“This is gonna be great babe!“ Derek exclaimed happily. Trevor nodded his head enthusiastically, hand quickly tightening itself around Derek's. The black haired man gave him a playful look, pulling him down for a quick peck.
“It's going to be AWESOME!“ Trevor suddenly jumped.
He quickly started to look around. Personally for Trevor, a carnival theme for the next season wouldn't have been his first pick… but he didn't want to complain about it to Kristal.
He finally gets to spend time with Derek. Alone.
Be a host with Derek. Alone. Again.
They learned their lesson last time about killing innocent creatures. Animal cruelty does NOT look good on their job applications.
“Hey Trev! Look at this clown head.. I already have a challange idea in mind…“ Derek said in deep thought. Trevor's smile slowly faded. “Yeah! No.“ He shook his head. “Whatever you have in mind, save it for later!!!”
Trevor finally managed the courage to actually look at the creepy clown face, and immediately he covered his face with his hair, or at least, tried to. He should really let his hair get longer! Like back in college.
Trevor heard small snickers come from next to him.
“Heh, still scared of clowns? I thought you grew up from college Trev.” Derek snaked an arm around Trevor’s shoulders pulling him closer. “Shouldn’t you be the fearless one, since you’re the “Good Host” of season 1?” He teased Trevor harder.
Trevor’s frown deepened. “Hey! Why are you being so mean!” He gave the shorter man a judging look, shaking his head slowly. Derek shrugged, “Mean? Or just honest babe? There’s a big difference.” He nudged Trevor’s side.
“I know something that’s not big.” Trevor muttered. “Excuse me?!” Derek looked at him shocked. “It is very big! I mean- no! I mean yes!?” His face was redder than a tomato. Trevor smiles mischievously. “Hah! Still got it!”
He pumped up his fist in victory. Derek grumbled something, but Trevor decided to ignore him and wander off farther into the amusement park…
There were many challenges they could do here, from the ferris wheel to the cool bumper cars. Maybe they could do a challenge where the new contestants would have to kick off the other players to win a prize.
Yeah, something safe and fun!
“We should make them run each other over with their bumper cars!” Or not. “Jesus Derek! They’re real people not video game characters!”
“Oh great idea Trev! We should make another vr challenge, this time they all have to fight to the death!”
Trevor gave him a questioning look. “Isn’t that what we did in season 1? With the zombie apocalypse trope?” he said, “ Nope! My dear Trevor, the zombies had to kill them! They were trying to survive the whole challenge, and may I add that Jake and Tom got quite busy in that vr world.”
Trevor was horrified. “Okay! Okay, enough How did Jake and Tom even get involved in our conversation!” He quickly put his hand over Derek’s mouth.
Derek just laughed the whole way through, he bit Trevor’s hand to get him to stop. Trevor yelped back in pain. “Shouldn’t we try to make our challenges a bit safer than last season? And perhaps, a bit
more creative than just murder…” Derek smiled sheepishly. “Erm, well yeah! I guess you’re right.”
Trevor smiled.
This was definitely the best place to continue their show. “On that note, where should we start cleaning up? The ferris wheel maybe? Since it’s the biggest, aside from the clown head of course, but I’d rather leave that for last…”
Trevor giggled nervously. “Wonder why!” Derek said out loud. Trevor just pouted at Derek’s smug look on his face.
“How about we talk about you, moving in with me?” Derek asked. It suddenly got very quiet. Trevor just stared at him, he didn’t really know where to start. “Well, er… you see! I don’t know if my parents would be-“ “You’re 32, Trev.”
Trevor laughed awkwardly. “Look, I still want to fix my relationship with my parents! After the whole jail thing, they’ve kind of been distant.
I don’t want to lose my parents like that, not that easily at least.” Derek didn’t say anything, just nodded. “Well they shouldn’t have shunned you away after getting arrested, I wouldn’t really say that’s good parenting.”Trevor sighed.
“Yeah, well! Considering I had a great record throughout my whole life, being the top of our class, good grades, good looks! I was great at a lot of things! This kinda makes me look bad, Derek.” He said, a bit annoyed.
“Why did you go with me? You could have easily blamed everything on me.” Trevor gave Derek a soft glance, Derek couldn’t really place what emotion the taller man had on his face. “Seriously? Giving up on my first love that easily? No way!” Trevor suddenly smiled, the mood instantly got lifted, how DID Trevor do that?
“Pft- first love. Yeah, alright.”
Derek gave him an amused chuckle. “Nope! I’m a hundred percent serious! Whether I knew it or not, I just couldn’t stand to be away from you.”
Derek stopped his cleaning and turned around to look at Trevor, only to see Trevor hiding his face, pretending to look at the overgrown grass.
He walked towards Trevor, who wasn’t very far away and spun him around.
“You sound cringe.” Derek said and before Trevor could even get offended he kissed him. Not a short peck this time, a bit longer, a bit more meaningful. “That was almost better than the first time we kissed!” Trevor said.
“Seriously? You ruined the moment Trev.” The taller man beamed. “Heh, sorry babe! But you did stop me first from continuing to talk about my parents…” Derek sighed. “Just don’t talk about them anymore, I know I’m coming off as a brute, but don’t let them weight you down right now… You moving in with me, is your choice Trev. I only care about your opinion, not your parents, not anyone else’s. Just you.”
Before Derek could continue a loud ring interrupted their bonding moment.
Derek groaned and pulled out his phone from his back pocket. Kristal? What now?
Trevor gave him a comforting nudge, “Well? Answer! Maybe it’s more great news!” Derek just laughed. Yeah, it couldn’t possibly get better than this.
“Heeey, Kristal.” But it was not Kristal’s voice that answered him back” Hey guys!” It was… Oliver? “Oliver? What are you doing with Kristal’s phone?” Derek asked.
“Uhh, long story! Anyways, how would you guys feel about having an intern!”
Derek looked at Trevor, the taller man happily nodded “yes”. “Hm, sure, Trevor likes the idea of that.” He could hear Oliver chuckle. “Alright, I see Trevor is the man of the relationship! But ignoring that, I wondered if I could maybe come back! I’m not quite ready to resign yet! Not like Kristal at least! This show is too good!”
“Seriously!! You’d wanna come back! And be an intern” Trevor yelled into the phone. “Yes! Of course you could come back! That’d be great!” Oliver laughed. “I knew you’d say yes! Alright now all I need is Trevor’s phone number, since I only have yours Derek! So I can get all the intern stuff ready-“
Derek ended the call. “What?! Derek! Why did you do that?!” Trevor pushed him lightly. Derek stumbled back. “He was literally hitting on you! While on call with me! And while he was talking with Kristal’s phone! Who does that!?
Trevor stared at him. “Oh my god! You’re jealous haha! You’re so jelly I can’t believe it! He’s our INTERN silly!!! And plus he’s right, I never gave him my phone number… Even though I was literally his boss back in season 1.” Derek kept his mouth shut, not wanting to admit he felt a bit jealous. Until he finally spoke up.
“Alright, maybe things could get better.”
