Day 1 - In which the Bachelor and the Haruspex receive decidedly different welcomes to the Town

By the end of which the Bachelor finds himself battling a truly unvanquishable foe. |
In which the Haruspex turns from a rightful heir into a dangerous criminal. |
In which the right and the left hand clutch the head and realize for the first time that they are two parts of a single whole
Day 2 - In which the healers get their bearings and lose them all over again

In which the Bachelor gets to restructure authority as an equal and accept emergency powers. |
In which the Haruspex under any circumstances gains more than he loses—for the first and the last time. |
Day 3 - In which our heroes begin to play their parts, and promptly fail to do so
|
In which the Bachelor is offered to hunt the elusive enemy and evaluate the chances of necrosis. |
In which the Haruspex uncovers the intricacies of the secret Steppe code at a great personal risk. |
Day 4 - In which it all goes to hell
| By the end of which the Bachelor realizes that the town is unprepared for an epidemic of this scale. | By the end of which the Haruspex makes a friend and finds the half-dead enemy. |
Day 5 - In which it would be much easier to like the dead
| In which the Bachelor regrets his affection for the living and would very much prefer to like the dead. | In which the Haruspex gets a chance to grab Her Highness the Elusive Sand Plague by the tail. |
Day 6 - In which the truth begins to reveal itself

In which the Bachelor is offered several possible sources of the infection to choose at his discretion. |
By the end of which the Haruspex finds out just how important a role mythical creatures can play in our lives. |
Day 7 - In which quite a lot happens very fast
|
In which the Bachelor gets a chance to uncover the truth and find an invaluable ally. |
Fateful—which is to say, crucial and life-changing—for the Haruspex. |
Day 8 - In which the Earth may or may not be up to any good
|
By the end of which the Bachelor can prove once again that the Earth is never up to any good. |
In which the Haruspex gets the idea of who He Who Was Marked by the Secret Sign may be. |
Day 9 - In which the healers realize they must fight for their victory
|
In which the town is occupied and the worried children ask for the Bachelor's help for the first time ever. |
In which it becomes apparent that the Haruspex will have to fight for the Kin and the land of his ancestors. |
Day 10 - In which the choice begins to seem clear, and the healers muddy it all up again
|
In which the creators of the impossible take the stage to discuss captured miracles. |
In which it becomes apparent that the Haruspex's victory will be defined by him making the right choice. |
Day 11 - In which the healers realize what they must do
|
In which the Kains' mission reveals its new and quite unexpected aspects to the Bachelor. |
In which the Haruspex finds himself trapped, for his dilemma consists of mutually exclusive truths. |
Day 12 - In which it finally becomes apparent what it was all about
| In which the Bachelor falls into despair. | In which the Haruspex creates life from death. |
Day 13 - In which the healers discover the world has not stopped

In which the Bachelor loses his life as he knew it. |
In which the Changeling disappears. |
In which the Haruspex begins a new life. |
Day 30 - In which the Bachelor departs, and the Haruspex is surprised to discover he’ll miss him

In which the Bachelor feels a sadness tempering his joy.

In which the Haruspex wonders if he'll ever see the Bachelor again . |
No one misses those terrible twelve days. Maybe a few people. Just a bit. Not for the reasons they might expect.
