My sleepy cherry

Summary:

Kaoru has worked too hard, and Kojiro can't let his beloved fall asleep at the table in his cabinet.

Notes:

Yeaaah, here's the translation of one of my works, which was written in Russian. Now I just want to share my love with people on ao3, and I'll be glad if you like this little drabble.

Work Text:

Another warm summer night, of which there are many. Microscopic midges fly around the switched-on lamp, attracted by the light. On the sturdy oak table, many papers are laid out, written in ink: somewhere computer and square, and somewhere in the elegant black curls of Sakurayashiki's handwriting.

Kaoru himself continued to try to concentrate on doing work and filling out documents, rather than sleeping. Long pink hair was tied in a low ponytail, allowing the head to relax after the tightly tied hairstyle during the day, and a peach robe hastily put on over his underwear covered a beautiful body, with occasional small wounds from skateboarding.

The calligrapher took off his half-moon glasses, looking at which Miya said that they looked like Dumbledore's glasses from "Harry Potter", and rubbed his barely visible red eyes, yawning widely. The man leaned his head on his fist, still continuing his internal struggle with drowsiness. But, still unconsciously giving in to it, Kaoru lay down straight on the table, instantly falling asleep.

The door opened slightly, allowing Kojiro go into the Kaoru's cabinet, sleepily rubbing his eyes. Seeing his sleeping partner, the green-haired man smiled warmly. As quietly as possible, he approached the table, walking almost like a feather and trying not to step on the creaky boards, and picked up Kaoru in his arms, like a bride. Only a sleeping bride, that's the problem.

Kojiro carried the pink-haired man to their now shared bedroom. Having laid him on the sheet, Nanjo untied the robe, throwing it on the nearest chair, and covered Sakurayashiki with a white blanket. Kaoru's head softly and carefully fell on the pillow, and Kojiro lay down next to him. It's not often that they get a chance to lie like this: in silence, without hurriedly getting ready and discussing immediate plans, hopes or dreams, if you can call them that.

The green-haired one examines every curve of the face, neck and shoulders, everything that was not hidden under the sheet. He looks at the cutely frowning eyebrows in sleep, at the chest rising and falling with breathing, at the pink hair, freed from the grip of the elastic band after the whole day (and sometimes even more than one) and scattered across the pillow.

Kojiro looked and looked, feeling that he could not get enough and stop enjoying. He does not believe that such a miracle (but what a favorite miracle) went to him. Kaoru chose him, and not someone else, who could have become any of the crowd of people on the street. Even the same Adam, in the end. How magically did they jump from the status of "friends" to the status of "family"? Somehow, for sure. Kojiro makes many guesses, but none of them have been confirmed one hundred percent yet.

But Nanjo doesn't care too much, because there is only here and now. Sleeping Kaoru, snoring in his sleep like a little kitten (even if he would never admit it, Kojiro knows the truth), clean sheets and a soft bed.

"Sleep, my sleepy cherry," the green-haired man smiled. The address "my cherry" rolled pleasantly on his tongue, leaving an imaginary taste of juice. "May you only have good dreams."

That night, Kojiro fell asleep with a smile on his face. Not only because Kaoru was nearby. No, because of that too, but rather because of the understanding that Kojiro would not give his Cherry, his cherry, to anyone.
