No idea for the title here (but got an idea for the chapters names ^^)

Summary:

So I read an amazing fic from marydreamy and commented this :

Momo and Kaminari suffered the most emotionally than Jirou (even if it is a chock to loose a part of herself it is something she will be able to live with) since they both had to be spectator most of the time while the fight was happening above their heads and without being able to give their all since they were worn out from the maintainance of the 'ile' and the Twices attack. AND DON'T GET ME STARTED OVER THE HAVING TO LEAVE WHILE THEIR MENTORS ARE BEING KILLED BY DESTRUCTION QUIRK SHIGA THE BUTTERFLY. (Midnight's death must have been a toll on Momo and since she is "1-A's Vice-Rep" she would probably try to train harder to get Emo Izuku back and then the war and post war I picture her having everything coming at her at once and her breaking down alone but Jirou hears her while testing her only available jack and shit if I don't find a fic like that after getting my license I'll write it myself !)

Chapter 1: when you gotta smile

Kaminari has always been smiling, he always was the optimist, the kid who wants it all, the fun guy that despite his bad grades always found a way to pass the year, the dramatic boy who always cries at the dumbest scenes of every single movie... When he decided to enter UA and understood the assignment he couldn't be happier either when he grilled more than half of the robots presents (his brain too but whatever). His plan was easy, become a hero and have it all : girls, fame and money. He never expected his homeroom teacher to be an underground hero ready to expel every single student of a classroom. He didn't expect Endeavor's kid to be in the same class as him. He didn't expect to have Ingenium's brother in his class neither... He though for a moment that he was fucked, but then he befriended Bakugo and Kirishima, and then Ashido because she was easy to approach, then it was Sero, he even befriended Mineta over their common plans to get sexy girls (he soon understood that Mineta's ways were far too immorals for him to follow). At some point, after the USJ incident, he became best buddies with the mysterious Jirou and understood that the princess Yaoyorozu wasn't heartless but someone that could be befriended easily (he still doesn't trust that someone can be this wealthy and this nice so he keeps reasonable distance between them). He finds himself being happier in this class full of traumatized kids than anywhere else he could think of. So he smiles... a lot.

Camp seemed nice on the paper, it was a secluded environment where they would be able to fully train their quirks. Even if he does have to take complementary class with Mina and the other since his scores weren't that high. Even if he was tired 80% of the time because he is unable to sleep a full night. Even if the night of the attack he was in a classroom, relatively safe while his friends were outside fighting for their lives. Even if in the end Midoriya, Yaoyorozu, Jirou, Hagakure and Aizawa-sensei were hospitalised. Even if Bakugo got captured. Even if Jirou was still incounscious. He still smiled because they made it out alive he was useless and Bakugo was freed later Midoriya and Yaoyorozu helped more even when they were badly injured and he did nothing so everything was okay and school could be back to normal ! He haven't done anything to help Bakugo even if he is his friend So they now will live in the dorms ! It's great ! He will have to face them days and nights He is happy to show off his room nobody was impressed and to discover Jirou's room she is so much more talented than him and Ojiro's why can't he be normal like him? and Momo's do not laugh do not laugh do not laugh and finally at the end of the day he went to bed maybe, just maybe he feels better about himself.

Lot have happened. During the license exam Jirou and Yaoyorozu got hurt but not too badly why does he care? and Bakugo and Todoroki failed to get theirs. Denki is happy he was useful he got to save Bakugo and Kirishima unlike when he was unable to protect Momo and Kyouka. He may have a crush on them, both of them. He learned that M-Yaoyorozu wasn't playing anyone and was just truly nice and forgiving too much for her own good and that she was way to loving and innocent for someone living in the same dorm as Mineta. He learned that Kyoka was the nicest when you learn to know her and he started to think that maybe, just maybe he had a chance when they started to hang out, the three of them mostly to tutor him because he is unable to learn and he loved that. So yeah, he may have a shot... It has been a while now since he had this idea, he tried multiple times to ask them out, both of them at one, but he is not worthy he didn't find the strengh nor the courage to do so.

They were in the middle of a study session when Kyouka beat him at confession game.Like seriously, she just went for it all-in.

"Hum.. Guys, I got a question but it can sound a bit ridiculous..." she asked, at first they didn't understand.

Yaoyo- Yaomomo rose her eyes to look and smile at Kyouka he wants her to smile at him like that

"Yes Jirou-san? What is it? You can ask anything there is no such things as ridiculous questions.", rich coming from the girl unable to ask anyone else for help you got it? 

"Well... I think that I got a major crush on you.. both of you...", at this state Denki couldn't stop his grin, not because of the confession partially because of the confession but because of Yaomomo's frown.

"What do you mean by that?", he had to contain his laugh but it was so hard, between Kyouka's redness and Momo's lack of certain vocabulary

"Pfft-, sorry it is not against you.. It is just too cute.. Pfffffwahahahahaha !", Denki burst of laughter while Jirou hits him playfully with her fists and Momo looks at them, not understanding.

"It! Is! Not! Funny! At! All! Dumbass!", Jirou punches Denki at the end of each word without any real conviction

"I-I am truly sorry Jirou-san if I didn't understand what you were talking about... I truly am.. Maybe if you explain me what 'crush' means I could", Denki interrupts he wants to tease them.

"She says that she is romantically attracted to us", the understanding illuminates Momo's face and she says, smiling

"I see, in that case i can confidently say that the feeling is mutual.", Denki stops a second before asking

"And me ? What about me ? Do you like me ? Like romantically ?", he was smiling again he was pathetic.

"Of course, I do love you too.", Kyouka falls from her chair, startling both Momo and Denki why is he so easy to startle?.

"How is it that you are saying it this easily, it took me a week before I gathered the courage to ask you out!"

There are loads of good parts at having girlfriends, worry certainly wasn't one of them. It was the first raid and Denki was going toward the hospital he was letting Momo and Kyouka down because he was the only one able to take the charge of the electric villain he is worried about his girlfriends but for once he can be useful so he takes it, he gathered the courage thanks to Kyouka and Momo and maybe Nemuri's speech but later he learns that the giant stupidly strong monster is going toward them, then he hears via his headset that Momo has carte blanche upon the following events and he knows her. She will certainly choose to fight to gain the pros some time she is not a coward like him. When she took her decision, Denki has managed to join them, seeing them gave him the strength to go on with the fighting.

He got hurt. Badly. Well of course a rock a rock? part of a building? falling over you while you are in the air couldn't do anything else but hurt but what hurts Denki the most is how Momo is taking care of everything even his mistakes if he hadn't let himself be hit and crushed and Midoriya left and Midnight is dead. He thinks again about every single thing that happened during the last month. He had been useless.

They got Midoriya back, that's great he'll be better than him to fight villains and despite his need to cry alone he smiles and cheer everyone up. He looks at everyone they are better than him and decides that he will do everything in his power to stop the league of villains to destroy everything he already is nothing and moreover he will protect the people he loves!

He is alive... Kyouka is alive... Momo is alive... Well Kyouka is missing an ear and Momo is force fed while unconscious because of quirk overuse. He himself is going to scar from his numerous cuts on his skin due to all the Toga/Twice coming from the portal non-stop while Izuku was fighting Shigaraki.

They finally are heroes, Denki still is insecure, he still is useless but he is a hero now so more than ever he gotta smile.

Chapter 2: when you can not break

Chapter Text

Momo has always been the stable one. Always following the rules. Always being serious. Always smiling. Always helping. Always. Always. Always.

Since she was little, she learned to please others before herself. It is normal she told herself I owe them a lot she was the child that her mother kept in her body for nine whole months ! I must not be a burden . She was diagnosed quirkless… She was five, she couldn’t know should have known. She must be perfect. She studied. Hard. Hard enough. When she started to study chemistry she told herself that it was really not what she liked. She forced herself. When she saw something, an object, a material… She told herself Water… H2O… Iron… Fe… No… Wait… Is it iron ? She would think of it non-stop. It became automatic. One day she broke a glass, she didn’t know from where it came, there was water too. She was eight, she woke up in the middle of the night feeling like she could drink the ocean. She drank one, two, three glasses… More water would be good right now… Was her thought. She drank and while her glass was in her hand, she heard one fall on the ground. She froze, she panicked when more fell on the ground. She screamed and the sound of precipitated steps where the last thing she remembered from that night. The next thing she knew, she was in the hospital. Oh… I weighted my parents again… I really am the worst… She looks around and sees her parents talking to a doctor they seem worried and… happy ? Momo tries to sit but as she starts to move hands put her back down on the bed. “You must rest Momo.” The authoritative voice of her father resonate in her mind. She looks up and sees her mother tearing up “I-” Momo flinches at how raspy her own voice sounds “I am sor-” she is cut by her mother “You do have a quirk !” Momo is shocked I have a quirk ? I have a quirk !? . This was the best days Momo ever lived. She wasn’t such a disappointment after all.

She has friends ! Actual genuine friends. Momo still hates studying but when she scores high her parents are pleased and the more she knows, the more she can give, either by creating something or by tutoring her friends. Maybe she isn’t useless but again if she was good enough she would have been class president instead of Iida when Midoriya gave up his post . She trained hard but it was pretty obvious that the favorites of the class were Shoto, Bakugo and Midoriya. She doesn’t deserve any kind of attention . She feels like she doesn’t go forward, it always takes too long to make something big, she always is too slow to counter-attack, she can not do a good plan fast enough, she isn’t good enough for anyone to count on her. Even if a lot of people seem to treat her as gifted, she doesn’t get why tho, she is just a weakling since she hasn't made an impact yet.

She has a girlfriend and a boyfriend. They help her a lot with her confidence issues she is burdening them and she helps them with everything else. It is hard to understand why physical contact doesn’t seem so foreign, why it is so okay when it is them. She never liked it but now it is different with them. She is craving their touch in a way she used to crave her mother’s love. She must be better for them. She must not be the reason they go backward. She must learn more to help them.

She cried. A lot. She is such a disappointment. She failed. She failed. They were counting on her. She is the reason they… She should have done something. She should have planned a plan B. She should have made more traps. She should have thought more through the presence of the League of Villain on its back. She should have understood that Nemuri-sensei was in danger. She shouldn't have allowed Majestic to throw them away. She should have stayed back. They are dead now. She should have done better… She should stop now. Kirishima and Mina are sad too, she must help them recover. She will be okay. She will be okay. She must be stronger.

Midoriya left. She must be the adult in this situation and plan. She must recover him with everyone. She can not break now. She will do it later . She still has time .

They got him back. He found out that Aoyama was the traitor and that Tooru was in danger without even trying. He exists to be under the spotlight. She exists to be overlooked. She must just accept it. She will never be at his level of heroism.

She is important. Her part in this is important. She shouldn’t be upset but again, why were they broadcasting live the fights in the isle ? She is a hero and she could have been just as  useful as anyone on the main fiel, she just wastes her resources in the isle. Maybe it is because she is such a disappointment, they don’t need her . She sees Kyouka giving her all, losing her jack, Shoto burning his brother alive, his mother, his sister, his brother joining the fight they are civilians and yet so much more useful than her then Bakugou got hurt, Mirko too. She was only watching, knowing that she could have helped. She should have helped . Then the Twices started to flow and to crush them, she used all she had to keep them away from the others. The isle fell and Gentle saved everyone from a crash that would have cost them their lives. She watched. Then Aizawa called for backup, it was time to end everything. She watched. Kaminari overloaded but still accompanied her to fight along Midoriya. She watched. They were there for him when he needed it. She watched. He delivered the final blow. She watched. Then… She doesn’t know. She woke up in the hospital. Oh, I was a burden again… She saw Kyouka and Kaminari on the side, they are sleeping, they are peaceful. She smiles.

Momo is bright. She always falls on her feets ready to climb again. She is so smart…

No, scratch that, she is a mess. She is restless but still acts so energetic. This day was pretty hard, she is still top in academics but she can’t take it anymore. She falls in her bed clothes on and skips dinner, she can’t do it anymore. She made sure that everyone heals approximately from the trauma but now, maybe now she can allow herself to break, far from everyone, alone, she will not be a burden that way. She will just be a little better afterward… She can be pretty easily. She is… pretty good… at… acting… “ Momo ! Momo ! Wake up ! “ Momo opens her eyes, she sees Kyouka after wiping her eyes a bit. She doesn’t understand why Kyouka seems so panicked but then she notices the wetness on her hand, her cheeks, he pillow, how trashed is her bed and how sweaty she is, her clothes clinging on her. She tries to muster up a smile to play it off, blame it on the room température or on a bad dream but before she can open her mouth she feels Kyouka’s arms wrapping her and before she can think of apologizing Kyouka squeezes her and they fall on the bed, Kouya on top of her, before she can register anything else, she feels numerous sobs coming up her throat. Momo buries her face in Kyouka’s shoulder and cries, she allows herself to crumble to pieces, to be weak, to be a normal traumatized teenager. It is the first real night of sleep she got since the hospital they putted her under sleep pills so that she rests and tomorrow, she will be okay again because she is the class vice president and she can not break .
