It was probably the stupidest bet Rain had ever made. And Rain had made plenty of stupid bets in his lifetime.
Sig made a comment about how stick-like Rain’s arms were, which naturally led to him getting defensive. He bet Rain that he couldn’t even lift Phayu up, making him simply scoff and reply that of course he could lift Phayu up.
Sig was never one to back down though, and it seemed that that did seem plausible to him after all, because he then bet Rain that he couldn’t squat while lifting Phayu. Again, Rain scoffed and replied that of course he could squat while lifting Phayu.
Sig had to make sure that Rain definitely couldn’t do it though, so he bet him that he couldn’t do three squats while holding Phayu. To which Rain did not reply, but simply walked over to his boyfriend and demanded him to get into position for Rain to pick him up.
It was entertaining to say the least, watching Phayu try to navigate in uncharted territory as he tried to figure out the best way to position himself so that Rain could lift him. It was obvious to all of them that he was usually the one doing the carrying, especially when his eyes went wide as soon as his feet were both off the ground. Prapai had a fist covering his mouth, trying to bite back a snicker at the look on his friend’s face.
Sky was a little too concerned about Rain potentially dropping Phayu because of this stupid bet to focus too much on how goofy they looked, like a kitten carrying a large dog. He and Prapai moved in as Rain began to squat down, his entire body shaking with the effort of it. He was much stronger than he looked, but Phayu was robust, he had a lot of weight on him.
It was obvious that Rain wasn’t going to make it three whole squats without either hurting himself or dropping Phayu, so Sky decided to help out. Screw Sig and his bet, if he chose not to count it as Rain actually squatting then so be it. He placed an arm under Phayu’s shoulders, right above where Rain was holding him, while his other one went to Phayu’s butt, the only spot where Sky could support some of his weight properly.
As Rain went for the second squat, his lips curling into his mouth with the effort of it, Phayu’s eyes bulged even further and Prapai’s hands went to support Rain’s hips. It was obvious that his legs were about to buckle and with some of the weight taken off of them, only then was he able to fully stand back up.
Without skipping a beat, Rain went right for that third squat, this time making everyone nervous for the outcome. There was a vein popping on his neck, and that along with his trembling knees showed them all just how difficult it was on him. Phayu held his breath throughout, tensing all of his muscles as he prepared for the worst.
It never came though, as Rain rose to fully stand again, letting Phayu down with more grace than what would have been if Prapai and Sky weren’t bracing the both of them. Prapai’s hands didn’t leave Rain’s hips, even after Phayu was fully out of his arms, fully allowing Rain to relax back into his broad chest and regain feeling in his legs.
Similarly, Sky’s hand dawdled on Phayu’s backside, only gently trailing up to his hip once both of his feet were on the ground. From where Rain was standing, he could see Sky whispering to Phayu, just as Prapai’s voice sounded in his own ear.
“You okay?”
“Mm,” Rain hummed. “My legs hurt.”
“I bet. You did a good job though.”
That sounded good coming from Prapai’s mouth. Not as good as it normally did from Phayu, but enough that Rain wanted to hear it again.
“I did?” he asked, trying to induce another compliment.
Prapai chuckled, like he knew exactly what Rain was doing. He indulged though. “So good. I’m sure Phayu thinks so too, right?”
“I think what?” Phayu asked, finally tuning into their conversation. His eyes fell on Rain in Prapai’s arms, his head cushioned on one of his pecs while Prapai’s hands still lingered on his hips. Rain was surprised to find that the look on his face wasn’t jealousy, but something he couldn’t quite place. Curiosity maybe?
“That Rain did a good job,” Prapai answered for Rain, sensing that this conversation was taking a turn in a direction that none of them were really prepared for, but no one was putting a stop to either.
“Rain always does a good job,” Phayu said. Rain was right. Praise sounds the best coming from his mouth.
“Correction,” Sky piped up, his slender fingers fiddling with the outer seam of Phayu’s jeans. “Rain can always do a good job. Doesn’t mean he always does.”
“Rain is always good,” Rain told them all. “I’m a good boy.”
The sound of a throat clearing knocked them all out of the little bubble they’d created, cutting them off from the rest of the faculty’s courtyard they were currently standing in the middle of. Sig was the one who popped the bubble, standing there with a smirk on his face. “Forget the bet. You all need to get out of here before you tear each other's clothes off right here right now.”
The four of them exchanged glances, unable to find it within themselves to be embarrassed. All they could think about was how good Rain could be for the rest of them in the privacy of one of their homes. Phayu was already pulling his keys out of his pocket before any of them even took a step in the direction of the parking lot.
“Have fun!” Sig called after them, sounding far too gleeful for someone who just witnessed the beginning of a foursome.
