, but what would like to see?”
“Yes! Pwease!”
“Expecto Patronum,” Draco completed the wand movements, thinking about the day he held his son and his first kiss with Hermione. Two key pillars of happiness in his life.
“DRAGON!” Grabby hands were made at the blue dragon flying about Scorpius’ head. “Daddy! Look! Minnie’s otter.” Sure enough the tiny otter was playing with the mighty dragon.
Draco looked behind him to see his girlfriend under the archway, a small smile on her lips.
“You’re back.”
“Of course. I wouldn’t miss an afternoon with my two favourite men.” He took her hand in his as they watched Scorpius giggle with glee.
