Day 23 – Surprise

Another Two Parter for you, it’s actually a lot of fun, writing the idea and then seeing if it’s going to extend.

Sidney and Charlotte are anticipating the joy or impending parenthood.

Chapter 1: An Anxious Papa

Sidney is on such a high

He’s going to be A Papa! 😍😍

Striving to ease Charlotte’s discomfort 

Dreaming of a daughter

With brown curls and dimpled chin

 

It’s Diana’s fault

She provides him with medical information 

Suddenly he is terrified

Constantly watching for danger

Charlotte bears it well

She gets a little grumpy 

Understandably with her expanding form

(Which Sidney adores)

 

Her confinement approaches 

The ladies have planned a distraction 

Sidney is whisked away

Returns home to see the Doctor’s Carriage

Aghast, he hurries upstairs 

Mrs Heywood is there

 

Go in, Sidney she smiles

 

Charlotte has a Surprise for you.

 

              

Chapter 2: Double Trouble

Here’s the follow-up.
Sidney finds out what the surprise is.

Charlotte is sitting up in bed

Radiant

 

Come, Papa!

 

She beckons him

 

He tiptoes closer

 

Surprise!

 

Cradled in her arms

Two bundles

👶👶  

 

Why are there two babies, Charlotte? he enquires

 

She rolls her eyes

🙄

 

We have Twins! A Son and Daughter. Mama and I suspected

We didn’t want to worry you

 

Sidney is thrilled. One of each

But then, he recalls the risks

His face pales

 

Thank Goodness you survived, he whispers, stroking the babies’ heads

 

His Wife winks at him

😉

 

Mama says twins might run concurrently in our family

 

There’s a bump

Her husband has crumpled to the floor
