"'A nod would suffice,'" Teth’rin huffed a laugh, mimicking his earlier comment to his former apprentice. "Showing some positive emotions every now and then won’t kill you, you know?"
They had just arrived on Odessen, and the Togruta, who had thoroughly enjoyed Aedric’s bear hug, didn’t need to look to know the Sith was rolling his eyes at her teasing. Leaving Lana and Koth behind, they were slowly making their way through the newly built section of the base.
"You seem to be under the impression that everyone around here shares your overexcitable nature, Jedi. Besides—"
Whatever Aike was about to say was cut off by the sound of heavy stomping. A large mawvorr rounded the corner at full speed, and before Teth could react, it lunged at the Sith, tackling him to the floor.
To her surprise, Aike didn’t make any effort to defend himself. Instead, he wrapped his arms around the beast, rubbing his forehead against the mawvorr’s with a deep, throaty laugh.
"Kuris buti nuyak nyâsh sunus Shmoo? Pezitji ya payuwr isauga xok!"
Teth’rin exchanged glances with Aedric, tilting her head to the side. Aike was clearly speaking Sith, but it wasn’t the ancient version of the language she was familiar with from studying the ancient datacrons and tablets. What surprised her more was the overwhelming mix of happy feelings - the sheer joy and glee - rolling off in waves from the man and the mawvorr. Dumbfounded, she took in the scene before her, realizing this was the happiest—and possibly most emotional—she had ever seen the former Wrath.
Aedric cleared his throat, drawing their attention back to him.
"You go," Aike chuckled, meeting her eyes as he rubbed the chuffing beast’s head. "I have some catching up to do."
