Poems of the Heart

Summary:

Just a poetry that I wrote. Recently, I found out that my entire relationship of one year was based on lies and nothing more. And the experiences prompted me to write this piece as a way to put my feelings out there. It hurts, knowing that the one I used to adore never actually reciprocated the feelings.

But I guess this is what life's all about, no?

Anyways, I do hope you will enjoy this piece. I know it's something very different from what I used to write.

Chapter 1: The Beauty & Pain of Love

Chapter Text

Love, a fleeting dream, so pure and bright,
A flame that burns with passion, a warmth that's in sight.
It's the gentle touch, the whispered words, the glance,
That makes our hearts skip beats, and our souls take a dance.

With love, our worlds align, our hearts beat as one,
We're lost in each other's eyes, forever begun.
It's the sweet surrender, the giving and taking,
A bond that's unbreakable, a love that's forsaking.

But alas, love can be a cruel, fleeting thing,
A whispered promise, a vow that's not meant to sing.
For when love vanishes, like smoke in the air,
Leaves behind only betrayals, and heartbreaks to share.

The memories we made, the laughter we've shared,
The tears we've cried, the scars we've bared.
The shattered pieces of our broken hearts,
The longing to be whole, to never depart.

Love's an illusion, a mirage on the sand,
A beauty that deceives, a heart that's at hand.
It's a game of trust and chance, of give and take,
But when love betrays, our hearts are left to ache.

Yet still we chase it, this fleeting dream,
This ephemeral feeling, this heart that's to beam.
For in love's brief moment, we find our highest high,
A glimpse of heaven, a taste of what's to come by.

So let us cherish love, while it's still in sight,
And hold on tight to its warmth, its light.
For when it vanishes, like sand between our hands,
We'll be left with only memories, of love that stands.
