Work Text:
In faux Winter's breath, the snowflakes fall,
A silent world, a festive hall.
With timid heart — I sought to share,
A love so pure — beyond compare.
Beneath the mistletoe —I stood and waited (I read the tomes and knew the cues)
In hopes you'd see, and understand.
My glances, whispers, soft and light,
Yet you — oblivious — almost polite.
The candles flickered, shadows danced,
I offered hints — a fleeting chance.
Your laughter, bright, a melody, so pure
Yet blind to all my subtle plea.
My mind a-moored
The holly's red, our minds embrace,
A season's charm, a hopeful grace.
And then — a spark — a sudden gleam,
You turned to me, as in a dream.
Your eyes met mine, a dawning light,
The truth unveiled, a love in sight.
With gentle touch, a kiss bestowed,
In quiet quarters, our mind aglow.
It’s what I dreamed — what I wished for so
Long that I thought the day would never come
Confess to me; my heart — my soul
What is yet for us to become.
