Work Text:
Akaashi was sitting at his school desk pretending Bokuto wasn’t literally on the floor next to him on his desk, on his knees, begging. His classmates were staring and giving him weird looks, and quite honestly Akaashi didn’t blame them, Bokuto was being quite loud and he is eyes were large and pleading and his head was leaning in such a way that the weight of his hair beat the gel that held it together and gave it a leaning downward appearance. Altogether his appearance was quite the sight.
“Bokuto-san, if you would kindly do me the favor of getting up from the floor and exiting the room before the teacher comes in, that would be greatly appreciated.” The last time Bokuto had been in the classroom, he’d been kicked out of the room by a very angry teacher, a full foot shorter than him but looking quite menacing. Of course this was after she’d found out Bokuto had spent 32 minutes of class pretending to be a second year student so he could spend more time with Akaashi, so it was understandable.
“But-but-but, you haven’t said you would AGAASHIII!!” And Akaashi glanced at the wall clock, three minutes before the teacher arrived.
He shifted in his seat so he was fully facing the captain, “that is because I don’t plan to say yes, Bokuto-san.”
“Noooooo,” and the way he said it would have you thinking Akaashi had shoved a knife in between his ribs, “you promised me though! You promised and I thought you kept your promises!” That was true, Akaashi had technically agreed to this already at an earlier time, but to be fair he didn’t know what saying yes had implied back then. He’d said it as a joke, he hadn’t thought Bokuto would take it seriously, he hadn’t thought Bokuto would even remember.
Akaashi looked at the clock again, two minutes... It wasn’t worth it. “Fine. Fine I’ll do it, come to my house tomorrow at five. Now, leave now before my teac-” Bokuto was already standing, grabbing Akaashi clear off his seat in the process, hugging him close and spinning him, no trace of the pitiful being that was on the floor literally seconds ago. “Put me down, Bokuto-san.” And he did, the bi-colored hair boy set Akaashi back on his chair, grabbed his bag and exited the room, exactly 32 seconds before Akaashis teacher walked into the room.
Bokuto arrived at exactly 5 o’clock to Akaashi’s house, two black wardrobe bags in his hands and a bright wide smile on his face. He handed one bag to Akaashi and he opened it to take a peek, the moment he did he frowned. “No. If I’m doing this I demand the blue one.” He looked up to see Bokuto pouting but he didn’t feel a single ounce of sympathy. Bokuto handed the wardrobe bag in his hand to Akaashi without any protest, Akaashi took it, turned on his heel, into his room, and shut the door behind him.
When he came out he was wearing the items in the bag, and he saw that Bokuto had changed in the times in his bag. Bokuto was wearing a onesie, red, from head to toe, on top there was a circle and on his belly a gray square. He looked absolutely ridiculous, however, Akaashi couldn’t really say much because he was wearing an identical copy of the suit, except on top of his head there was an upside down triangle.
The smile on Bokuto’s face was lighting up the entire room and Akaashi could only smile back and stretch his hand out to him, “alright, lets go.” They left the house dressed as Tinky-Winky and Po from Teletubbies and walked to the cafe where they were supposed to meet up with Kuroo and Kenma, who were dressed as Laa-Laa and Dipsy respectively. The moment Kuroo saw them he pulled out small black buckets that read “Happy Halloween” and gave two to Bokuto who passed one to Akaashi.
The two taller boys in the group ran ahead and left the other two behind, Kenma and Akaashi shared a look, one that said I’m judging you for being here but I’m here too so really who am I to judge . Akaashi burst into laughter with Kenmaat the ridiculousness of their situation. Once they stopped, he sighed “Let's go before they do something stupid.” So the two boys followed and despite their complaints at one point or another, they had to admit they had a fun night.
