Chapter Text
Green laughed as he and Purple strolled along the sidewalk, Purple reading the shopping list.
King had allowed them to go by themselves, seeing as not just two people lived in the house anymore. Chosen wasn't exactly living , per se, but he did drop by every other day or so.
And having four people living out on the groceries thats supposed last a week for two people, doesn't quite last a week.
Ergo why Green and Pruple were out shopping on a workday, when they were the only ones at home with a fridge that had a pack of sliced cheese, a few slices of bread and an expired jar of mayonnaise. Oh, and the chicken they ordered for take out last night, but thats not enough.
Thank goodness King had a good pay.
“So.. I think the Cavern should be here..?” Green led her across the streets, looking for a lamp post with a batman sticker. That was his mark point. Most of the city confused him, so locating the Twin’s shop while coming from a whole other direction turned him around entirely.
Purple, fortunately, didn't have that issue and led him straight to it.
“We just need the cans from there now, maybe a few bags of junk if we want. I have my pocket money.” she said, patting her pocket.
Green chuckled. “Or maybe we get lucky and win a game, so we get it all for free.”
“Hopefully, but that's a pipe dream. Those two are far too good at what they do.”
Purple’s Mom loved the little corner shop, back then, and took her to it whenever she could. Even after her Mom died, she just kept visiting, playing against both the enthusiastic shopkeepers.
Never did she win a single game. In fact, Purple’s convinced that everything’s rigged, that nobody can actually get a win against them. Uno, go fish, Monopoly, old maid, jenga, macala, chess, battleships, snake and ladders, ludo-
There was so much Purple learned from them. The best way to collect your hands for gin was to pick from what your opponent drops. An easy win on jenga was to play it simple and no risks. Monopoly wins come from convincing others its a profitable deal and pure luck. Old maid was plain reverse psychology. Go fish requires keeping tabs on who has what. Connect four is provoking your competitor to make mistakes and overlook details.
All things Purple found more useful than Navy’s constant ‘practice and get better.’
Green was overly jittery today, flinging open the door energetically, making the bell jangle about. “Guys! Hey!”
Rock was at the counter and glanced up at them. “Hey Green! And Purple, welcome back! Its been a while. How are you holding up?”
Purple nodded respectfully, smoothening the creases off his tie-dye shirt. “Good, thanks.”
Green immediately walked over to start a game and chat, while Purple beelined for the shelves, reaching for the baked beans. Chosen can suffer his dislike of them for while.
Purple inspected several cans, taking care to chose ones with a longer expiry date. She then picked a few fruits, then moved on to the counter, grabbing two bags of crisps for them to snack on.
Green was in a heated match of battleships, and losing spectacularly as well. “No, my mini ship!”
“So this is where he’s been going huh?” She asked Rock as he scanned the food. “Playing here with you guys. Cant blame him, its a nice place to be when you’re in a rut.”
“Oh yeah, we try to keep things calm up at the front.” He gave Purple a wink. She blinked, confused.
“...okay?”
A.J. laughed, crisp and clear. “B2?”
Purple groaned in tandem to Green.
There wentthe hopes of having a free shopping withering away instantly.
“...I’m sunk.”
Purple pulled out her cash, cat wallet considerably less inflated than when they first started out of the house.
“You're improving Green. I almost lost back there!”
“But I still! Lost!”
Green meant it in all good fun, however, as Purple can see the joyous mirth in his eye. He stretched as he stood up. “Now lets go.”
“Aww… not coming to see our basement?” Rock smirked as A.J.elbowed him, placing the game on the shelf in little game room they had behind the counter. To Purple, it felt like a walk in cupboard.
Purple shot a conufused and disturbed look at them.
Green chuckled nervously. “Guys… I havent exactly told her yet. About any of it.”
That made Rock pause in his tracks, but then grinned wider. “Then lets show her now!”
Purple just stood there. Tell her what? What were they doing? What the heck did Green get up to when Purple wasnt looking? Should she be worried? Was it bad? ‘Cause if it went any further than ‘the Singularity’ incident on the scale of possible doom, she's having none of it. ‘Chosen one’ and ‘Nether King,’ Purple can handle, but utter destruction? Nuh uh.
Green patted her back as the twins led them into the back of the Game room, and to a little minecraft trapdoor under a box.
Just like the one King has.
…..Green had better not be in his ‘King phase’.
Seeing the room, Purple had to use every ounce of her self restraint to not facepalm.
…Green was in his ‘King phase.’
She stepped down into a quartz room with two portals, one just a plain simple nether portal with the needed mechanisms to bring them to the Outernet, the other with even more mechanisms to do… whatever it did. There was a pinboard on one wall, completely heaving with notes and a picture. A door leaving to a different room on the other wall, completely made with barrier blocks and crying obsidian.
It was rather impressive, better than Kings basement. And much bigger and organized.
9/10 on the disguised villain base she supposed. Villain base, since even if Green was doing something good here, he would bargain for something. Green was nothing if not a negotiator.
And considering what was angering him these days….
She could do this in two ways: Direct confrontation, or loyal sidekick like he’s gonna ask her to be.
The direct confrontation’s going to make her a target if it goes wrong, so it was safer to play fool and get Green to tell the details himself. If she made it that she knew too much too soon…
Purple rounded onto Green with a shocked face. “What is all this?! Green, if you’re gonna destroy minecraft-”
“No!” Green waved his hand infront of him. “Nothing like that! See, theres this thing called Bob lose in minecraft and causing havoc everywhere. So uh.. We're trying to catch it.”
Purple raised an eyebrow. “Aaand…nothing else?”
Green stuttered. Purple put her face closer to Green’s accusingly.
“Okay… so maybe I have some revenge planned for the colourgang?”
Purple facepalmed.
Are you KIDDING-
“Green… did you lose your mind?” She prodded his forehead at her inquiry. Green shook his head. “Are you serious?”
“Relax! I dont want to do anything too drastic. Just enough to scare them.” He put his hand on her shoulders, removing her from his personal space. “Thats the other place we need you. A good trap for Bob, and a not-so-destructive trap for the colors.”
Still sounded like an excuse to Purple.
“Im going to regret this…” Purple pinched the space between her brows. “But why ?”
“So… Bob was made by Orange, somehow got in minecraft and messed with everything and now he’s almost as powerful as the Icon. Orange is… very protective of him, to say the least, and the thought of me fighting his ‘child’ wasnt taken nicely back on the PC-”
“So you need to keep them all out of the way while you deal with this, just in case they DO find out…” She sighed, sitting cross-legged on a block.
“Which has a pretty high chance, considering he’s jumping through Minecraft universes as we speak to find me.”
“But again, why? Why me? King’s smarter, he could be more useful.”
Green snorted. “Be honest with me, do you think your dad would take ANOTHER Minecraft fiasco that easily? He’ll probably ground us!”
King would most definitely ground them.
“We’d help,” Rock shrugged from the pin board. “But we arent trap specialists. Ours is gameplay hacks and secrets. Sure we can make traps, but having an experienced person run it through is a better idea.”
Worst part is, Purple’s brains were already throwing out the ideas like cash, the little idea monster running the hamster wheel at sonic speed, no matter how much she denied it-
Green was right. Next to King, Purple was the most experienced on traps and such, making it the most logical route for them.
But that didnt mean she couldn't hate it.
“Alright,” She sighed. “What are we looking at?”
Entry 1
Parkour course: Rank- C (B if redesigned)
- Can use the old plans, but hide the command blocks and reinforce walls
- Creative and spectator mode need to be blocked for use of this course, otherwise ineffective.
- Use item frames to get the sky effect.
- Research more effective methods on creating a loop than beacons (Mods??)
