Gigi swears Cecilia will be the death of her one of these days. The automaton’s unpredictable mood swings, combined with the barrage of angry curses and punches Gigi has endured recently, have pushed her to her limit. She has decided to keep her distance from Cecilia this month, hoping a little space will help her cool off. To lift her spirits, Gigi planned some fun activities with a friend, inviting them to the Justice HQ for a change of scenery.
The Justice members are gathered in their HQ’s living room, watching a movie Cecilia suggested. Raora and Elizabeth are cuddled up on the sofa, while Cecilia sits in the green armchair, and the gremlin is on her orange bean bag. Gigi’s eyes are on the screen, but her mind is elsewhere, eagerly awaiting Amelia’s arrival. They had a game date planned, and Gigi can’t help but feel the anticipation buzzing under her skin. This excitement doesn’t go unnoticed by Cecilia, who observes Gigi’s constant foot tapping and frequent glances at her phone.
Gigi catches Cecilia looking at her, but the automaton just nags her to stop making noise because she’s trying to watch the movie. “Can you please stop tapping your feet? We’re trying to watch a movie here.”
Gigi shrugs it off and starts scrolling through her phone instead. She remembers what started their recent fight—Cecilia blamed her for something she didn’t even do. She can’t keep getting away with everything. Fake crying and then blaming me for it? Sure, she’s cute when she cries, but that doesn’t mea—
The doorbell rings, cutting off Gigi’s thoughts. She eagerly rushes to the door to welcome Amelia inside.
“My pearl!” she cries out, wrapping the cute detective in a tight hug, making Amelia squeal from the force.
“My diamond!” Amelia hugs Gigi back, using one hand to give a small wave to the Justice members in the room. “Hey guys, pardon my intrusion.”
The nicknames Gigi and Amelia have for each other are a running joke between the two, stemming from a game they roleplayed in, where Gonathon G (Gigi’s character) accidentally proposed to Jyonathan Watson (Amelia’s character). Since then, they’ve always played along, bantering as husband and wife.
“Thou art always welcome in our humble abode, my dearest pearl! Now come hither, toward my room!” Gigi says, grabbing Amelia’s hand and leading her along. She’s too caught up in the moment to notice the green-eyed automaton glaring at their intertwined fingers.
Inside Gigi’s room, the atmosphere is filled with laughter and playful energy. Gigi and Amelia are sprawled out on the floor, surrounded by snacks, and pillows. The screen in front of them flashes with the vibrant colors of their current game, and both girls are fully immersed, their competitive spirits ignited.
“Gotcha!” Gigi exclaims as her character pulls ahead in Mario Kart, her voice filled with triumph.
“No way! I’m not letting you win that easily!” Amelia retorts, her eyes narrowed in focus as she tries to catch up, her tongue peeking out in concentration.
The two continue to banter and tease each other, their playful rivalry bringing out joyous laughters. Gigi can’t remember the last time she had this much fun. It’s as if the stress of the past week melts away with every button press and every shared joke.
But just outside the door, Cecilia stands silently, her hand resting on the doorknob. She had followed the sound of their laughter, drawn to it despite herself. Through the small crack in the door, she watches the scene unfold, her green eyes narrowed with a mix of emotions she doesn’t fully understand. The way Gigi’s face lights up when she’s with Amelia, the easy way they interact—it gnaws at Cecilia, stirring something deep and unfamiliar within her.
She clenches her fists, the gears within her whirring and grinding as she battles the urge to interrupt. The sight of their clasped hands from earlier still burns in her mind, and now, seeing them so close, so carefree together, it’s like spilling her favorite tea all over her PC, leaving her with nothing to drink but Raora’s canned coffee.
But instead of barging in, Cecilia hesitates. She can’t quite bring herself to break the moment, so she lingers outside, feeling like an outsider in her own home. The laughter from inside the room rings in her ears, each giggle’s a reminder of the distance she feels growing between herself and Gigi.
With a frustrated sigh, Cecilia finally turns away from the door, her footsteps heavy as she walks down the hallway, leaving behind the sound of Gigi’s joyful laughter echoing in her wake.
The Justice members sat in their headquarters, the air heavy with tension as they reviewed the mission briefing. The higher-ups had tasked them with a critical assignment: locate and apprehend Shiori, one of the most elusive and powerful members of Advent. Recent intelligence had pinpointed her presence in a remote location deep in the wilderness, and the team knew this wouldn’t be an easy mission. Shiori was notorious for her strong magical power and cunningness, and the Justice members were well aware that this encounter could be their toughest yet.
The journey to the location was filled with a tense silence, each member mentally preparing for the confrontation ahead. Elizabeth, ever the strategist, outlined a plan of attack, while Raora listened intently, ready to support her teammates in any way necessary. Gigi and Cecilia exchanged a glance, both feeling the familiar rush of adrenaline that came before a battle. They have not made up yet, so the duo’s usual bickering that usually lifts the mood is nowhere to be seen.
As they arrived at the designated area—a dense forest shrouded in mist—they quickly picked up signs of Shiori’s presence. It wasn’t long before the first skirmish erupted. Shiori was as formidable as they had anticipated, her agility and magic making her a challenging opponent. The forest echoed with the sounds of clashing weapons, bursts of energy, and the grunts of exertion as the battle raged on.
Despite their best efforts, the tide of the battle turned against Gigi due to numerous traps prepared by Advent beforehand. Shiori’s power was overwhelming, and in a final, decisive move, she captured Gigi, separating her from the rest of Justice. Before they could free her, Gigi is taken deep into Shiori’s lair—an ancient library hidden away in the heart of the forest.
The library was dimly lit, the air was thick with the musty scent of old parchment, leather, and dust—a perfume of ages gone by. Gigi found herself bound, her powers suppressed by the restraints Shiori had placed on them. The situation was dire, but Gigi, never one to let a grim situation dampen her spirits, decided to make the best of it.
“You know,” Gigi began, a mischievous grin on her face as she looked over at Shiori, who was keeping a watchful eye on them, “you didn’t have to go to all this trouble just to hang out with me. You could’ve just asked.”
Shiori, who had been casually pacing the library's aisles, stopped in her tracks and turned to face Gigi. Her expression was a mix of irritation and amusement, her confidence palpable. “Hang out with you? Don’t be ridiculous. You’re my prisoner, Fister-chan” she said.
“Oh, come on. You’re telling me you don’t enjoy our little chats?” Gigi teased, leaning back as much as her restraints would allow. Her voice was playful, as if they were old friends bantering over a drink instead of enemies caught in a deadly game. “Admit it, you’ve got a soft spot for me.”
Shiori scoffed, but there was a spark in her eyes as she crossed her arms over her chest, striking a pose of playful defiance. “Don’t flatter yourself,” she said, her tone dripping with mock disdain. “I’m just trying to figure out why someone like you would waste your time with Justice. You could be so much more with Advent. We could have fun, play games—no rules, no restraints. Doesn’t that sound better than playing the hero?”
Gigi raised an eyebrow, her grin widening. “Is that your way of saying you want me around more? Just admit you’re obsessed with me, Shiori. You want me so bad~”
Shiori’s expression wavered, but she maintained eye contact, a daring glint in her gaze. She leaned closer, her voice dropping to a low, daring whisper. “And if I do? What of it, Gigi?” Shiori’s lips curved into a playful, confident smile. “Maybe I just like the challenge. Or maybe I’m just waiting for the day you finally realize you’re better off with me.”
“Then I’m quite flattered that the leader of Advent herself wants me.” Gigi said with a wink.
Off to the side, Cecilia stood with her back against one of the towering shelves, her gearsgears whirring angrily as she watched the exchange unfold.
She managed to track down Gigi due to a tracker she placed in the gremlins hoodie.
The knot of jealousy twisted tighter in her chest with every word and smile Gigi shared with Shiori. Cecilia had known Gigi long enough to recognize when she was flirting, but seeing Shiori—one of their enemies—respond with such obvious interest was almost too much to bear.
Even in this situation, she’s getting flirted on again? Cecilia thought bitterly, her eyes never leaving the pair. She wanted to be the one Gigi joked with, the one who made her smile like that. Every laugh, every coy look, felt like a sharp twist of a blade Cecilia couldn’t pull out.
Shiori, seemingly unaware of Cecilia’s piercing gaze, continued to press her case. “Just think about it, Gigi. We could have all the time in the world to do whatever we want. You wouldn’t have to follow anyone’s orders—just fun and games, every day.”
Gigi chuckled, though there was a hint of sincerity in her tone. “You’re tempting, Shiori, I’ll give you that. But I’ve got a team to think about. They’re my friends—my family.”
Shiori’s playful demeanor faltered slightly, but she quickly recovered, masking her disappointment with another playful jab. “Suit yourself. But the offer stands, Fister-chan. Anytime you want to leave Justice behind, Advent will be waiting.”
Gigi gave her a small smile. “I’ll keep that in mind.”
As the banter died down, Cecilia’s jealousy simmered quietly, her feelings for Gigi more conflicted than ever. She knew she had to focus on finding a way out of this mess, but she couldn’t shake the image of Gigi and Shiori laughing together from her mind. It was a reminder of just how much she cared for Gigi—and how much she feared losing her to someone else.
After what felt like hours of searching for an escape route, Gigi and Cecilia finally managed to leave the confines of Shiori’s library after the archiver was distracted by a call from Nerissa. The journey back to the Justice HQ was a silent one, the weight of their recent capture and the lingering tension between them hanging heavily in the air. Both were exhausted, physically and mentally, but there was also an unspoken need to address the unresolved conflict that had been simmering between them long before they were captured.
As they entered the familiar walls of the Justice HQ, the comfort of home was palpable, but the tension between Gigi and Cecilia still loomed. After a few moments of silence, Cecilia took a deep breath and decided to be the first to break it.
“Gigi, I… I need to talk to you,” Cecilia began, her voice uncharacteristically soft. She hesitated, searching for the right words. “About our fight… I’m sorry. I was out of line, and I shouldn’t have blamed you for something you didn’t do. I’ve been carrying around a lot of frustration, and I took it out on you. That wasn’t fair.”
Gigi, who had been absentmindedly fiddling with a loose thread on her sleeve, looked up at Cecilia. Her expression softened as she listened. “It’s okay, Ceci. We’ve both been under a lot of stress lately. I get it,” Gigi said with a small smile. “Let’s just move on, yeah? We can get back to our usual banter and pranks. I miss that.”
Cecilia forced a smile in response. “Yeah… let’s go back to how things were.”
But as the words left her mouth, she knew they weren’t entirely true. Deep inside, the apology and Gigi’s easy forgiveness only made Cecilia’s feelings more tangled. She knew that being friends—just friends—wasn’t enough for her anymore. The jealousy she felt back in Shiori’s lair, watching Gigi flirt with someone else, had brought everything into sharp focus.
As much as she treasured their friendship, Cecilia couldn’t deny the deeper feelings she had for Gigi. Every teasing smile, every shared laugh, and every moment of playfulness only intensified the longing she felt. The realization hit her hard: she couldn’t keep pretending that being Gigi’s friend was all she wanted. If she didn’t do something, if she didn’t act on her feelings, she might lose Gigi to someone else—someone like Shiori, who had already shown more interest in Gigi than Cecilia was comfortable with.
Gigi, completely unaware of the storm brewing inside Cecilia, gave her a playful nudge. “Come on, Ceci. Let’s grab something to eat. I’m starving after all that chaos.”
Cecilia nodded, following Gigi to the kitchen. But as she watched Gigi move around, so full of energy and life, her heart ached with the knowledge that she couldn’t keep hiding how she truly felt. She couldn’t settle for the surface-level camaraderie they shared.
She had to do something—something to show Gigi that she was more than just a friend. Cecilia didn’t know exactly how or when she would make her move, but one thing was certain: she couldn’t let things stay the same. If she wanted to be with Gigi, truly be with her, she would have to take a risk and make her feelings known.
And with that quiet resolve, Cecilia vowed that she wouldn’t let another chance slip through her fingers. One way or another, she would make sure Gigi knew exactly how much she meant to her.
Over the next few days, Cecilia put her plan into action, determined to show Gigi just how much she meant to her. She started with small, thoughtful gestures—ways to convey her feelings without overwhelming Gigi. But as she carried out her plan, a nervous energy buzzed within her, worried that Gigi might see through her intentions—or worse, not notice them at all.
The first sign that something was different came one morning when Gigi woke up to the familiar, comforting aroma of freshly brewed coffee. She wandered into the HQ kitchen, still rubbing the sleep from her eyes, and was surprised to find a steaming mug waiting for her on the counter. Next to it was a small note: For Gigi. Thought you could use a pick-me-up. - Ceci.
Gigi picked up the note, her brow furrowing in confusion. Ceci wasn’t a fan of coffee—in fact, she hated the stuff and would rather throw it out of the drain. It wasn’t like Ceci to go out of her way to make something she didn’t even like, let alone leave a sweet note. Gigi smiled, a warmth spreading through her as she took a sip. But even as she enjoyed the gesture, she couldn’t help but feel a little puzzled. Ceci usually enjoyed challenging her, not catering to her preferences.
Later that day, Gigi was sprawled out on the couch in the HQ’s common area, flipping through channels. Cecilia walked in, her usual confident demeanor tinged with something softer, almost nervous. “Hey, Gigi,” she said, sitting down next to her, “I know things have been a bit intense lately, so I thought maybe we could relax and watch something together? How about Teen Wolf? It’s been a while since we binged a show.”
Gigi blinked, caught off guard by the suggestion. “Uh, sure, Ceci. That sounds fun.” She tried to keep the surprise out of her voice, but she couldn’t help noticing how different Ceci was acting. It wasn’t like her to initiate something so… cozy, and it made Gigi’s heart flutter with a mix of curiosity and confusion.
As the opening credits of Teen Wolf rolled, Gigi couldn’t help but sneak glances at Ceci. There was a gentleness about her tonight, a vulnerability that Gigi rarely saw. Normally, Ceci would be quick to make sarcastic comments about the show or critique its plot, but now she was sitting close, sharing popcorn and laughing at all the right moments. It felt nice, but also strange, and Gigi couldn’t shake the feeling that Ceci was trying to tell her something without words.
By the third episode, Gigi’s curiosity had grown too strong to ignore. She muted the TV and turned to Ceci, her expression serious. “Okay, Ceci, what’s going on? You’ve been acting really different lately—nice, even. That’s not like you.”
Cecilia’s heart pounded as she realized the moment she’d been both hoping for and dreading had finally come. “What do you mean?” she asked, trying to sound casual, though she could feel her palms starting to sweat.
Gigi tilted her head, her eyes narrowing slightly. “Come on, Ceci. You’ve been doing all these nice things—making me coffee, suggesting we watch Teen Wolf, leaving me notes. Normally, we’re teasing each other or arguing about something. Are you okay?”
Cecilia took a deep breath, knowing she couldn’t keep her feelings hidden any longer. “I… I’m fine, Gigi. It’s just that after all that happened, I’ve been thinking a lot about us. About what you mean to me.”
Gigi’s heart skipped a beat. “What I mean to you?”
Cecilia nodded, her voice softening as she found the courage to continue. “Yeah, Gigi. I care about you—a lot. More than I realized before. I’ve been trying to show you that, but I guess I’ve been pretty bad at it.”
Gigi felt her breath catch. She had always known there was something more between them, something she had been too afraid to explore. But hearing Ceci say it out loud made everything suddenly feel real, and Gigi wasn’t sure how to respond. “Ceci, I…” She hesitated, her mind racing. “I’ve been thinking about us too.”
Cecilia’s eyes widened with hope. “You have?”
Gigi nodded slowly, her gaze locking onto Ceci’s. “Yeah, I have. I thought I was imagining things, but now.. now I’m not so sure. I think.. I think I feel the same way.”
For a moment, they just stared at each other, the truth hanging in the air between them. Then, in a surge of emotion, Gigi reached out and took Cecilia’s hand, holding it tightly. “I’ve liked you for a long time, Ceci. I just didn’t know how to say it—or if I should. But now that I know you feel the same way..”
Cecilia’s breath hitched as she squeezed Gigi’s hand back. “I was so scared you’d think I was being weird or that it would mess everything up between us.”
Gigi shook her head, a soft smile tugging at her lips. “You could never mess things up. If anything, this feels right. Like maybe we should’ve had this conversation a long time ago.”
Cecilia’s heart swelled with relief and happiness. “So… what now?”
Gigi grinned, a playful glint in her eyes. “Well, we could keep watching Teen Wolf, or we could spend some time together, just the two of us. No missions, no distractions—just us.”
Cecilia’s smile widened as she felt the weight of her earlier fears lift off her shoulders. “I’d like that. A lot.”
Gigi leaned in closer, her voice softening as she whispered, “Good. Because I’ve been wanting to spend time with you like this for a while now.”
As the next episode of Teen Wolf started playing in the background, Gigi and Cecilia stayed close, their hands still entwined, both of them feeling a sense of peace and anticipation. The journey to this point had been long and complicated, filled with doubts and unspoken feelings, but now that they were here, there was no going back—nor did either of them want to.
Cecilia rested her head on Gigi’s shoulder, and for the first time in a long time, she felt truly content. She didn’t need to worry about what came next, because whatever it was, she knew they would face it together. And that, she realized, was all she had ever wanted.
