Chapter 1: Information/Introduction: Learning is So Fun!
Chapter Text
Lemme take you back in time, to waaaaayyyy back in the day. Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon are the main competitors in the animated kids' television game, both always trying to outdo the other in terms of presentation, content, style, and just about everything else you can think of. But in the Summer of 2000, everything changed when the Fire Nation attacked--er, I mean, when Cartoon Network unveiled their greatest creation yet: the Cartoon Network Synchronization System (henceforth referred to as CN-SYNCSYS for short)!
What did CN-SYNCSYS do? Quite simple, really; it fully personalized certain media (mainly video and computer games, though other forms of media were also included) to the user in a variety of ways. This meant that no matter how old you were, or what kind of games you liked, or even what network you preferred at the time, there was always something for everyone.
And the first show Cartoon Network made to take full advantage of this incredible technology? Learning with Pibby.
It's not very often that a kids' show (one designed for preschoolers, no less) manages to change the very definition of what a kids' show is. But Learning with Pibby is a rare exception, having been the first show on the network to be completely interactive, with the ability to have many of the particularly viewer-driven episodes be fully designed with their interests in mind.
This, as you might imagine, made Cartoon Network a big success back then. And even today, its effect on the animation-sphere can still be felt.
After all, where do you think Nick got the inspiration to make Dora the Explorer?
But not everything was fully personalized. After all, that would defeat the purpose of it being a cartoon show, right? For example, the show still had a set list of main and supporting characters, and rarely ever did this list deviate. The plots and scripts of most episodes also remained identical, minus some slight changes and tweaks depending on the viewer(s).
That's not to say the show didn't deviate from the formula every now and then. But we'll cross that bridge when we come to it.
For now, we need to get to the list of characters.
In this segment, we'll focus on the Main Characters. These are the standard characters, as in, the ones you can pretty much expect to be in every episode.
MAIN CHARACTERS:
- Pibby: Girl. Unknown species (never defined nor explained; some people online jokingly refer to her species as "Pibbians"). The titular main character of Learning with Pibby. Cute and adorable and huggable in every way. Loves singing songs and playing games. The champion of hide and seek for 200+ episodes. She is voiced by Nikki Castillo.
- Bun-Bun: Boy. A bunny rabbit. Pibby's best friend and sidekick; one might call him the 'Boots' to Pibby's 'Dora'. Always playful and giddy and excitable, yet can be serious when the situation calls for it. Usually the main one who learns the current episode's lesson, and often asks the most questions per episode. He is voiced by Jack Stanton.
- Sunny (Mr. Sun in pilot): Man. The literal sun. Married to Luna. The one to begin (almost) every episode. Kind-hearted and playful. Always does everything he can to make sure the kids are safe and sound. Voiced by Francis Luiz in the pilot, but role was given to Dan Russell from the first season onward.
- Luna (Mrs. Moon in pilot): Woman. The literal moon. Married to Sunny. Gentle and soft-spoken. Makes sure everyone's safe and sound, much like Sunny. Voiced by Mariah Cyrus in the pilot, but role was given to Teresa Gallagher from the first season onward.
- Skuna: Non-binary. (Uses "she/her" and "they/them" pronouns; explored further in the episode "You Are You, And That's Just Fine!".) Skunk. A pretty nice and sweet kid, but also a total scaredy-cat... minus one particular incident on Halloween. Her two biggest phobias are arachnophobia (fear of spiders), and coulrophobia (fear of clowns). Voiced by Kath Soucie.
- Lily: Girl. Ladybug. The smartest one in the group, who likes to flex her brains from time to time. Basically, she's a total nerd-- uh, bookworm! Bookworm. I meant bookworm. Voiced by Carrie Andrews in the pilot, but role was given to Jessica McDonald from season 1 onward.
- Crocker: Boy. Alligator. Silly and reckless; definitely not the brightest bulb in the lamp. Doesn't stop him from having his intelligent moments, though. Was confirmed to be on the autism spectrum by Cartoonito in late 2015, though exactly where on the spectrum he is hasn't been confirmed. Voiced by Jeffrey Lavares.
And that's about it for the main characters! Now let's briefly get into a couple misc. fun facts regarding the show:
- Each character has a different genre of music that they consider to be their favorite. Pibby's favorite genre is country. Bun-Bun's favorite genre is hip-hop. Sunny's favorite genre is soft rock. Luna's favorite genre is muzak. Skuna's favorite genre is eurobeat. Lily's favorite genre is classical. And Crocker's favorite genre is polka.
- Skuna has a brother named Mack (named after the scientific term for a hooded skunk, Mephitis macroura) who works as a mailman, and sometimes makes an appearance. He was originally named Moe, but this was changed after the first season for unknown reasons.
- Luna's favorite holiday is Halloween; this is made especially clear during the Halloween special, where Luna introduces the episode instead of Sunny while wearing a witch's hat.
And that's about it! Expect some episode transcripts and other such goodies soon to come! For now, though, see ya!

[END SONG]
[The episode opens with a bright, sunny sky. We pan to the left where Sunny then flies into view, smiling warmly at the audience.]
SUNNY: "Good morning, everybody, it's so nice to meet you! I'm Sunny, Sunny the sun! And it's my job to make sure everyone wakes up and starts their day with a bright, beaming smile on their faces!"
[The scene cuts to a small town, with houses and the like. We pan through the small town as Sunny narrates.]
SUNNY: "Welcome to Friendshipville! It's a nice and friendly town, filled with nice and friendly people! We're going to meet all sorts of wonderful folks today, I just know it!"
[Cut back to Sunny, who looks around for a moment, then goes wide-eyed in surprise as he suddenly hears a small childish giggle from off-screen.]
SUNNY: "Oh, speaking of which... there's someone I'd like to introduce you to! She's always full of energy, she loves to sing and dance, and she's the best hide and seek player ever! Can you guess who it is?"
[The scene pans down to a vibrant meadow. Seconds after, we hear another childish giggle, followed by a voice.]
???: "Psst, to the right!"
[We zip to the right, over to some trees. Just then, a light blue arm briefly pops out from behind one of the trees, and waves before going back behind the tree.]
???: "Over here!"
[We zoom in closely to the tree where the arm poked out. After a moment, someone hops out from behind the tree, covering her eyes. This figure is Pibby. She then uncovers her eyes and cheers to the audience.]
PIBBY: "Peek-a-boo!"
[She giggles and then waves to the audience.]
PIBBY: "Hi, everybody! I'm Pibby! It's so nice to meet you all! I can't wait for all the amazing things we can do together, and all the neat stuff we can learn. It's gonna be so much fun!"
[She looks around the meadow for a moment, then turns back to the audience.]
PIBBY: "Ooh, ooh! There's someone I'd like you to meet! He's my best friend, and he's always so kind! His name is... Bun-Bun!"
[At that, Bun-Bun hops into frame, smiling brightly at Pibby.]
BUN-BUN: "Hi, Pibby!"
[He gives Pibby a hug, which she reciprocates as the both of them giggle. After letting go of the hug, he then notices the audience, and waves to them.]
BUN-BUN: "Oh! Hi, everybody! I'm Bun-Bun! How are you?"
PIBBY: "Hi, Bun-Bun! I was just telling everyone about you."
BUN-BUN: "Oh, really? Well, I love meeting new people! I also love to hop around, play games, and learn lots and lots of things!"
[As he speaks, Bun-Bun hops around excitedly.]
BUN-BUN: "I love to learn with Pibby most of all; there's always something new to discover!"
[Pibby nods at Bun-Bun as he speaks.]
PIBBY: "That's right, Bun-Bun! And everything is more fun when we do it together!"
[Pibby turns to the audience.]
PIBBY: "How about you? What do you like to do for fun?"
[A moment of silence for the audience to answer. After the moment of silence ends, Bun-Bun leaps in delight.]
BUN-BUN: "That sounds like fun!"
PIBBY: "It sure does!"
[She then gasps.]
PIBBY: "Oh, hey! Would you like to go on an adventure with me and Bun-Bun? You can come and meet our other friends too!"
[Another moment of silence for the audience to answer. After the silence concludes, Pibby giggles.]
PIBBY: "I knew you'd say 'yes'!"
[Bun-Bun runs off-screen, gesturing to where he's running.]
BUN-BUN: "Come on, our friends are this way!"
[Pibby follows Bun-Bun. Together they walk through the meadow, and soon approach a small flower garden, where Skuna is carefully inspecting a flower. We cut to a close shot of Skuna for a moment, before Bun-Bun jumps up into frame behind Skuna.]
BUN-BUN: "Hi, Skuna!"
[Skuna yelps in fear and drops the flower, turning around quickly. They then breathe a sigh of relief as they see Pibby and Bun-Bun.]
SKUNA: "Oh, Pibby, Bun-Bun, it's you. Don't startle me like that! You know how scared I get sometimes."
[Bun-Bun frowns and looks up sadly at her.]
BUN-BUN: "Sorry, Skuna. I didn't mean to scare you."
[Skuna walks over to Bun-Bun and pats him on the back.]
SKUNA: "It's okay, Bun-Bun; you just startled me a little bit, that's all."
[Bun-Bun smiles at them.]
BUN-BUN: "Thanks, that means a lot!"
[Pibby leans in and looks at the flower Skuna was studying moments ago.]
PIBBY: "I see you're studying flowers again, Skuna!"
SKUNA: "Yep! They're very interesting plants. They come in all different shapes and sizes and colors..."
[Bun-Bun hops into frame.]
BUN-BUN: "...and they all smell good!"
PIBBY: "That's right, Bun-Bun!"
SKUNA: "But enough about me; you two must have come here for a reason. What is it?"
BUN-BUN: "Oh! Well, we're gonna go say 'hi' to our friends, and we were wondering if you'd like to come."
[Skuna nods.]
SKUNA: "Say 'hi' to your friends? Why didn't you say so? I'd love to come!"
PIBBY: "Great! Let's go!"
BUN-BUN: "Yay!"
[The three friends all walk from the garden over to a tree where Lily appears to be reading a book. Lily doesn't notice her friends approaching.]
LILY: "...So that's why it's important to always brush your teeth..."
[Pibby notices Lily and points to her.]
PIBBY: "Oh, look everyone, it's Lily!"
[She calls out to Lily, waving.]
PIBBY: "Hi, Lily!"
LILY: "Huh?"
[Lily looks up from her book and gasps in surprise when she sees Pibby, Bun-Bun, and Skuna. She waves at them.]
LILY: "Hello, friends! I wasn't expecting you three! What brings you all here?"
BUN-BUN: "We're saying 'hi' to all our friends!"
LILY: "Oh, how nice of you!"
[Pibby moves over and leans in to look at the book.]
PIBBY: "So, whatcha readin'?"
LILY: "I'm reading a book that details how it's necessary to always maintain proper dental hygiene!"
[Bun-Bun scratches his head, confused.]
BUN-BUN: "The wha-huh?"
[Pibby giggles and puts a hand on Bun-Bun's shoulder.]
PIBBY: "Bun-Bun, she means she's reading a book on how it's important to always brush your teeth!"
BUN-BUN: "Oh, I see!"
[Lily nods confidently.]
LILY: "Of course; you can learn so much from reading a book! For example, did you know that there are over 150 different kinds of animals?"
SKUNA: "Woah! There are?"
LILY: "Mm-hm! From wolves, to raccoons, to rabbits, to even insects like spiders and flies!"
PIBBY: "Woah, that's a lot of animals!"
LILY: "I know! Well, I mustn't keep you three. I believe Crocker is over at the school playground if you want to say 'hi'."
PIBBY: "Thanks, Lily!"
BUN-BUN: "Have fun reading!"
LILY: "I will!"
[Pibby looks at the audience and makes a gesture towards them.]
PIBBY: "Come on, let's go see what Crocker's up to!"
[The three friends all head off to see Crocker. After a bit of walking, they make their way to the school playground, where Crocker is currently swinging on a tire swing. As he does, Pibby, Bun-Bun, and Skuna walk up to him.]
BUN-BUN: "Hi, Crocker!"
CROCKER: "Huh?"
[He looks around and grins upon seeing his friends. He waves to them.]
CROCKER: "Hi, guys!"
PIBBY: "Hey, Crocker! Whatcha doin'?"
CROCKER: "Oh, just hangin' out here! What about you guys?"
BUN-BUN: "We were just saying 'hi' to all our friends!"
CROCKER: "Oh, that's nice! So, Pibby, got anything fun planned for us later?"
[Pibby thinks to herself for a moment.]
PIBBY: "Hmmm... Oh, I know! We can all get together and play a fun game! Maybe... Oh! How about we all play Freeze Dance?"
CROCKER: "'Freeze Dance'? What's that?"
PIBBY: "Oh, it's really easy! Sunny starts out by singing a song, and everyone dances while he sings it. Then, when he says 'freeze', everyone has to freeze in place like a statue!"
[Upon the mention of Sunny, Sunny floats down into frame.]
SUNNY: "That sounds like a fun-tastic idea, Pibby! I'd be happy to sing for you all!"
PIBBY: "Great! See you then, Sunny!"
[Pibby waves as Sunny floats up offscreen once more. She then turns back to her friends.]
PIBBY: "Well, now that we've said 'hi' to our friends, let's all head over to my place, so we can play our game!"
[Pibby and the rest all cheer as Pibby, Bun-Bun and Skuna all head off. Just then, Crocker gasps.]
CROCKER: "Oh! I gotta tell Lily!"
[Crocker then hops off the swing, and runs off as well. The camera then cuts to a shot of Pibby's house, with her and the others in front.]
PIBBY: "Here we are, guys: my house! Let's go to the backyard, so we can play!"
[Pibby and her friends all run to the back of the house, where they see Sunny, humming to himself. Sunny notices the kids and smiles brightly at them.]
SUNNY: "Hi, everyone! Ready to play some Freeze Dance?"
[The kids all nod.]
PIBBY: "You bet we are!"
SUNNY: "Alright, then. Everyone ready to get down?"
[The kids all cheer. Sunny then clears his throat, and begins singing.]
🎵 SONG: FREEZE DANCE SONG 🎵
SINGER: SUNNY
And a-1, 2, 3, 4!
[The kids begin to dance as Sunny starts singing.]
Freeze Dance! Freeze Dance!
Don't you worry none!
Freeze Dance! It's a breeze, just dance
until the song is done!
Everybody likes to move,
and everybody likes to groove!
But sometimes you just have to FREEZE!
[The kids freeze in place once Sunny yells "freeze". After a moment of stillness, the song starts back up again, and the kids start dancing again.]
Freeze Dance! Freeze Dance!
Don't you worry, just FREEZE!
[Everyone freezes again. After a moment, the song and dance resumes.]
Freeze Dance! Just take a chance!
Sometimes you gotta FREEZE!
[Everyone freezes yet again. After a moment, everything resumes.]
Go ahead and try!
Come on, now, don't be shy!
Just make sure you know to FREEZE!
[Everyone freezes once more. You know how this goes by now.]
Freeze Dance! Freeze Dance!
Don't you worry none!
Freeze Dance! It's a breeze, just dance
until the song is done!
Everybody likes to move,
and everybody likes to groove!
But sometimes you just have to FREEZE!
[Everyone freezes for one final time.]
Freeze Dance! Yeah!
[END SONG]
[Everyone cheers as Sunny ends the song.]
SUNNY: "Great work, everyone!"
PIBBY: "That was so much fun!"
[Bun-Bun wipes his forehead, clearly exhausted.]
BUN-BUN: "I'm pooped! What about you guys?"
[Skuna nods, also looking tired.]
SKUNA: "Yeah, I'm pretty tired as well. That was a lot of dancing."
[Lily nods in agreement.]
LILY: "I think it's about time we all head home and get some rest."
CROCKER: "Yeah, you're right, Skuna."
[Everyone waves goodbye to Pibby as they leave.]
PIBBY: "See you tomorrow, guys!"
[Pibby then walks back inside the house and closes the door. She looks to the audience as she walks up to her room.]
PIBBY: "Wow! Today was so much fun! I got to introduce you to all my friends, and we even got to play a great game together! I hope you all had fun, too!"
[She stops once she reaches her room.]
PIBBY: "Well, I guess it's time for me to go to bed now. I'll see you all tomorrow. Goodnight, everyone!"
[Pibby closes the door behind her as she enters the room. The scene then fades to an outside view of Friendshipville at night. The night sky is twinkling with stars. Just then, someone floats down to greet the viewers. It's the moon, Luna. She smiles gently at the audience.]
LUNA: "Hello, folks! So nice to finally meet you all. I'm Luna, the moon. And it's me and Sunny's job to make sure everyone here is safe and sound."
[She looks down at the town for a moment, before looking back up at us.]
LUNA: "Our time together is running short. Don't worry, though, we'll meet again very soon! But for now, there's only one thing left to say..."
🎵 SONG: GOODBYE, GOODBYE 🎵
SINGER: LUNA
[This is the farewell song that plays at the end of just about every before the credits roll. Like the theme song, this song remains pretty much untouched from show to show, so this transcript will be the only instance in which it is detailed.]
Goodbye, goodbye
It's time to say goodbye
We had so much fun
But now we're done
It's time to say goodbye
Goodbye, goodbye
It's time to say goodbye
Let's all clean up
And give big hugs
It's time to say goodbye
Goodbye, goodbye
It's time to say goodbye
Goodbye, dear friends
'Til we meet again
It's time to say goodbye
Goodbye, goodbye
It's time to say goodbye
Goodbye, goodbye, goodbye
[END SONG]
[After the song concludes, Luna chuckles.]
LUNA: "So long, friends. And remember: it's never too late to learn..."
[She winks at the camera before we fade out.]
[END]
Chapter 3: #BunBunGone Incident - Commercial Sightings
Summary:
Season 2, Episode 8 was the start of a two-parter called "Where'd My Bunny Go?", where Pibby and Bun-Bun have fun camping, until suddenly, Bun-Bun gets lost in the woods, and Pibby has to search for him.
Part 1 ends on a cliffhanger, and during the time between the two parts, an interesting thing occurred: Pibby would appear in and even interrupt some of the commercials that aired around this time (not all of them, however; mainly commercials advertising to kids seemed to be targeted).
Whether this was a deliberate marketing campaign made by Cartoon Network in conjunction with the companies shown, or if it was just a result of CN-SYNCSYS, is currently unknown, as what sets this apart from other similar marketing campaigns is the fact that repeats of the commercials did not have Pibby featured in them.
So far, we have five notable accounts of Pibby sightings.
Chapter Text
ACCOUNT #1:
Commercial: Super S'mores Crunch Rap (30s, 7/5/2006)
Type of Appearance: Minor appearance
Description: During the lyrics "Don't need to go campin' just to get that crunch/The MC&GC that packs a big punch", Pibby can be seen behind the rapper, walking by and looking around with concern in her eyes.
ACCOUNT #2:
Commercial: Skip'n'Hop Demonstration (15s, 7/5/2006)
Type of Appearance: Minor appearance
Description: As the kid narrates, "I love it when we get together for a fun time", Pibby can be seen playing in the background, before she turns around to notice she's been seen, and runs away. This is the first instance in which Pibby seems to be aware of the audience watching the commercials.
ACCOUNT #3:
Commercial: Petey's Perfect Popcicles (30s, 7/6/2006)
Type of Appearance: Major appearance
Description: This is the first instance in which Pibby interrupts a commercial. During the part where the kids are listing off all the "fruit-tastic flavors" of the popsicles, Pibby appears in the middle of the group of kids. She then looks to the audience, and shouts, "Where's Bun-Bun?!", getting the attention of the other kids, who do not respond, as they seem to be unsure. Pibby then gets worried, and asks again, but to no avail. She then runs away, leaving the commercial to continue.
ACCOUNT #4:
Commercial: Himei PlayCase Demonstration (60s, 7/7/2006)
Type of Appearance: Major appearance
Description: While showing off the selection of latest releases for the console, Pibby suddenly appears inside the television that is showing them. She looks to the audience, and screams "Bun-Bun! Where are you?!", before running off camera. The announcer is seemingly confused, and is notably stumbling through the remainder of his lines as the ad progresses.
ACCOUNT #5:
Commercial: "Mega Mayhem!!!" Board Game Demo (30s, 7/9/2006)
Type of Appearance: Major appearance
Description: During the moment of the demonstration where the clay-molded cars "crash" into one another, it cuts to a cartoonish representation of the act, where Pibby is somehow driving one of the cars. As the crash occurs, the car flips over, and she exclaims "Oh no!", before being knocked out of the car. The commercial continues as normal until the end, where Pibby is seen outside the house, looking in through the kitchen window.
Addendum: This appears to be the last known and documented sighting of Pibby in these commercials. However, we haven't ruled out the possibility of there being other undocumented sightings. It seems that after the airing of Season 2, Episode 9, there were no further sightings of Pibby in commercial interruptions. This leads us to speculate that this was indeed a marketing campaign of some sort, though as stated prior, this is not an absolute certainty.
Chapter 4: DVD Episode: The Great Indoors Campout
Summary:
This DVD is very unique, as it's recommended that you play it during late evening hours (around 8 or 9). And why, you might ask?
Well, my friend, the answer is simple: it's because the episode focuses on you and the characters having an ACTUAL SLEEPOVER together! The first chunk or so of the episode remains relatively the same from person to person, but as soon as you get to the point where the actual sleepover starts, things start changing. This is one of the few episodes in which the power of CN-SYNCSYS is on full display, allowing totally unique and realistic responses and scenarios depending on who's watching.
This transcript is only going to transcribe the first chunk or so of the episode, however, as transcribing every little thing that can happen afterwards would be... well, IMPOSSIBLE, to say the least.
Chapter Text
[BEGIN]
[The episode opens with a soft, moonlit sky, stars twinkling in different spots. We pan to the right where Luna then flies into view, smiling gently at the audience.]
LUNA: "Good day, everyone! Or, should I say... 'good night'? I'm so glad you could join us tonight; Pibby's got something really special planned..."
[The scene cuts to a window shot of Pibby in her bedroom. She seems to be looking for something in her toy chest. Luna narrates.]
LUNA (off-screen): "See, Pibby's preparing for a sleepover, and she wants to invite all her friends. But you see, everyone needs a bit of help from time to time."
[Cut back to Luna, who gently tilts her head.]
LUNA: "What do you say? Think you can help out?"
[A moment of silence for the audience to answer. After the moment of silence ends, Luna smiles brightly.]
LUNA: "I knew you'd say 'yes'! I'll let Pibby fill you in, but for now... get comfy, and get ready for a fun adventure you won't soon forget."
[We fade to Pibby, who's struggling to find something in her aforementioned toy chest.]
PIBBY (to herself): "No... it's not here... Where could it be?"
[She pulls out a couple of items, such as a teddy bear and a rubber chicken, looking confused. She then tosses them aside.]
PIBBY (to herself): "Oh... I could've SWORN I put it in here..."
[Pibby then spots the audience and brightens up.]
PIBBY: "Oh! You're here! Hi! Listen, you gotta help me; I'm looking for my favorite game so I can take it with me, but I can't find it ANYWHERE! Can you help me find it?"
[The camera then pans to a different shot of Pibby's room, showcasing three different options. Pibby narrates the options as they are highlighted one by one.]
PIBBY (off-screen): "Could it be... in the closet? Under the bed? Or in the dresser?"
[A choice menu then pops up, giving the viewer(s) the option to choose between the three aforementioned options. No matter which option is picked, that's where she finds the game she's looking for.]
[Once Pibby finds the game, she excitedly pulls it out; it appears to be some kind of board game.]
PIBBY: "Yay! We found it! This is my favorite game for sleepovers! It's called 'Bunny on the Beanstalk'."
[Pibby then leans in close, whispering to the audience.]
PIBBY: "I'll show you how to play later."
[She leans back, smiling brightly.]
PIBBY: "Thank you so much for helping me find this; I knew it was here somewhere! Now come on, help me invite my friends to the sleepover!"
[The scene transitions with an upbeat musical cue as we see Pibby bouncing out of her house. The background changes to a lively, colorful neighborhood filled with trees, flowers, and the same moonlit sky from before. Pibby hops along the path, heading toward Bun-Bun's house.]
PIBBY: "First stop: Bun-Bun's house! Oh, I can't wait; I'm sure he'll be sooooo excited!"
[The camera zooms in to Bun-Bun's house, where Bun-Bun is seen sitting in the middle of his room, surrounded by toys, books, and random objects strewn about. He looks a little overwhelmed.]
BUN-BUN: "Oh, jeez... It's such a mess in here. How can I keep having fun with all this STUFF everywhere?"
[Bun-Bun then notices the audience, his eyes wide with concern.]
BUN-BUN: "Oh! It's you! Hey, can you help me clean up? I'll be back on my bunny feet in NO TIME if we work together! I just need to know... Where do we start?"
[Like before, the camera then pans to a different shot of Bun-Bun's room, showcasing three different options. Like with Pibby, Bun-Bun narrates the options as they are highlighted one by one.]
BUN-BUN (off-screen): "Should we start by putting my toys in the toy chest? Or maybe putting all my books back on the bookshelf? Oh, or you can help me rebuild my pillow fort; that'd be fun! Well, whaddya think? What should we do?"
[A choice menu then pops up, giving the viewer(s) the option to choose between the three aforementioned options. This time, there's a small scene that plays out depending on which choice you've made.]
[If the toy chest is picked...]
[Bun-Bun starts gathering the strewn toys from the floor, then tossing them into the toy chest one by one. Most of the toys make it, but some of them tumble back out onto the floor.]
BUN-BUN: "Hahaha, oops! Guess I still need a little more practice with my throwing."
[Bun-Bun then picks up the remaining toys, and gently puts them into the toy chest. He smiles proudly, looking at the audience.]
BUN-BUN: "All done! Thanks for helping me out!"
[If the bookshelf is picked...]
[Bun-Bun starts picking up books from the floor, and putting those books on the bookshelf. He takes a careful look at the books.]
BUN-BUN: "Hmm... I arrange my books from A to Z, that means... Aha!"
[He picks up a book from the shelf, and moves it to a different spot.]
BUN-BUN: "THIS book should go HERE! There, much better!"
[He turns to the audience, smiling brightly.]
BUN-BUN: "Now my bookshelf is all organized! Thanks for the help!"
[If the pillow fort is picked...]
[Bun-Bun starts gathering up pillows and blankets. He starts to arrange them in a fort-like shape.]
BUN-BUN: "Hmm, if we put this over here, and then this over HERE..."
[Soon enough, the pillow fort is complete; it looks like a standard pillow fort, with pillows acting as the walls, and blankets acting as the gateway into the fort.]
BUN-BUN: "And we're done! Doesn't it look fort-y?"
[Bun-Bun then hops into the fort, poking his head out and giggling.]
BUN-BUN: "Thanks for helping with my fort; it looks great!"
[After you help Bun-Bun with his room, he hears a knock on the door. Bun-Bun goes over to answer it, and Pibby is there waiting for him. Bun-Bun waves and Pibby reciprocates.]
BUN-BUN: "Oh! Hi, Pibby!"
PIBBY: "Hi, Bun-Bun! I was just about to invite you to my sleepover! You want in?"
BUN-BUN: "A sleepover?! That sounds like fun!"
[Pibby gestures Bun-Bun to follow her.]
PIBBY: "Great! Come on, let's go invite Lily next!"
[Scene transitions with a page-turning effect as we shift to a quiet nook in the neighborhood. Trees sway gently, and we see a quaint house shaped a little like a ladybug shell. Pibby and Bun-Bun approach the front path.]
PIBBY: "Oh boy, I hope Lily's not too busy reading one of her super-duper big books again..."
[Cut to inside Lily’s room, where she's perched on a beanbag chair surrounded by stacks of books, flipping through a large encyclopedia. She's wearing a pair of reading glasses.]
LILY (to herself): "Hmm... A group of ladybugs is called a 'loveliness'? Fascinating..."
[Suddenly, she hears a knock on the door, and glances up, noticing the audience.]
LILY: "Huh? Oh! I didn't see you there!"
[Lily waves at the audience.]
LILY: "Hello everyone, I was just brushing up on my facts!"
[Lily adjusts her glasses, looking to her side nervously.]
LILY: "I'd love to come to the sleepover, but... I have a bit of a problem. See, I was supposed to bring just ONE book to the sleepover, but I... I-- I can't decide which one I want to BRING!!!"
[She flails her arms dramatically as she yells. She then stops, gasping in realization.]
LILY: "Wait! Maybe YOU can help me! Could YOU pick out a book for me to bring to the sleepover?"
[She gestures to three book covers lying on a nearby table, each with very different designs. As she speaks, each one lights up in turn, along with a little sparkle effect.]
LILY: "Should I pick... 'The Lantern in the Fog', a spooky story with a cozy ending? Or maybe I should pick... 'The Midnight Circus'! It's full of magic, and riddles, and even a floating popcorn stand! Oh, oh! What about... 'Mr. Snugglebeast's Big Sleepy Adventure'? It's a heartwarming tale about a Snugglebeast who learns to snuggle with those he loves most! Hmm, I don't know, they're all so good... What do YOU think? Which one should I take to the sleepover...?"
[A choice menu then pops up, giving the viewer(s) the option to choose between the three aforementioned options. Again, there's a small scene that plays out depending on which choice you've made.]
[If "The Lantern in the Fog" is picked...]
[Cut to a close-up of the book. The book's cover has a dark blue and purple mist that swirls across the cover, with a small girl in a black cloak holding up an old-fashioned lantern. The background is done with watercolor paints, while the main girl on the cover is drawn in black-and-white, with a cross-hatching style of shadows. Lily gasps in awe at the choice.]
LILY (off-screen): "Ah, spooky AND sweet? Yes, yes, YES!! I'll be SURE to bring a flashlight... and maybe a spare blanket for Bun-Bun to hide under. You've got good taste, dear friend! Let's see what we've got here!"
[Lily takes the book and opens it, showing off the first couple of pages and reading them in a slightly dramatic voice.]
LILY (reading): "Once upon a time, there was a young girl named Elsie, who lived in the town of Wallow Hollow. The town of Wallow Hollow was infamous for being haunted by mysterious ghosts from across the land."
[Lily turns the page to show off the next two.]
LILY (reading): "As the mist rolled over the sleepy town of Willow Hollow, Elsie knew just what to do. She grabbed her father's old lantern, and set out to search for the ghosts..."
[She then closes the book, a wide grin on her face.]
LILY: "It's just the right amount of spooky! Not TOO scary, but just enough to make your blanket feel a little safer..."
[If "The Midnight Circus" is picked...]
[Cut to a close-up of the book. The book's cover has a floating circus tent with golden stars on its roof as it hangs mid-air under a smiling crescent moon. Balloons drift upward around it, and a silhouette of a juggling octopus rides a unicycle across a tightrope. The whole cover is drawn in a sort of shiny, plastic-y art style with bright colors. Lily giggles at the choice.]
LILY (off-screen): "Oh boy, I love this one! Every time I read it, I find something new in the background, like a juggling octopus, or a tap dancer with marshmallows for feet! Come on, lemme show you what I mean!"
[Lily takes the book and opens it, showing off the first couple of pages and reading them.]
LILY (reading): "Once, underneath the moon that never seemed to sleep, the Midnight Circus rolled into town on invisible wheels. Before you knew it, up sprang tents with stripes that looked (and tasted) like peppermint sticks!"
[Lily turns the page to show off the next two.]
LILY (reading): "But that wasn't all! You could also see a floating popcorn machine, balancing on top of a soap bubble. The machine said, 'Step right up! One kernel equals ten pleasant dreams! Step right up!' Ten pleasant dreams? Oh, boy!"
[She then closes the book, clearly trying to hold in a laugh.]
LILY: "It's so silly and wacky; it's like all the random thoughts in your head decided to get together and throw a party!"
[If "Mr. Snugglebeast's Big Sleepy Adventure" is picked...]
[Cut to a close-up of the book. The book's cover has a big, round plush creature with floppy ears and cozy pajamas, holding a steaming mug and a stuffed animal of its own. Behind him is a path of stars leading to a glowing bedtime storybook. The cover is drawn and painted using various pastel colors. Lily coos at the choice.]
LILY (off-screen): "Awwww, Mr. Snugglebeast... You always know how to warm my heart. This'll be the PERFECT book to read right before we all drift off to sleep. Come on, take a peek!"
[Lily takes the book and opens it, showing off the first couple of pages and reading them softly and gently.]
LILY (reading): "Once upon a nighttime, Mr. Snugglebeast packed his softest blanket, two extra cozy-wozy socks, and a mug of the warmest milk he could drink. Tonight, he would travel through the Valley of Yawns, in order to get the best rest he'd ever had."
[Lily turns the page to show off the next two.]
LILY (reading): "As Mr. Snugglebeast began to slowly trudge through the Valley, the winds began to softly whisper. They gently called out to Mr. Snugglebeast, 'Shhhh... shhhh... shhhh...' But Mr. Snugglebeast wouldn't go to sleep. Not yet..."
[She then closes the book, letting out a yawn.]
LILY: "Y'see? It's almost like a lullaby, but in storybook form..."
[After the previous scene with the chosen book is finished, Lily puts the chosen book away and cheers.]
LILY: "Oh, thank you, thank you, THANK you!! This book will be PERFECT for the sleepover!"
[Right after this, another knock is heard at Lily's door. She perks up and goes over to open it; Pibby and Bun-Bun are standing there, waving.]
PIBBY & BUN-BUN: "Hi, Lily!"
[Lily waves in response.]
LILY: "Hi, Pibby! Hi, Bun-Bun!"
PIBBY: "Did you figure out what book you're gonna bring to the sleepover?"
LILY: "You bet I did! ...Well, with a little help, of course."
[She briefly looks over to the audience as she says that, before looking back over to Pibby and Bun-Bun.]
BUN-BUN: "Ooh, ooh! Which one did you pick? Will you tell us? Huh, huh?"
[Lily shakes her head in amusement.]
LILY: "Sorry, Bun-Bun, but it's a surprise."
[She looks at the audience.]
LILY: "You'll just have to find out when we get there..."
[She then winks at the audience before looking back to the other two. Bun-Bun frowns and looks down solemnly at that.]
BUN-BUN: "Oh... okay."
PIBBY: "Hey, don't be sad, Bun-Bun! We'll read it once we get to the sleepover!"
[Bun-Bun perks up at that.]
BUN-BUN: "Okay! Let's go see Crocker now!"
PIBBY: "Woo-hoo! To Crocker's house we go!"
[The three all head off, and the scene transitions with a playful kazoo-and-banjo jingle as the trio skips along the neighborhood path. They arrive at a bright green house with alligator statues dressed like garden gnomes out front.]
PIBBY: "I bet Crocker's just BURSTING with excitement!"
BUN-BUN: "I bet he really wants to... HOP to it! Get it? 'HOP' to it?"
[The trio laugh at Bun-Bun's joke.]
[Cut to Crocker, who is appropriately bouncing around his room frantically - surrounded by all kinds of odds and ends - while muttering worriedly to himself. He then pops up in the middle of the room, talking to himself while holding a plush raccoon wearing sunglasses.]
CROCKER (to himself): "Okay, gotta think; I've narrowed it down to... three options! Good; that's only, like... a HUNDRED less than before...!"
[Just then, Crocker notices the audience. He drops the plush raccoon and turns towards them, holding out his arms.]
CROCKER: "Oh, hey! You got here JUST in time! I, uh... I need a little help. Pibby said I could only bring ONE group of objects to the sleepover party, but it... i-it's just so hard to DECIDE! Can you help me? Pleeeaaase??"
[A moment of silence for the audience to answer. After the moment of silence ends, Crocker cheers.]
CROCKER: "You will? Oh, great! So, I gathered up all the objects I wanted to bring, and I grouped them into categories! ...Kinda. Check it out!"
[The camera zooms over to show three separate groups of objects in different containers, with a colored rug underneath each. Group one is in a brown sack, and has a red rug underneath it. Group two is in a suitcase, and has a blue rug underneath it. Group three is in a cardboard box, and has a green rug underneath it.]
CROCKER (off-screen): "Okay, okay, so here's what I got."
[As he speaks, he hops over to each group, which lights up in turn, along with a little sparkle effect. First, he hops over to the first group, nearly tripping over himself.]
CROCKER: "First group, option one: my 'Super Silly Fun Sack'! It includes a banana-shaped toy phone, a joke soundboard, and - most importantly - my sock puppet companion, Gordon! This pack is for MAXIMUM giggles!"
[He then hops over to the next group, flopping onto his belly like a penguin.]
CROCKER: "And now, option two: my 'Sleepytime Survival Kit'! It's got my cozy blankie, my bedtime noise machine, and my favorite sleepytime snack: cheese and crackers! This kit will make sure I ACTUALLY get to sleep! ...Probably."
[Finally, he hops over to the last group, and poses cheerfully as he lands.]
CROCKER: "And finally, option three: my 'Make-A-Thing Box'! Among other things, it's got my travel glue, a little tool belt, and a pack of googly eyes! Y'know... for reasons. This one's for when my brain goes 'ZZZTT!' and I just gotta MAKE something!"
[He rushes over to the audience.]
CROCKER: "A-Alright, so, which one do I pick? Huh? Huh? Just remember: I trust YOUR brain more than MINE right now, so... No pressure!~"
[He then ducks away from the screen, allowing the viewer(s) to look at the options. A choice menu then pops up, giving the viewer(s) the option to choose between the three aforementioned options. Once again, there's a small scene that plays out depending on which choice you've made.]
[If the "Super Silly Fun Sack" is picked...]
[Crocker gasps dramatically, and then starts to laugh at the choice. Silly music starts to play.]
CROCKER: "Heheheheh, yes, YES!! The power of the giggles compels me! Weeeeee!!"
[Crocker then leaps joyfully into the sack, and comes out a yellow sock puppet on his hand. The puppet has googly eyes - as well as the classic "Groucho glasses" attire - glued onto its face. Crocker then starts performing as Gordon.]
CROCKER (as Gordon): "Greetings, fellow partygoers! Now listen here, old chap; did you bring ME any warm milk? Come on then, pip pip, let's make haste!"
[Crocker chuckles as he takes the sock puppet off and drops it back into the sack.]
CROCKER: "Oh man, Pibby's gonna laugh so hard, she'll hiccup GLITTER! Hmm, what else did I put in here?"
[He then dives back into the sack, and comes out holding the banana-shaped toy phone. He pretends to dial numbers on the phone - making "beep" noises with his mouth - and then pretends to make a call.]
CROCKER: "Yes, hello, hello? Give me one large pepperoni, please... with EXTRA banana!"
[He drops the phone into the bag, and hops out, grabbing a kazoo out of the sack. He gives the kazoo a loud "toot-toot" before putting it in the sack with the rest of the objects. The silly music comes to a stop after this. Crocker then turns to look at the audience.]
CROCKER: "Alright! Time to go spread some laughter at the sleepover; thanks a lot!"
[Crocker then hears a knock at the door. He rushes over, carrying the sack.]
CROCKER (sing-song): "I'm coming!~"
[If the "Sleepytime Survival Kit" is picked...]
[As a soft music box tune begins to play, Crocker tiptoes over to the suitcase, unlocks it with a "CLICK!", and then opens it. He pulls out a small dark green security blanket with bright yellow polka dots on it. He proceeds to hug it before wrapping it around him like a cape.]
CROCKER: "Blankie... engage Stealth Mode."
[Crocker yawns a little before putting the blanket back into the suitcase.]
[He then pulls out a small machine with speakers and two buttons on it; the bedtime noise machine. He presses the top button, which cycles through different sounds: First, it plays the sounds of rain and thunder, then the sounds of wind chimes, then the sounds of a crackling fireplace, and finally, all of the sounds playing at once. Crocker yawns again and shuts his eyes.]
CROCKER: "Ahhh yeah... that's the stuff..."
[Eventually, he opens his eyes again, and presses the second, lower button - which turns the sounds off - before putting the machine back into the suitcase.]
[Finally, Crocker pulls out his snack: cheese cubes and circular crackers, lined up on a tray shaped like a crescent moon.]
CROCKER: "Ah, my bedtime banquet... I-I shouldn't... not right now... Well... maybe just ONE..."
[He grabs a cracker and puts a cheese cube on it. He bites into it and smiles.]
CROCKER: "Mm-mm, delicious..."
[He finishes up the cracker with cheese, before yawning once more, and setting the tray back into the suitcase, before lying down and snoring, suddenly fast asleep.]
[Crocker then hears a knock at the door, causing him to wake up and gasp. He gets up, shuts the suitcase, picks it up, and rushes over, nearly tripping over himself in the process.]
CROCKER: "Ahgk!! I-I'm coming, I'm coming!"
[If the "Make-A-Thing Box" is picked...]
[As a peppy tinker toy-sounding tune begins to play, Crocker gasps and throws his arms in the air, bouncing in place.]
CROCKER: "Yes, yes, YES!! It's time to engage... Artist Mode!"
[He darts over to the box and flings it open, looking over at what's inside the box.]
CROCKER: "Alright, so, what've we got in here?"
[He yanks out the tool belt and wraps it around his waist, clicking it into place.]
CROCKER: "Let's see, let's see, okay... I've got a tool belt, some glue, and a whole bunch of other stuff. That's enough to make a MASTERPIECE!"
[He grabs a wooden picture frame, and sets it down on a nearby table. He speaks in a proud (and slightly exaggerated) tone of voice.]
CROCKER: "Today, I'm taking this ordinary picture frame, and turning it into a picture frame... that can stare RIGHT BACK at you!"
[He then takes his travel glue, and a pack of googly eyes from the box. He then rapidly starts gluing googly eyes onto the picture frame, until it's covered from top to bottom in the googly eyes. Crocker shows it off proudly.]
CROCKER: "Ta-daaa!~ Whaddya think? Isn't it great?! I think so!"
[He then takes his tools - including the tool box - and puts them in the box, shutting it. He cheers.]
CROCKER: "Yay! That was fun! This is gonna be GREAT for the sleepover; you never know when creativity will strike!"
[Crocker then hears a knock at the door. He rushes over, carrying the box.]
CROCKER: "Oh, here they are! Hold on, I'm coming!~"
[The door swings open and Crocker is greeted by Pibby, Bun-Bun, Lily, and now Skuna, all smiling and excited. Crocker waves to them.]
CROCKER: "Oh, hey guys! Hey, Skuna!"
[Everyone waves in return.]
PIBBY: "Hi, Crocker!"
SKUNA: "Yeah, hi! Did you get everything you needed for tonight?"
[Crocker holds up your container of choice, beaming proudly.]
CROCKER: "Yep, everything I need is right HERE, in my {Super Silly Fun Sack / Sleepytime Survival Kit / Make-A-Thing Box}!"
[Bun-Bun hops in delight.]
BUN-BUN: "Yay! Now we're ALL ready for the sleepover!"
LILY: "That we are, Bun-Bun!"
[Cut to Lily, who holds up your book of choice.]
LILY: "I've got the perfect book to read!"
[Cut to Crocker, who holds up your container of choice again.]
CROCKER: "I've got my special items!"
[Cut to Skuna, who holds up a tray of various snacks and drinks.]
SKUNA: "And my brother Mack helped me with the snacks and drinks!"
[Everyone off-screen makes an "Mmmm!" sound as they view the different items on the tray.]
[Cut to Pibby, who holds up the board game from earlier.]
PIBBY: "And I'M bringing my favorite game: 'Bunny on the Beanstalk'!"
CROCKER: "So... does this mean we're ready to go to the sleepover now?"
PIBBY: "Well, not EXACTLY..."
[All the other kids let out a "Huh?" at that.]
BUN-BUN: "B-But... What did we forget to do?"
CROCKER: "Yeah, we've got all our stuff ready!"
LILY: "Correct! AND we've invited just about everyone to the party!"
SKUNA: "Wait, are you saying we... FORGOT someone?!"
[Pibby nods at that.]
PIBBY: "That's right! We forgot all about a certain friend of ours; they're SUPER kind, they LOVE to sing and hug and learn, and they ALWAYS know just the way to go!"
[She turns to the audience.]
PIBBY: "Do YOU know who I'm talking about?"
[A moment of silence for the audience to answer. After the silence, Pibby nods cheerfully.]
PIBBY: "That's right! I'm talking about YOU, our best friend!"
[All the other kids peer in, one after the other.]
BUN-BUN: "Oh yeah!"
CROCKER: "That's right!"
LILY: "Our best friend!"
SKUNA: "How could we forget?"
[Pibby leans in closely.]
PIBBY: "Do YOU wanna come to the sleepover with us?"
[Another moment of silence for the audience to answer, as the other kids lean closer intently. After the silence, everyone gasps and cheers, talking over each other.]
PIBBY: "Hooray! They said 'yes'! I KNEW you'd say 'yes'!"
BUN-BUN: "Yay! They're coming to the sleepover!"
CROCKER: "Woo-hoo! Sleepover party with our best friend!"
LILY: "Oh, what a WONDERFUL night this will be!"
SKUNA: "Yes, yes, YES! It's party time!"
[After everyone gets done cheering, Pibby gestures for everyone - including the audience - to follow her.]
PIBBY: "Come on, guys; my house is THIS way!"
[We transition back to Pibby's house with an upbeat yet gentle music box tune. Everyone walks up to Pibby's door, Pibby stands front and center.]
PIBBY: "Hmm... I know we don't usually do this so late, but... how about we do roll call; just to make SURE everyone's here?"
[Everyone else cheers in agreement at that.]
BUN-BUN: "Oh! Yeah, yeah, yeah!"
CROCKER: "Yes! Let's do it!"
LILY: "Oh yes! Roll call, my favorite!"
SKUNA: "Oh boy, roll call!"
[Pibby turns and gestures to the audience.]
PIBBY: "Come on; you can sing the Roll Call Song too!"
🎵 SONG: THE ROLL CALL SONG 🎵
SINGER(S): PIBBY, BUN-BUN, CROCKER, LILY, SKUNA
[The Roll Call Song is another commonly used song, typically reserved for near the start of episodes that start in the school. Its appearance in this episode is one of the few exceptions to this formula.]
[NOTE: Certain lines will be marked with one of these markers: (P) for Pibby, (BB) for Bun-Bun, (C) for Crocker, (L) for Lily, (S) Skuna, or (ALL) for all of them. When a marker comes before a line or segment, that means the character sings that line or segment.]
[All the kids start to sing a chorus.]
(ALL) Come along and join the fun
The fun has only just begun
Let's find out what we'll do today
Laughing and learning along the way
[Pibby pops up to do her segment first.]
(P) You already know me; I'm Pibby!
Singing and dancing makes me so giddy
Hide-and-seek's always so much fun!
Won almost every time except one
[Bun-Bun then pops up to do his segment next.]
(BB) I'm Bun-Bun; Pibby's best pal, you see!
Learning and playing is the life for me!
I ask lots of questions, big or small
Always ready to learn and give it my all!
[Everyone starts up again; repeat chorus.]
(ALL) Come along and join the fun
The fun has only just begun
Every day, there's lots to do
And it's lots of fun when it's me and you
[Crocker then pops up to do his segment next.]
(C) Hi; I'm Crocker! Nice to meet ya!
Sometimes silly when I greet ya
My brain works in its own special way
But I'm still shining every day!
[Lily then pops up to do her segment next.]
(L) Hello there, Lily here, books in hand
The smartest one in our learning band
I love to read, and I know what's what
Want big words? I've got a lot!
[Everyone starts up again; repeat chorus.]
(ALL) Come along and join the fun
The fun has only just begun
Don't be shy, just come and play
We always do things our way
[Skuna then pops up to do their segment.]
(S) Skuna here, and I'm feelin' fine!
Every day with my friends is sublime
Spiders and clowns give me a fright
But I'm brave when it matters, day and night!
[Just then, Pibby pops up, the song pausing for a moment.]
(P) Now it's YOUR turn; tell us a little about yourself now!
[A chunk of instrumental plays, dedicated to your introduction.]
[After the instrumental break, Pibby cheers.]
(P) Great! Let's finish off Roll Call together!
[Everyone starts up again; repeat chorus.]
(ALL) Come along and join the fun
The fun has only just begun
There's lots to do, we've got lots to say
So let's find out what we'll do today!
[END SONG]
[Everyone giggles and cheers, feeling giddy after singing the Roll Call Song.]
BUN-BUN: "That was so much fun!"
CROCKER: "Yeah! We usually do Roll Call during the day!"
LILY: "But today, we did it at night! A nice change of pace, I must say."
SKUNA: "Yeah; ooh, that reminds me! Let's get inside so we can have our sleepover!
PIBBY: "Oh yeah, that's right! Come on in, everybody!"
[Pibby opens the door for everyone to step inside. Everyone steps inside one by one, with Pibby being the last to enter. She then gestures for the audience to follow along into the house.]
PIBBY: "That goes for YOU, too!"
[END OF REGULAR TRANSCRIPT; START OF CN-SYNCSYS]
Chapter 5: Captain Platinum in... "The Ghost Who Loves To Boast"
Summary:
And now for something... completely different.
Here we have a transcript for an entirely different show I came across during my research, but at least it was still worked on by Cartoon Network, so there's THAT for a vague connection.
Figured we need a little more variety in this collection, y'know? It can't just be all Pibby all the time... even though that's what this collection is literally NAMED after, but--
Y'know what, it doesn't matter; just deal with it, okay? Anyways, have the first of two different transcripts. Enjoy.

Chapter Text
THE ADVENTURES OF CAPTAIN PLATINUM
SEASON 4 - EPISODE 2, SEGMENT 1/3
"The Ghost Who Loves To Boast"
"Criminals fear him... Citizens respect him... People swoon over him... Children cheer his name..."
"Look up! Cruising through the sky... Is it a falcon? NO! Is it a jet plane? NO WAY! Brought to you by Crying Eagle Entertainment, in association with Cartoon Network Studios, it's Citaville's most beloved superhero... CAPTAIN PLATINUM!!!"
"He's faster than the speed of sound. He's stronger than 10 tons of steel! He's more powerful than 15 pounds of dynamite! And most importantly... He fights for liberty, equality, and peace for ALL citizens, big or small!"
"But he's not alone in the fight; he's also joined by his trusty sidekick... ALLOY BOY!!!"
"He's quick as a bunny, and as agile as a kangaroo. He has incredible powers of reasoning, he's GREAT with tech, AND he helps the police keep criminals of Citaville in check when Captain Platinum cannot. Sleep easy, citizens of Citaville; someone ELSE is keeping an eye on things so YOU don't have to!"
"Today's first adventure is called... The Ghost Who Loves To Boast!"
[EXT. - THE PLATINUM CITADEL - MORNING]
We fade in to see a gleaming skyscraper perched on a cliff just outside the city. The building shines bright with a metallic sheen, thanks in no small part to the beaming sun. The giant "P" logo spins slowly atop the tower, not unlike a satellite dish. We slowly zoom in as the narrator begins speaking.
NARRATOR (voice): "When last we left our heroes, they had saved Citaville's prized chocolate fountain from a dastardly recalibration! And now here we are, at the Platinum Citadel, home of Captain Planet and Alloy Boy."
[INT. - PLATINUM CITADEL – COMMAND ROOM]
We fade in to to see the inside of the citadel; more specifically, a sleek, high-tech command center. Holographic screens float in the air, and machines and devices of unknown functionality line wall after wall. Captain Platinum stands at the main console, hands on his hips, while Alloy Boy is resting on a swivel chair, munching on popcorn.
Captain Platinum sighs in relief.
CAPTAIN PLATINUM: "A new record, Alloy Boy; it's been about two weeks and a HALF since we've had an emergency alert."
Cut to Alloy Boy, who's digging his hand into the popcorn bucket.
ALLOY BOY: "Yeah... But Captain, don't you think it's gotten a little BORING around here?"
Captain Platinum chuckles at that, looking at Alloy Boy.
CAPTAIN PLATINUM: "Alloy, my boy, shouldn't you be GLAD we get some peace every now and then?"
Alloy Boy shrugs.
ALLOY BOY: "Eh, I guess you're right about that."
Alloy Boy then munches on some popcorn before looking at Captain Platinum again.
ALLOY BOY (mouth full): "So... Captain, I've got a question."
Alloy Boy swallows his food before speaking further.
ALLOY BOY: "I've read some things in the newspaper, and I'd like to get your thoughts."
ALLOY BOY: "Do you think ghosts are actually REAL, or do you think they're just make-believe?"
Captain Platinum clenches his fist, speaking in a grave tone.
CAPTAIN PLATINUM: "Alloy Boy... there are four things I don't like dealing with: Arbomite, expired dairy products, magicians... and GHOSTS."
Alloy Boy raises an eyebrow at that.
ALLOY BOY: "Wait, hold on; magicians make the list, but not supervillains? Or what about those goo monsters we fought months ago?"
CAPTAIN PLATINUM: "Supervillains, you can punch. Goo monsters, you can clean up. But those last two? They're downright UNPREDICTABLE! Why, a magician can make himself disappear with a mere smoke bomb! And ghosts? Don't even get me STARTED on ghosts!"
Suddenly, a bright red light flashes on the main console, and an alarm beeps urgently.
CAPTAIN PLATINUM: "Emergency alert! There's a call coming in from the Mayor!"
Captain Platinum quickly taps a button, and the distressed face of Mayor Martha Milquetoast - henceforth referred to as "Mayor Milquetoast" - appears on the main holographic screen. She looks flustered, her hair a bit disheveled.
MAYOR MILQUETOAST: "Captain Platinum! Alloy Boy! Thank goodness I got through; it's an EMERGENCY!"
CAPTAIN PLATINUM: "What is it, Mayor? Has that dastardly disguiser Metamorph escaped his cell?"
ALLOY BOY: "Are the Bully Boyz going on tour again?"
MAYOR MILQUETOAST: "It's worse than that; there's MAYHEM down at the Citaville Museum of History and Science! We fear that there may be a... a GHOST causing a ruckus!"
Captain Platinum's eyes widen, and he takes a step back from the console.
CAPTAIN PLATINUM: "A... a g-ghost?! Say it isn't so, dear Mayor!"
CAPTAIN PLATINUM: "I'm afraid it IS so, Captain; that ghost has already managed to break some of our most priceless historical artifacts. And YOU and Alloy Boy have gotta get down there and STOP that ghastly ghoul before it can do any more harm!"
Captain Platinum gulps.
CAPTAIN PLATINUM: "R-Right. We'll get it done for you, Mayor."
ALLOY BOY: "Yeah; we'll take care of it as soon as possible."
MAYOR MILQUETOAST: "Thank you very much; once again, Citaville is counting on you two. I KNOW you two will have what it takes... Mayor Milquetoast, out."
The Mayor vanishes from the screen, leaving Captain Platinum shaken up. Alloy Boy puts a hand on the Captain's shoulder.
ALLOY BOY: "Captain, remember what you've always told me? You've always said: 'A true hero isn't fearless, they just don't let their fear stop them.' Come on; we've got a city to protect!"
Captain Platinum hesitates for a moment, takes a deep breath, and then smiles at Alloy Boy, clenching his fist determinedly.
CAPTAIN PLATINUM: "You're right, Alloy Boy, you're ABSOLUTELY right; it's not about NOT being scared... It's about doing what needs to be done anyway!"
Captain Platinum rushes off-screen.
CAPTAIN PLATINUM: "Ready your Noderangs, Alloy Boy; we've got a museum to save!"
Alloy Boy grins and rushes to catch up, before heading in a slightly different direction. We then transition to the next scene.
[EXT. - CITAVILLE MUSEUM OF HISTORY AND SCIENCE - DAY]
We're now seeing the exterior of the Citaville Museum of History and Science. It's an impressive, ornate building, but now it's in disarray. Police cars are parked haphazardly outside, their lights flashing. Museum staff and a few curious citizens are gathered behind a police barricade, looking worried.
One of the large, display windows on the ground floor is shown to be cracked, with a faint, shimmering, translucent aura around it.
NARRATOR (voice): "Meanwhile, at the Citaville Museum of History and Science, chaos reigns! The apparition is ALREADY making a name for itself; and NOT in a good way!"
Suddenly, Captain Platinum streaks down from the sky, landing with a heroic pose in front of the museum. A moment later, the sleek, silver Platin-Jet zooms in, landing gently beside him. The cockpit canopy slides open, and Alloy Boy leaps out, Noderangs already stashed in a holster on his utility belt.
Captain Platinum looks around, bracing himself.
CAPTAIN PLATINUM: "Alright, Alloy Boy, remember the plan: Assess the situation, protect the innocent, and whatever you do... do NOT let it float through you."
Alloy Boy nods.
ALLOY BOY: "You got it, Captain; Operation: Ghost-Busting on a Budget is a go. Let's move."
The two heroes then rush towards the main entrance of the museum.
[INT. - CITAVILLE MUSEUM OF HISTORY AND SCIENCE - GROUND FLOOR]
The museum is a mess. Shattered display cases, toppled dinosaur bones, and scattered historical scrolls litter the floor. A few police officers huddle nervously near the entrance, their flashlights flickering despite the lights being on. A faint, echoing laugh reverberates through the grand hall. One of the guards notices Captain Platinum and Alloy Boy and gasps.
MUSEUM GUARD: "C-Captain! Alloy Boy! Thank goodness you're both here! I-It-- It just came from outta nowhere! It just floated right past us, bragging about how it was the greatest thief in HISTORY!"
Alloy Boy chuckles.
ALLOY BOY: "'Greatest thief in history', huh? Sounds like this ghost's got an ego bigger than Captain's trophy room!"
Captain Platinum puts a hand to his chest.
CAPTAIN PLATINUM: "Alloy, my boy, my trophy room is a carefully curated archive of all my heroic endeavors AND my fondest memories! It is NOT oversized."
Before Alloy Boy can retort, a loud "WHOOSH!" of wind sweeps through the hall. A shimmering, spectral figure materializes in the air; pale, transparent, and glowing faintly blue. He wears a beret and a robe, but his form constantly wavers like smoke.
GHOST: "At last! The great Captain Platinum and his moronic minion arrive to face... ME!"
ALLOY BOY: "That's 'sidekick' to YOU, buster! Who ARE you, anyway?"
The ghost flourishes midair, bowing like an actor on stage.
LORD BRAGGART: "I am the great Lord Braggart! The most daring, the most dashing, the most devastatingly DELIGHTFUL spirit ever to haunt Citaville! I have stolen from kings, baffled scholars, and terrified toddlers alike! And today, I will--"
Alloy Boy crosses his arms, unimpressed, as he interrupts Braggart.
ALLOY BOY: "Sheesh, you even brag in your NAME? What's next, 'Count Vauntula'?"
Braggart's glow turns blood red as he gets angry.
LORD BRAGGART: "Silence, fool!! Perhaps you need a DEMONSTRATION of my skills!"
Lord Braggart twirls and snaps spectral fingers. A nearby display case bursts open, launching a collection of globes into the air. He also grabs Alloy Boy in the process, sending him along into the air as he yelps in surprise. He juggles them all with ease, cackling, his glow having gone back to blue.
LORD BRAGGART: "Behold, even your precious material goods bend to my superior skills!"
Alloy Boy shouts, trying to avoid getting hit by the juggled globes.
ALLOY BOY: "H-Hey! When I said I wanted some more airtime, this is NOT what I meant!"
Captain Platinum gasps.
CAPTAIN PLATINUM: "You FIEND! Unhand Alloy Boy and those glowing globes at ONCE!"
Braggart squints at Captain Platinum smugly.
LORD BRAGGART: "And just what are you going to do if I DON'T, Captain Platinum?"
Captain Platinum clenches and palms his fist.
CAPTAIN PLATINUM: "This ends NOW, phantom! No one - ghost or otherwise - threatens my city, and ESPECIALLY not my dear sidekick!"
Captain Platinum lunges forward, throwing a mighty punch... only for it to pass harmlessly through Lord Braggart. The Captain's momentum sends him crashing into a towering suit of medieval armor, which topples down with a deafening "CLANG!". Braggart laughs uproariously.
LORD BRAGGART: "Pathetic! You can't fight what you can’t touch! Perhaps I should add 'humiliating Citaville's so-called hero' to my long, legendary list of accomplishments!"
Still being juggled by the globes, Alloy Boy groans and facepalms.
ALLOY BOY: "Ugh... Where are the Ghostbusters when ya need 'em?!"
Suddenly, Braggart cackles and tosses Alloy Boy higher into the air before the boy manages to press a button on the left side of his belt, producing a grappling hook from the middle. Alloy Boy snags a beam and flips to the ground, landing with a huff.
ALLOY BOY: "Okay, lesson learned: ghosts do NOT like to play fair."
He turns to look at Captain Platinum, who is trying to get the medieval armor suit back to its prior position.
ALLOY BOY: "Captain, it looks like we're gonna have to get CREATIVE with this one."
CAPTAIN PLATINUM: "Hmph. You're right, Alloy Boy; this calls for brains over brawn. The floor is yours..."
Alloy Boy smirks, clenching his fists in determination.
ALLOY BOY: "I'm on it, Captain!"
Alloy Boy grabs a Noderang from his holster, positions it carefully, then flings it. It flies towards the ghost, and flies right through it.
LORD BRAGGART: "Ha! Fool, did you honestly expect to hit me with THAT thing?"
Alloy Boy looks smugly at the ghost with his arms crossed.
ALLOY BOY: "Who said I was aiming at YOU?"
Braggart stares blankly.
LORD BRAGGART: "What?"
The Noderang bounces off a series of exhibits - a dinosaur skeleton, a bronze statue, a display plaque - until it strikes a nearby control panel for the museum's "experimental hologram projector", as it says on the side of the projector. With a hum, the projector suddenly bursts to life, filling the room with bright, overlapping beams of solid light.
The holograms flicker and shift, forming barriers, grids, and shimmering walls of color. Lord Braggart looks startled, his form beginning to distort.
LORD BRAGGART: "W-What?! What trickery is THIS???"
Alloy Boy grins.
ALLOY BOY: "We know WE can't touch you... but LIGHT can!"
Lord Braggart shrieks as the beams of refracted light catch his shifting form, distorting him like a fly trapped in glass. His movements grow sluggish as the hologram grid closes in. Captain Platinum rushes over.
CAPTAIN PLATINUM: "Brilliant thinking, Alloy Boy; containment through illumination!"
Alloy Boy chuckles.
ALLOY BOY: "Guess you can mark THIS as your first-ever loss, Lord Braggart!"
Lord Braggart roars, struggling against the light walls, his glow flickering between red and blue.
LORD BRAGGART: "NOOOOOO!!! You may have been able to foil my plans THIS time! But I'll be BACK. Lord Braggart NEVER quits! You'll seeeeeeeee...!"
He yells the last line as his form finally fades completely. We then fade to the next scene.
[INT. - CITAVILLE MUSEUM OF HISTORY AND SCIENCE - LATER]
The museum is still a little worse for wear - some toppled exhibits, scattered papers, and a few broken globes - but the major chaos has most definitely been contained. The projector has been shut down, and Captain Platinum and Alloy Boy stand triumphantly in the center of the hall, citizens around cheering and thanking the two.
CAPTAIN PLATINUM: "Another crisis averted thanks to your quick thinking, Alloy Boy!"
Alloy Boy waves him off, laughing.
ALLOY BOY: "All in a day's work, Captain! But I DO have to figure out how to get a hologram projector into my belt... that was AWESOME!"
A group of museum staff cheer and clap from the side, dusting themselves off. One of them walks up and shakes Alloy Boy's hand, then Captain Platinum's hand, as he speaks.
MUSEUM CURATOR: "You two are truly remarkable! Once again, Citaville can rest easily thanks to you!"
The sound of sirens suddenly grows outside, which Captain Platinum and Alloy Boy notice.
[EXT. - CITAVILLE MUSEUM OF HISTORY AND SCIENCE - DAY]
Cut to the outside of the museum where Captain Platinum and Alloy Boy head out. Mayor Milquetoast suddenly arrives in her sleek Citaville cruiser, along with news reporters snapping photos. She waves energetically as video cameras start rolling.
MAYOR MILQUETOAST: "Captain Platinum! Alloy Boy! We owe you a HUGE debt of gratitude! Yet again, Citaville is safe thanks to your bravery!"
Alloy Boy salutes to the Mayor.
ALLOY BOY: "We're just doing our job, Mayor!"
Captain Platinum nods.
CAPTAIN PLATINUM: "Indeed! And let this be a reminder to all: whether ghostly or gooey, no villain can hope to outmatch the courageousness and cleverness of Citaville's heroes! But you are more than welcome to try."
The heroes strike a heroic pose as the museum staff cheer, the sunlight catching the metallic gleam of Captain Platinum's emblem.
[EXT. - THE PLATINUM CITADEL - SUNSET]
Cut back to the exterior of the Platinum Citadel for a brief moment.
NARRATOR (voice): "Later, back at the Platinum Citadel..."
[INT. - PLATINUM CITADEL – COMMAND ROOM]
Cut to the Command Room, where Captain Platinum is observing the main console once more, and Alloy Boy polishes one of his Noderangs.
ALLOY BOY: "So, Captain... were you just messing with me when you said you were scared of ghosts?"
Captain Platinum scoffs.
CAPTAIN PLATINUM: "Oh, no. I was TERRIFIED, believe me, I was. But I know better than to show fear in the face of adversity. If I run, I'm planning something. If I hide, I'm waiting. Never let the enemy know your next move, Alloy Boy; that's called the 'element of surprise'."
Alloy Boy chuckles after Captain Platinum's brief speech.
ALLOY BOY: "Alright, I can buy that. Say, Captain, think we have time to hit the new pizza joint before the next bad guy strikes?"
Captain Platinum laughs, clapping Alloy Boy on the shoulder.
CAPTAIN PLATINUM: "Lead the way, Alloy, my boy! But remember: Heroes ALWAYS eat responsibly."
The narrator speaks one last time as the two heroes leave for the town.
NARRATOR (voice): "And so, once again, Citaville's dynamic duo saves the day, and can enjoy a night of peace. But remember, dear viewers: In a city THIS big, there's always something lurking just around the corner. Don't go anywhere; there's more Adventures of Captain Platinum coming after this..."
[FADE OUT, END SEGMENT.]
