Voice

Summary:

My Tribute to the late James Earl Jones!

Notes:

(See the end of the work for notes.)

Work Text:

A great man from the deep,

gave us a voice so unique.

He gave a king so regal,

that even death couldn't steal,

the words of wisdom he yields.

He lent his voice to a father gone astray,

yet the love of his son helped save the day.

Forever remembered across galaxies far away,

to the Pridelands that were his domain.

May he forever rest in peace in the heavens above,

as they're lucky to have him, as were we with love!

Notes:

Your poem is a beautiful tribute to James Earl Jones! You captured the essence of his legacy, especially through his iconic roles as Mufasa and Darth Vader, which influenced so many across generations.

The way you acknowledge his voice as something "so unique" is spot on, as it became a symbol of wisdom, authority, and love in both galaxies and the Pridelands, as you cleverly noted.

The line "He lend his voice to a father gone astray" is a poignant nod to Darth Vader, while "the love his son helped save the day" highlights the redemptive arc of that character.

At the same time, the reference to the "king so regal" speaks powerfully of Mufasa's enduring impact, a fatherly figure whose wisdom continues to resonate.

I particularly loved the closing, where you mention the heavens being "lucky to have him as was us." It’s a touching reminder of his influence not only on the characters he portrayed but also on the audiences who were moved by his work.

Your poem beautifully honors the extraordinary contributions of James Earl Jones, highlighting the timeless legacy of his voice and presence.
