Work Text:
The rain had long stopped drizzling on the windows of the wooden oak house Tim and Lucy owned. The house represented their past and current future, the slippery oak and design representing all their past events. The house was a impulse buy after getting back together and not wanting to waste time. A silver line between mistakes and wrong decisions in the past filled with tears and thoughts that dampen spirits and a future filled with light and something that feels right. Two bodies were laying in their bed listening to the birds singing outside in the lazy morning Tim and Lucy had, after their long night of intense love making and confession of promises for a better tomorrow,Lucy turned to Tim and asked:
"Darling, can I ask you a question"?- She asked
"My love, you can ask me anything , even if it's stupid"- He answered
"Ah, so you think I am stupid"-She teased. He chuckled whole heartedly. This banter was the banter everyone missed. After they broke up it felt like a soul tie was broken and a bond was replaced that was once thunk irreplaceable. Tim felt like a shell of a human, just existing in the void and Lucy felt like snake skin, shedding apart waiting for the next cycle when she could try to be a better version of herself, to replace the human in the past, the one she once was. But one night her love came back to her, promised her to be better for her and himself and the puzzle piece once missing slotted back in the puzzle and the world was once again on it's feet.
"God I missed this banter. Yes we have it even now and it's better than before. I missed your teasing once in a while. You are so incredible sweetheart you know that"-His blue eyes looked at her amber eyes warmly. Those same blue eyes that once held a chamber of stormy secrets, were now looking at her warmly and her stomach filled with warmth. She smiled bashfully and thanked the universe for bringing this amazing man in her life. She took his larger hand in her smaller one and kissed each knuckle individually, and he just looked at her shyly with so much love for this one woman who changed his life for the better.
"My mother, as awful as she treated me, taught me an important thing. In life you always walk a silver line between right and wrong, good and bad, tears and happiness. A timezone, a small piece in the universe that calls out to balance out everything. You, honey did it. Everything that happened was for a reason and your heart called out my name and came home. You came home for me, showed up for me and thank God you did that. I love you so much and I know you love me even more. Thank you for showing up for yourself and knowing that you did it. You have taught me the most important lesson in life: love yourself in order to love others"- She looked at him and smiled, took his hand in hers once again and leaned in.- " Tim never forget that I am always here for you and will always stand in your corner and wait for you to land in my arms. You are my universe alright, my silver line and my shoulder to cry on. What you do to me and for me I will always be grateful for!- Her cover slipped and her soft lips kissed his own. His eyes filled with tears, grateful for this one woman in his life, other than Angela who is family, and now her who became more than his soul, and consumed his entire being.
"I love you, thank you for walking the silver line with me!"
"I love you"
