Chapter Text
Suitcase hated everything, but she didn’t know why.
Well… she knew a little bit.
For one, her body hurt, her condition acting up in a way she couldn’t expect - even taking more meds wasn’t enough. Two, she had to walk, and she hated walking, it was stupid. And three, the buzzing in the back of her mind. The small, muffled white noise creeping up on her - and it burned, just a bit.
Not horribly, though.
Suitcase was currently following behind her fellow contestants. Lightbulb insisting there’s “someone in the woods,” they needed to see. Baseball and her were worried, while Knife seemed more uncomfortable than anything.
But the little case found herself growing bored.
She tried to keep up with the others, she really did - but the flowers were so pretty! She wanted to make a bo… a bo… whatever those flower things are called! Yeah…
She stopped in her tracks, her gaze fixed on a little yellow flower, it was smaller than all the other ones - but that was okay!
She dashed over to it, inspecting its petals before ripping it from the ground - holding it in her mouth and giggling. The object then squealed and began plucking more, running about. It felt freeing, the first time she’s felt this good in months, god, when was the last time she spent real time out—
“Suitcase? What are you doing?”
Baseball’s voice made her flinch, rattling her insides. She turned around cautiously, teeth gritting.
“Yeah?”
The trio stared at her, watching as a few loose flowed flew from her mouth. Baseball and Knife watched on curiously, puzzled. But something in Lightbulb’s face… understood. Maybe.
Either way, the suitcase was a silly sight, to say the least.
“Case-girl!” Lightbulb exclaimed, rushing over. “You can’t have those things in your mouth, ya’ goof.”
Suitcase giggled, letting Lightbulb a few of the plants from her mouth. She felt warm.
“Li’bulb!”
The woman chuckled, “Yeah?”
“Hi!”
Lightbulb smiled, taking the girl up in her arms, a bit taken aback by how light she was. Baseball and Knife looked at each other, before Lightbulb spoke up.
“She’s little, you jeebweeds.”
“Little?”
“Jeepweeds?”
Lightbulb sighed, “Remember when MePhone had a breakdown after the gem challenge? And MePad had to watch over him?”
“Oh! Wait… with like, all that kiddie stuff?” Knife asked.
Lightbulb nodded, before handing the girl to Knife, making sure she was comfortable before letting her go. The little shifted around a bit before settling in his arms, humming. Knife blushed, patting her back.
“Aw, Knife!” Baseball whispered. “She loves you!”
The shorter object groaned, squirming a bit, “I guess… she’s really light though,” he mumbled, leaning forward. “Are you eating?”
Suitcase cooed, then patting Knife’s chest and laughing loudly.
Baseball sighed, “We can feed her later, do you think we should head back? The dark scares her.”
Before Lightbulb or Knife could respond, Suitcase whined, sticking her face into her caregiver’s chest.
Knife softened, his insides turning into mush - he felt horrible. “Oh, I know, you’re tired, I know… just… relax, okay?”
Lightbulb and Baseball stared at Knife, before he snapped, “What?”
They both chuckled, “Nothing,” Lightbulb said. “Let’s just head back.”
And, so, the group headed back, Baseball and Lightbulb leading the way - while Knife followed, Suitcase falling asleep in the his arms.
