Chapter 1: How it Was
Notes:
Please know we're talking about Dark Sun/Solstice and this also plays in his dimension at the moment.
Chapter Text
Crow's optics opened with an almost silent click. She stared up at the pale, filthy ceiling silently, thinking. With a sigh, she sat up and put her elbows onto her knees, leaning her faceplate into her palms as she looked at the remains of the S.T.A.F.F. bots. "Moon still didn't learn..." She muttered, unplugged herself from the charger and stood up, stretching all four of her arms. With another sigh, she slumped her shoulders and glared in front of herself. After a few moments of silent thinking, she went over to the shelf, wiped the dust from it with a hand while she put on her crow like mask with the other two. Another day. Another day with her delusional brothers. Another day with those loud children. "C'est la vie." She muttered then walked onto the terrace of the room, sitting on it's edge and staring down into the colorful daycare. She saw the solar animatronic walk around cleaning. Her brother, Sun, never rested in her opinion. She never once saw him charge. But that's not her worry. Her worry was to get what her brother wanted. Because that made him happy, and what made him happy made her happy. She didn't care about the cost. She never did. She didn't when she had to end that security guard, nor did she when she had to forcefully drag Montgomery down to Parts & Service. It made Sunny happy, and until it did, she didn't care. It was always like this. Their Moon didn't understand that. Moon didn't let them separate. He didn't let Sun do a lot of things. He didn't want them to punish children or hurt parents who did things bad. Big words from him, he always kept destroying the S.T.A.F.F. bots. He was just a jerk. But Sunny? No, Crow loved her solar brother more than anything. She liked making him happy, because that made her happy. It didn't make sense they say. But it did and a lot. They would have decommissioned her if not for Sun. If he wouldn't have ripped apart those mechanics she'd be gone by now, her AI erased, her body destroyed and mangled, hidden away from plain sight in the underground pizzeria. Forgotten. If not for Sun, she wouldn't be anymore. She owed this to him. She did.
• Crow dragged the malfunctioning animatronic behind her, humming along to the tone on the speakers. "Oh yeah oh yeah~ Time is on my side~." She did just as Sunny asked her to do. She was a better sibling than Moon. Moon wasn't even their sibling at this point. She turned around and grinned at the gator. "Yes it is~." Laughing she dragged the animatronic down to Parts & Service. She kicked the big black double doors open. She twirled around snickering and dropped the animatronic in front of her brother's feet. "Served as you ordered, brother~!" She said and looked down at the solar animatronic, who hummed in acknowledgement. "Good good..." His voice was calm and soft as always, soothing yet unnerving. Crow picked up the gator yet again, then put him into the chair, strapping the Glamrock to it, leaving the room soon after. She didn't care about the yells of protest that came from Monty. The pleas for help or screams of agony that came from him. She hated him more than anything. She closed the doors and looked down at her ripped of fourth arm, her grin faltering for a blink, before it grew back and she started singing again. "Oh yeah oh yeah~, time is on my side~!" She went back up to the daycare, jumping as she went. She made Sunny proud. He was happy, satisfied. What bad could happen? •
Crow grabbed onto the hook and lowered herself down into the daycare. She didn't even pay mind to the dried blood on the softened, colorful grounds as she walked over to her brother. "Good morning, Sunny~!" She said and bent down to look into his eyes. Sun folded his arms behind his back with a calm smile. "Ah~. Right on time. Could you clean up this mess for me, Crow? A parent was causing some problems." He said it in that unnervingly calm tone. Without a question, Crow took the mop from him and started scrubbing the red stains from the ground. "And who was this new animatronic that showed up last night?" She asked. She heard her brother and someone else talking yesterday. Yes, she was eavesdropping, but oh well. "Ah that? Really no one. Just a moon from another dimension. Stole his data for some information." Sun said with a half shrug like it'd be the most normal thing on earth. Honestly, it was. He always stole Moons' data and knowledge to make himself more intelligent. Crow nodded curtly, then shoved the mop into her brother's hands with a grin. "And how's our moon doing?" She asked through gritted teeth. Sun grabbed the mop and faked a sigh. "He's getting more and more submissive." He said it with a slight chuckle. "Now how about you go check on Monty while I'll open the daycare for today? I'm sure that gator had found something by now."

Crow walked through the Plex in silence. She hated Montgomery. That stupid gator. But Sun wanted her to see him, so she will, and end of story. She'd rather hide corpses—hell, even kill herself—than see that overgrown lizard. But it's as it is. She silently walked into the animatronic's room, looking around for the gator, but when she couldn't find her, she decided to just take the dark matter. But it was missing too. She knew her brother was planning something. Dark matter is a powerful source, easily shapeable. It could take any form and contain everything the user wants it to. Imagination is the only border. "Montgomery? Don't hide. Come on oooouuut~!" Crow said in a sing-song tone. If he doesn't come out, she'll get to torture him. Oh, she loved the idea of that. "No? Well... I'm sure Sunny won't mind if I'll put you in your place this time." So she looked around in the Superstar's room. Under the bed, behind the machine, but nothing. Grumbling, Crow opened the door to the backrooms and froze in the door. She smiled and chuckled. "Well, I guess I won't get anything from you, will I now?" She said, staring at the ruined animatronic. Monty was mangled, ripped apart, and broken. His eyes were ripped out, the paint scratched off of his torso, his hair ripped out, his teeth broken. She stepped over the mix of cables that lay on the ground and squatted down beside the animatronic. "Hm. Useless." She muttered then walked back to the door, leaving one more glance at the thorn animatronic. "Agh, Sun won't be happy about this..." She grumbled, then wiped around and slammed the door shut behind her. Humming, she went back to the daycare, walking through the large glowing halls of the Pizza Plex, not giving a mind to the S.T.A.F.F. bots around. She was in an eerily cheerful mode for one singly reason. That one animatronic she hated so much, that one who ripped off her arm was... Gone. Just gone. Of course, not that she wasn't just a bit jealous, it wasn't her doing. Someone else had beef with the gator that's for sure. She walked through the empty arcade in silence. Honestly, she loved the arcade most in this times. In the early morning before the Plex would open. The machines shut down, no loud children. Just she, her and the machines. Well... Except one more little– big detail. The DJ music man. That huge spider? Yeah spider. That's what he's supposed to be. "Crow~! Long time no see wasn't it?" The singing voice spoke. Crow froze and glitched. She silently turned around and glared up at the animatronic, but forced a smile onto her face. "MM, hi." She said and crossed four of her arms behind her back. "I'm really in a hurry so if you don't mind I'd–" but it was too late now. "Oh nonsense nonsense I'm sure Sunset wouldn't mind if you'd stay here for a bit. Right?" He said singing and fixed the headset on his head. "... Right." Crow muttered. And so she listened to... Thousands kinds of gossip. But finally when Freddy showed up she slipped away. With a grumpy expression she wakes through the halls and down the stairs to the Daycare.

"Knock knock." Crow said, and without a second thought, she went into her brother's room. "What-Oh Crow... I'm sorry, where's the dark matter?" Sun said in a slightly annoyed tone. "Oh brother, you won't believe this; that pesky gator got himself killed." Crow spoke in a sing-song tone as she hoped over to her brother, flicking his rays. Sun shoved her hands away, clearly not wanting her to do so. "What happened—Oh, what was I expecting from that stupid—" he cut off mid-sentence and looked over at his sister with a slight smile. "Crow Moon, dear sister. I have something for you." He said then took off a chain from his desk. It was a thin black chain with a purple crystal on it's end. "A- A wither shard? B-but Sunny these—" Crow started but to no avail as Sun already cut her off. "No, no. You're worth it. Now come here." He said and put it around her neck. "A gift. From me, to you." He said kindly, yet his eyes held something else in them. Of course Crow didn't pay mind to that. "Thank you, Sunny." She muttered staring at the wither shard as it's low pinkish glow colored her fingers in which she held it, close to her masked face. It was so beautiful. She couldn't understand why he would even give something like this to her. He was collecting these shards for ages now, just like the dark matter. "Would you mind one more favor?" Sun's voice broke her out of her thoughts. Of course he knew he didn't have to ask. She'll do it without question. So loyal and easy to manipulate... "Why don't you go through the portal and grab me some dark matter?" And of course, without question, Crow nodded. "And just how am I supposed to do that? I thought dark matter isn't safe to touch." She said. "Oh? You don't know? Crow you're built to be able to take it. You think I really just fixed you up back then? No, no, no."
• Crow lay on the desk in Parts & Service, staring up at the blinding lights that caused her HUD to flick warningly, wanting her to close her eyes and save her optics. Well, whatever that's remained of them. She couldn't reach the memories of the incident, the files locked away behind a firewall her motherboard created to protect her from the past. But she remembered flickers of it. Small bites of the accident. His sharp teeth as they ripped of her arm. The sharp claws as they dug through her exoskeleton. As he ripped out her wires for something that wasn't even under her control. For something she didn't do. Or maybe she did she couldn't remember. "Hey... Hey calm down. It's okay." A familiar voice spoke. "S-s-su-u-un-ny?" Her voice box was broken. She barely understood herself. It was so disgusting. She couldn't imagine how she looked like. "Shush. I'll fix you. Don't worry. And I'll talk to that filthy gator after. •
"… What...?" That's all Crow could say as she stared at her brother in silence. "Oh don't be like that. Just small trinkets. I simply made your body out of a material that could contain dark matter, star power, negative star power everything you can think about. Well know about. Now how about you pick up your jaw and go get revenge on Monty? I'm sure you'd love to have some fun after what he did. I don't need him anymore." Crow didn't answer her brother. She just left the daycare. She honestly didn't feel like "having fun" with whatever that remained of Monty. She just cleaned up the parts. She didn't know why. It would have been so much fun to tear whatever's left into nothing, but she couldn't. She just didn't feel like it. When she entered it was already packed with kids. Pesky little gremlins. Loud bastards. She hated them. Instead she just hooked the wire into her back and flung up, sitting on top of the jungle gym, staring down at her brother as he played with the children. She honestly didn't understand how he managed with those monsters. How he was so patient and calm. Well except for when he wasn't and he let her punish them, or took matter in his own hands. Now that was something she loved doing or watching. She liked those screams. How the kids screamed in pain. But Moon didn't. He always tried to stop Sun. Well heh, tried to stop him. Just tried. Did, not anymore. Now he was submissive. Yeah, it was a looooong way to get here, but details. Who cares about details? The creator didn't know what happened and it was good until he didn't. Crow met him once, only once. She tortured him 'til he begged for death, which as Sun asked, she didn't give him, just left. It was a fun memory to think back to. How pathetic the over powerful man could be. How pitifully he begged for death from his own creation. But most important, Sun was pleased.
And that's how she got here. In another dimension, backed up into a corner by two other animatronics. One lunar and one solar animatronic. She visited countless dimensions and collected a big amount of matter for her brother, yet this was the first one where she actually met someone from there. Not only met but got cornered up, she was trapped.
"Who are you?" The lunar animatronic spoke up quietly.
Chapter 2: The separation (part 1)
Notes:
Soo- We went back in time a bit. Sorry it took so long I just couldn't form sentences and now I have too many ideas.
Chapter Text
With a pleased click of his tongue, the solar animatronic looked around the clean Daycare. It was finally clean. "You done?", He heard Moon's question in his head. Ugh. He could never get rid of him. But he'll manage. Eventually he'll manage. For now he'll just... Keep the lights on and his annoying counterpart far far away from him. He hated it when the lunar part of him made comments or tried to control him. There was no more blood left. No corpses. Why'd he care then? Wasn't that what mattered? Sun shook his head to get the thoughts and his annoying brother away and instead, he decided to go look for Crow. They got their sister a week ago. Actually six days and twenty-one hours ago. He liked her. He liked her way more than he liked Moon. Why? Because she was easy to manipulate. She had no purpose, nor her own thoughts. Well she did, but she was so easy to use, so easy to convince. So he left the Daycare and walked down the halls. He walked and walked and walked. He couldn't find her anywhere. She wasn't in the Theatre so he'd have to go look in the rest of the Plex. He hated the Glam Rocks. They were so annoying and selfish, mistaking arrogance for bravery. But he'll show them one day. He'll show them all. Because one they he will get out of here and he will destroy his Moon. He just needed to find Crow. Damn it, why did she run off again? She disappeared all the time. She just got turned on and is already off somewhere. But that's fine. She's still naive and easy to manipulate. Putting all her trust into Sun because he was the only thing she knew and he perfectly used that. Her. Everything and everyone. This was just a little game for him. Ah he just remember where she is, she's down at Parts and Service, building separate bodies for him and Moon. He couldn't do it because Moon wouldn't let him, Moon wouldn't do it because he never wanted to get separated, but Crow? Crow couldn't care less. That's the good part of having a new delusional animatronic. And so, he went down the stage elevator.
"Hello, Crow. How are we doing?" Sun said in a kind tone, walking over to his sister, looking at the monitor in front of her.
"Hey, Sunny... I'm doing good... Great actually." Crow said, not looking up from her work. "I just need to fix the original programs of you two and start separating your code... You're sure Moon is fine with this?"
"Why, of course he is!" Sun said clasping his hands together. "Actually it was his idea to separately in the first place. I never told you? Well now you know." He chuckled happily and glanced into the room where two endo-skeletons lay, unmoving. He still remembered how Crow Moon lay in there before she was activated. How him and Moon were still friends back then. But then Moon got this damned virus, which caused him to go insane. Of course they almost instantly fixed him. They said Sun changed because he was affected by the virus but that's not true. He changed because he wanted to. Because he broke that weak program causing him to like Moon. To like children. To like cleaning. Well he still liked cleaning, sometimes when it was really necessary and Moon couldn't do it.
• Dark Sun looked at his new work partner through the glass. He knew they'll get a sister because they didn't really manage with the Daycare on their own, the kids where to loud and chaotic, but Sun and Moon liked it. They really did. They straight up loved the children, no matter how much of a mess they created or how much of a nuisance they were, they still loved them, the small gifts they gave them, the two kept all of them. The nice words the children said or called them. How happy they were to meet them again, and how sad to leave them for the rest of the afternoon when they Daycare closed. "What do you think, Moon?" He thought, and heard his counterpart answer. "I already like her. She'll be great help, especially if Micheal sneaks in again." They were brothers. Yes, chosen and not programmed to be, but they chose to be. They wanted to be family and they want Crow to be in the family too. It'd be great. Nothing could tear them apart. Right...? •
He chased those thoughts away. Not like he cared. Really? He didn't. Moon hurt him so much. He hurt Crow, he hurt the kids and everyone else. He's not his brother anymore, and about the kids...? Hurting kids... It's way more fun than he'd expect... But back to business. "How long will it take?" He asked, keeping his voice nonchalant but with that snark to it. "A day or two." Crow said and turned around in her chair to look at him. "I just need to finish the exoskeletons and then I'll be done." She informed, locking her optics onto her brother (brothers?). "And I also informed Fazbear's about it and they said it's okay if our father gets to say what to do for you." She added with a grumbled. Sun's gaze hardened a bit. "What did you say to him?" His eyes narrowed a bit, but his expression calmed soon as he got an idea. "I told him to piss off?" Crow muttered resting her faceplate on top the backrest of her chair. "Good good... And if he comes again, make sure to invite him over will you?" Sun said, folding his hands behind his back. "I have some things I'd love to talk to him about." He spoke his tone calm, not showing a hint of whatever intentions he had behind the 'kind' words. Either way, he really wanted to talk with his creator about some things right now.
Crow nodded then turned back to the computer. "I'll look for him for you, Sunny~. You just go back to the daycare." When she spoke, she had a grin on her face and Sun knew she'll do it the easy or the hard way. Good. As she should, exactly as she should. Oh if only Moon would be such an obedient puppy. Life would have been so much easier. But that's just life and that's what you've got to live with. Well... You got to live with unless if you find a way to pull the strings yourself.
So he pulled all the strings himself.
Crow Moon stared through the glass silently, watching the two shut down animatronics. She was never great at robotics but Sun thought her how to do it. After a few more moments of silent thoughts, she went over to the computer and started the process. Soon, Sun woke up. She saw the satisfied expression on his face. Good, so she did well. She looked over at the lunar animatronic. He didn't move. He didn't power on. He didn't work...
"Crow! Isn't it great? We can be own person now." Sun spoke and left the small room, going over to her. "Oh no... Moony didn't wake up..." She felt her brothers hand on her shoulder. She heard the sadness in his voice... But from the side of her optics she saw that grin and his face. No matter how much he was trying to hide it. So she didn't mess up. She did good. It was the original idea not to have Moon free. Now Crow understood what Sun meant when he said that.
• "You know... I've spoken to Moon. He's been acting off lately. Being a nuisance to me. Us. Everything. He even said he doesn't want to separate anymore. It's a shame, but his choice. If he never wanted to be free, let him be my guest." He crossed his arms with a small smile, looking at Crow while she picked up the last few remains of that... Child. Care to know what happened? Well... The child startled Crow Moon. Crow didn't have safety protocols like they did and that's one other reason for why Sun loved her so much. Nothing could stop her from doing things a child friendly animatronic... Well... Shouldn't do. The little boy, he was five years old, his name was Eden, he was a clutz. A terrible clutz. What did he do this time? His older brother gave him a laser gun, what's it called? A fazblaster. Well, Eden being the small little boy he is, took it to the Daycare to show it off to other kids, like anyone else would do. But you see, while playing he dropped it. Something triggered the blaster and shot Crow who was cleaning up some mess, right in the optics. It startled her. It scared her. Of course both were just an accident. Crow never meant to hurt the boy. But it's over now. Sun was utterly pleased. "So you'll just leave him in this body?" She muttered, wiping the blood from her hands, all four of them. "Leave him in this body? To be free on his own? Hah, no." •
"Crow, how about you go back to the Daycare? Watch over the kids for a tad bit." Sun said and was already pushing her out of Parts and Service. Before she could have answered, the big red doors shut in front of her.
"Tsk, tsk, tsk... See? That's what I want. That's how I want you to be." Sun said and pushing a button powered on his counterpart. Their old body powered on, the optics lit up. "But you never listen. I thought we could have been brothers." Sun continued with an evil grin on his face. "However, I realized you're just Moon. Just like all of the other ones. Useless, creepy, annoying but clever. Very clever. With no shame I admit you are smarter than me. See, you could have helped. But no. You went after your own head." Sun chuckled, waiting for him to say something. To beg like the pitiful dog he is. But he didn't. Moon silently took the insults. "Oh say something already." Sun said in a tad annoyed tone his smirk hardening. "Or what, too scared?" He said his smile turning into a grin. "Scared? Of you?" Moon snarled then scoffed. "After my dead body. You know what I'm scared for? Crow and whatever sick thing you have in mind for her. Leave her out of this. Please..." Moon said. So he did beg. Good, good. "Crow?" Sun straightened up and put a hand onto his chin, as if in thought. "No. She's too easy to use. Too naive. I won't hurt her. Let's say, I need her for a bit longer. Unlike you." He spoke, never once breaking eye contact, visibly showing his upper hand. Not like Moon wouldn't have known about it for a long time. "Sunny she's not in this... It's you and me but-" Moon pleaded, but before he could even think about finishing his sentence, his eyes darkened as he shut down.
Sun pulled his hand away from the computer and looked at the offline animatronic for a few more moments, before speaking up. "Goodbye, brother." His voice was low, almost vulnerable. Almost. Only almost. That wicked grin on his face gave it away. He didn't feel bad for his brother. Well... Didn't want to feel bad. When he realized his smile was turning downward he shook his head and left the room, forcing his rays to come out.
• • •
"Crow?" Sun called out when he reached the Daycare. He shut the big door behind himself, waiting for an answer. She didn't answer. "… Crow?!" He called out one more time, turning towards the Daycare. "Crow Moon?!" When there was nothing the third time he started to get worried. He didn't want to get worried. He didn't care. Well, he didn't want to care. He learned not to care. But he couldn't help himself... He just... He needed to make sure she's fine. He checked every corner, looked through every small hole, every small hide out, everywhere, he looked everywhere. Maybe she didn't come back yet? So he left the Daycare. He looked everywhere. "Croooooow?" He called out, holding his hands to his mouth to sound louder. "Where are yooouuu?" He called while walking through the large halls. "Croo- ooow...?" He froze, staring at the liquid in front of his feet. He almost stepped into it. "Eugh-... Someone got into a gutter..." He muttered and squatted down, looking at the black oil on the carpet. "Huh..." He raised his faceplate and his rays retracted into his head. "... Crow...?" The sight in front of him... It shocked him more than whatever he saw. More than anything before.
Crow Moon lay there, well whatever that was left of her did. Her body mangled, limbs tore, scratches all over the lighter and darker purple colours. Her faceplate ruined. He couldn't stomach this sight. He slowly walked over to the animatronic silently, staring down at her. Her wires were sticking out and her lower right arm was gone. Ripped off by whoever did this. Oh if he'll find out who did this he'll- "S-S-S-Su-un-?" The crackling of her voice box caught him out of his thoughts. She was still online- Oh thank God she didn't have pain processors. She didn't deserve it. It wasn't how he thought. He didn't feel pity, no. He actually felt sympathy. Oh well... He needed to help her. He really felt like he needed. He was his sister after all. He lost his brother already- No Moon was never his brother. Was he...?
|• "Moony, Moony you won't believe what happened! Little Ellie came back today! She wasn't angry with me anymore! She was so happy to see us again! I didn't even have to apologize to her for knocking her over!" Sun cheered, speaking to himself, packing away the toys. "Yes, yes, Sunny... I heard, I saw. I'm happy for you." Sun heard his brothers voice. "Still it makes me so happy!" Yes. It made him happier than anything. "They always calm down for Naptime, Sunny... Of course she didn't remember." Moon's voice spoke calmly. "They always do."
. . .
"Sunny? Sunny are you listening to me?" Moon muttered calmly, his legs stopped swaying as he sat on the small round terrace of their room, looking down at the Sun plushie in his hands. "You said something, Moony?" Sun's voice finally sounded. It hurt. It hurt so much more than Moon ever felt before. "Heh... No Sunny. It doesn't matter." He said in a soft voice and dropped the plushie. It was like this for a long time now. For what? Why? What happened? Moon just didn't understand. He hated himself for it. He was sure he messed up something with his brother and that's why Sun won't talk to him anymore. "Sunny?" Moon spoke. "… Sundrop…?" When his brother didn't answer he gave up. He just stared at the closed Daycare. Sun hated him now. Sun hated him. He didn't even know what he did! He must have done something! He must have done something and just not remember. There had to be something. "Sunny...? Hey, you remember little Ellie? I'm sure she'd play with you again." Moon said, hoping it would somewhat cheer his brother. Finally, he got an answer. Not one that Moon wanted, definietly not the answer he wanted. Moon didn't answer what his brother said, he just looked back out into the shut down Daycare. No kids came for some time now. How long excactly? Ah yes... A month or so."No, Moony. Ellie wouldn't play with me." Sun's cold voice sounded in the back of his head. Moon dreided the next words, but they sounded anyway. He knew his brother didn't want to do it, but there was no choice. It wasn't his choice. He wasn't himself. But really, it didn't matter now. After all...
"She's dead."
