Chapter Text

"Aww are you scared??" Jp teased, pushing the camera closer towards Wade's face purposefully in an attempt to annoy him. The other just let out a slight chuckle and turned to look at him. "No, I'm not scared. To be honest, I'm surprised that you even agreed to do this" Wade responded bitterly. "What is that supposed to mean?" Jp snapped back, still keeping a joking tone. "What I mean is that you're scared of your own shadow" Wade responded, Jp gasping loudly and putting his hand to his chest even though the camera couldn't see him. "How dare you!" Jp said dramatically, Wade just letting out a small giggle.
"You two stop fighting, we're here" Gar called to them from further ahead of the group, the four men slowly stopping at the entrance of the large, broken, spiderweb-covered building in front of them. As Jp looked up at the abandoned house, he felt his stomach sink a bit, and it seemed he accidentally let it show as he saw Wade look at him with a smug expression.
"Now are you scared?" Wade asked. Jp blinked and shook his head a bit, putting on his brave persona again the best he could. "No I'm not scared! Let's just go hunt these ghosties" He announced, starting to walk closer towards the open door with the camera, only to be stopped by Patrck lightly grabbing the back of his shirt. "Hold on, we're not going in yet" Patrck said, turning to Gar, who held a bag over his shoulder that held the ghost hunting equipment they bought. "Gar, you sure we have everything?" He asked, letting go of the taller's shirt. Gar took a bit before he answered to rummage around a bit in the bag. "Hmm.. we should" He responded, looking back up to Patrck. "Alright, now we can go in" Pat said, reaching into the bag and pulling out a flashlight, turning it on and walking into the house, the three following him slowly. Jp let out a small yelp as a mouse ran across the floor, taking a step back. "Not scared, huh?" Wade teased once again. "Shut up!" Jp snapped back. "Maybe I should hold the camera if you're gonna be all the way back there?" Patrck asked, turning around and shining the flashlight Jp's direction. "No, I'm fine, I promise!" Jp responded, taking a few steps to catch up with Patrck and Gar.
"So when are we gonna whip out the fancy ghost stuff?" Wade asked, eyeing the bag. "I wanna look around first, to make sure there's no actual living people in here with us" Patrck responded, scanning the room with his flashlight, moths and various small bugs flying about. "Wait, you mean that's a possibility?? Pat, I thought you said this place was abandoned!" Jp frantically asked, his grip on the camera tightening a bit. "It is! You just... never really know with places like this." Patrck said, walking back up to Gar and grabbing a second flashlight from the bag.
"Here, you two take this flashlight and look around upstairs and Gar and I will look down here" Patrck said, handing the second flashlight to Wade. "Alright, If you hear screaming, we're not getting murdered, It's probably just Jp" Wade said, starting to make his way to the old staircase, Jp following behind. "Correction: It's Wade." Jp added before walking up the stairs as well.
The two made it up the stairs and entered the second floor, Wade quickly shining his flashlight across the walls to get a layout of the room, as the house would be pitch black without it. "This place feels kinda... weird." Wade said, taking small steps, Jp following behind. "What do you mean?" Jp asked, even though he was more unsettled by it than Wade was. "It might just be because we're gonna be dealing with ghosts and stuff, but... I just feel a really weird aura here." Wade said, pulling back a window's curtain to peer out of it. "You can say that again." Jp said, his eyes slightly adjusting to the darkness, now being able to see faint outlines of the room without the help of the flashlight. He took a few steps away from Wade, wandering the dark room in hopes to get a little courage back. Jp planted a foot down and his heart jumped as he heard a sudden crack in the floor, first feeling his leg break through the old wood, then himself as he fully fell through the floor, letting out a quick scream that was suddenly cut short.
