The Monster Hero: Hydra (MHA OC fic)

Chapter 1: Prologue

Summary:

Agochi finds his purpose, despite the issues he has with his quirk.

Notes:

This is my first fic I'm writing/uploading ever so bare with me if it is not the best. I had this idea and needed to get it out of my head.

Chapter Text

Quirks were a blessing or a curse depending on who you asked. In Agochi's case he considered his the latter. It was because of his quirk he hid his mouth behind a mask. It was because of his quirk no one wanted to be his friend. It was because of his quirk that he was always hungry.

Agochi had just turned seven, he sat alone on the swings while the other kids ran and played together. This was how it had been since his quirk came in. His quirk had caused his bottom jaw to split in two and for him to have worms in his belly. It was a very prominent mutation. The other kids called him a monster when he showed them his quirk when he got back to school. He had not expected them to react so poorly.

‘I'm not a monster though.’ he thought, swinging a bit.

His mother had a similar quirk to his so she helped him understand his new looks and powers better. She also wore a mask to hide her mouth and was the one that got him to understand the practice. Her quirk was a weaker version of his. Where he had multiple worms, she could only have one at a time.

He sat there watching the other kids play, wishing he could join but not wanting to be rejected again.

“Kick it over here, Danzo!” Screamed one boy With a fluffy tail.

Danzo, a boy with horns, kicked the ball way to hard and it landed on the roof of the supply shed. Agochi looked over at it.

“Aww, how are we supposed to get it down now?”

“Sorry Ken-kun, I kicked it to hard”

Agochi got up from the swing and walked toward the shed. He pulled down his mask and called up one of his worms. His jaw opened up and the worm grew and stretched out reaching up to the roof grabbing the ball in its mouth. He retracted the worm and took the ball from it before dismissing it back to his stomach.

Pulling up his mask he turned to the boys and held out the ball to them.

“Here you go, you can keep playing now.”

Ken walked up and took the ball. Agochi turned to walk back to his swing, when a hand grabbed his shoulder.

“Do you want to play too?” Danzo asked.

Stunned by the offer, Agochi just nodded. The three of them started kicking the ball around for a while, it was the first time anyone had offered to play with him and he was having the most fun he had in a while.

It was nice to have someone to play with for a change.

Agochi's quirk was a weird one, it gave him a bunch of pets essentially. Except the pets were in his body. The way it worked was he produced little eggs which could hatch and turn into worms. He could only have 10 worms at a time and he could change how the worms grew. He then could call up the worms from his stomach and control them, depending on how he grew them the level of control he had differed.

He had chosen to experiment recently and came up with what he liked to call soldiers. Worms that had a hard carapace on their fronts and were very obedient but they were very taxing to replicate, it took three days to train one of them so he only made four. He also made one worm that he would keep around and make as big and strong as possible, just to see what would happen. The rest were just basic worms.

Danzo and Ken thought his quirk was cool and helped him test out what the worms could do. They had found out they could eat just about anything and bite through metals. They were also very strong and could lift heavy weights without strain being placed on Agochi himself. They could also smell really well and sense vibrations, which in turn was passed to Agochi himself.

The boys had been leaving school one day when a villian attack started up. Two villians were robbing a store. The hero that was battling them drew Agochi's attention. He had a yellow suit and what looked like two eels coming out the back of his hands. His quirk was like Agochi's. That was so cool!

“Your quirk is like his Ago!” Yelled Ken.

“Yeah, except you have more worms! You could be an even better hero.” Said Danzo, Ken nodded enthusiastically.

Agochi had never thought about being a hero before, most people found his quirk creepy. Despite that here was a hero that had a quirk similar to his and was being cheered for by the crowd.

The hero subdued the villians and wrapped their eels around them. Soon the police showed up and took the villains into custody. With that done the hero turned to the crowd and started talking to them. He announced himself as Eel Boy.

Agochi made his way over and when he got the chance, he spoke to the hero when they were alone.

“Mr. Eel Boy my quirk is kinda like yours do you think I could be a hero too?” Agochi asked sheepishly.

“Well, let's see what you're working with, kid.” Said eel boy. Agochi pulled down his mask and called up three regular worms and two soldiers. His jaw opened wide to allow them all out. He was feeling extremely exposed most people found his mouth disgusting.

“Woah, you got a variety there, kid. Can you control all of them?” Asked the hero.

Agochi made all the worms look at the hero and nod at the same time. He the called them back into his mouth and closed it. He put his mask back on.

“I can have five out at a time and ten in total, I can affect how they grow to make them different.” He explained. “The bigger ones I call soldiers, because they are really easy to control and good for fighting.”

Eel boy nodded, and looked thoughtful for a moment.

“Kid I can say with quirk like yours, you could easily surpass most Pros, so go for it!” He said, giving Agochi a thumbs up.

“Thanks sir!” Agochi said bowing before running to join his friends.

After that day, Agochi had a new goal in mind. To be a hero!

When he got home he, excitedly told his mother his new goal and what had led up to his decision. She smiled at him from behind her mask.

"I know you will be a great hero, sweetie!" She said to him.

"You just need to nurture your quirk and body and there will be no obstacle you can't overcome."

Agochi went to bed that night thinking of all the ways he could make his worms better, so that he could be a strong hero.
