my friend told me my characterization of Radagon is like if The Weeknd music is a guy and i can't stop thinking about it.

anyway, as is with the other work in this series, this one is also a fanart collection that is not connected to each other (unless stated otherwise), but this one focuses more on romantic relationships.

Chapter 1: cream puffs (Radagon/Marika)

Base setting:

  • My Radagon and Marika are like Miquella and Trina, but in reverse. She divested him entirely during Liurnia campaign, but bound him to herself again after she shattered the Elden Ring.
  • Marika is the emotions, Kindness of Gold half, while Radagon is pure Order.
  • Once Radagon became Elden Lord, he started to slowly usurp Marika as the figurehead (seen from the difference in depiction of them in their statues and portraits)
  • Messmer - Godfrey - Godwyn were the three pillars of Marika's strength and influence within the Golden Order (the three biggest army forces in the Erdtree age belong to them)
  • Godfrey's exile, the dying out of ritual combat honouring the Erdtree (which was a showcase of strength and loyalty Godfrey and his Crucible Knights demonstrated to Marika), Messmer being sealed, Godwyn's death created a power vacuum that Radagon took advantage of.

And please note, even though I think Radagon is nuts, I view his actions as born out of love towards Marika, wanting to be a whole entity that could protect and take care of her - his better half. And Marika, despite hating what he had become, never forsake him. Her last act of bounding him together with her in one body again is not just to stop him from perpetuating the old Order, but also her taking responsibility for his actions and not leaving him behind.

Regression is the pull of meaning; that all things yearn eternally to converge.
