“I think you are so pretty.”
It was never in Belladonna's plan to kill Alexander.
Fay may have doubted her words, but Bell was being a hundred percent serious about only wanting to drink his blood…
And maybe getting her lips attached to something other than his neck.
But other than that? She was going to let the waiter live!
Alexander had been so nice to her the entire evening. He complimented her dress, constantly asked if she wanted anything to eat, and overall was an absolute sweetheart to her. Which, yes, could easily be attributed to his very obvious attraction to Bell and the fact he may just be doing his fucking job to get more tips, but hey! Belladonna had to respect his game because he clearly wanted a piece of her, and who was Bell to deny Alexander a little taste?
But then things with Fay got a little bit heated and suddenly Bell was spiraling in her head as she thought about her relationship with Didi and how he treated her.
He was a vampire, for god's sake!
The Count Dracula!
There obviously needed to be certain… conditions to the way their relationship worked.
So what if she couldn't dress herself?
So what if it was up to him on whether she was allowed to eat or not?
She loves Didi! And Didi loves her.
There was no room for debate, even if she herself found it difficult to believe sometimes.
No matter. Once they were reunited in Rome, Belladonna didn't have to think about what she secretly wanted. What she secretly craved.
Didi has given her everything she could ever want.
He fucking granted her immortality!
She definitely had no right to complain or ask anything of him in return.
That's just how men were.
Including Alexander.
So why did Belladonna feel bad?
Why did she feel a sense of remorse as she pinned him to the ground and saw the terrified look in his eyes?
Why did her stomach churn at the sound of his screams as she violently penetrated his neck with her fangs?
Even more baffling is why Alexander had the fucking gall to weakly smile up at her like she was the most beautiful thing he'd ever seen, despite his blood literally dripping down Belladonna's chin.
“Happy to be of service.”
He said under his breath before his eyes rolled to the back of his head and he fell limp in Belladonna's arms.
Why in the world would he say that?!
And why did it actually make Belladonna's heart ache?
How was he any different from all the other men she's killed in the past?
His blood tasted of lust!
But wait…
There had been something else.
Something… sweet.
Like a genuine taste of… of a four letter word Belladonna refused to think or say out loud. Because that's impossible! They only just met! Only a fool would be dumb enough to fall for someone that fast. Especially with someone like Bell.
And yet…
Fay's words echoed in her mind.
Was it really possible to leave this all behind and become… human again?
Because if there was even the tiniest sliver of hope for her, Belladonna couldn't think of anyone else she'd want to spend her life with.
“Oh, fuck.”

Fay was just about to go to bed when she heard the sound of frantic knocking at her door. She sighed and rushed to see who it was.
Her jaw dropped the moment she swung the door open.
There, standing at her doorstep, was a teary-eyed Belladonna cradling the limp and bloody body of the waiter she had been eyeing all night from the restaurant a mere hour ago.
“Bell… what the fuck.”
The younger vampire sniffled, staring up at Fay with desperate, pleading eyes.
“Help me turn him. Please.”
Oh, this was going to be a long night.
