Work Text:
Hachi looked at himself in the bathroom mirror.
While yes, he did agree to try; and hell, honestly wanted to try his friend Risa’s new dress out, he didn’t think that it would make him look... This good. He was honestly a little shocked about it. It was a black dress, sleeveless, instead held up by a strapped chocker and some lacing on the back. It was also noticeably... quite revealing in some parts, mainly the chest and the side of the thighs. With his chest out being flatter, it more laid across instead of enhancing it like the dress is supposed to, but luckily it still covered his nipples. Some small, faux diamond chains also laced across the dress, and around the more revealing parts of it as well. He was honestly just glad that the it was so flexible with his silhouette, considering he doubts highly that a guy like him probably wasn’t their target demographic making it.
It was almost flattering, in a strange sense. Hachi never took himself to ever really be one to even touch a dress, so this was definitely out of his expertise, but he couldn’t say he entirely minded it either. A little itchy, but that was probably just a him problem more than anything. He fluffed out his hair, bangs falling more downwards, liking how his black hair and grey eyes complimented the look in many ways. Damn, no wonder girls go nuts over expensive clothes he thought, this was nice!
He took a step back from the mirror, praying that a group of other dudes wouldn’t stumble in the bathrooms at this moment. He immediately took it all in, how it curved around him and how the chains dangled across his thighs and shoulders. Hell, he even started trying some modal poses out just for fun, and to see what it looked like at different angles-
Ah. Well then.
As he turned to his side, an embarrassed blush creeped up on his face a bit as he could see his... Bulge, rounded out a bit more from the fabric. He didn’t think that was gonna be an issue, but it turns out it can be. He wondered if there was any way he could prevent that from showing more...
(Ah well) He thought as the embarrassment began to die down more, (I’m only wearing it to show off for a bit, some small public embarrassment won’t hurt, campus has seen crazier things.)
“You done in there??” Risa called out to the school bathroom as she waited with Kali by the wall, near their usual spot where they eat lunch sometimes. “Yep, just... Let me make a clean entrance for you guys, go the lunch spot!” Hachi shouts back, hoping to strut out and have some fun with it while he’s here now. “Pff, you’re so dramatic today.” Risa teased as she and Kali made their way to sit on the floor closer to the corner wall. “Come out, I wanna see it!”
As if on cue, Hachi made his way out of the bathroom to turn the corner, trying to modal walk, or what he hopes is modal walking, to the corner where his friends are seated. He smiles, blushing slightly as he sees Kali take a picture smiling and Risa’s eyes light up. “DAMN BOY, look at you go!!” She states cheerful as she asks, “Do you feel like a princess?” “I mean... I don’t feel awful.” Hachi shrugs, honestly very pleased at both of their reactions, and his own. “Well, aren't you sexy?” Kali lightly teases at him as she stares. Hachi blushes more at the comment, “H-How dare you!” he scoffs, though not very threateningly. Kali just hums as she sips her coffee, “I bet Dallas is getting it good tonight.”
Risa almost chokes as she tries to drink her water, and Hachi just blankly stares at her blushing hard. “Oh, DAMN I forgot about Dallas, and Uka for the matter, where is he even?” Risa asks Kali about Uka. “He’s in a class right now, that’s why I took a photo.” She says as she shows the photo sent to her partner to both Hachi and Risa. “Well at least get a better angle next time.” Hachi joked, and Kali just sticks her tongue out.
A few seconds later, Kali gets a message on her phone from her partner saying “OMG HE LOOKS SO PRETTY!!! <3" and she chuckles at it before he sends another one, “Does he feel pretty?” She looks back up at Hachi, “Uka asks if you feel pretty.” she states to him. “O-Oh, um... Yeah, I’d say I’m feeling pretty good.” Hachi smirks a little as his embarrassment of being on campus in a dress has mostly died down by now. “He says yes" Kali texts back, prompting Uka to send back a “Yippee” GIF, causing Kali to giggle a bit.
“Hey Dallas, where are you!?” Risa yells at her phone as she calls Dallas from the other line. “What?? I’m vaping!” Dallas yells back annoyed, sounding like he’s outside the campus. “Come to the lunch spot, there’s a surprise here!” She replies, standing against the wall. “What? Why should I?” Dallas asks, not very amused by whatever was happening. Risa sighs dramatic “If I tell you, will you come over?” she asks.
“...Depends, if it’s stupid no.” He replies back blunt. “Hachi’s with us right now, and I asked him to try on the dress I’m wearing to the club tonight.” She states, hearing Dallas’s footsteps from the other line. “Wait, Hachi’s wearing a dress!? That’s hilarious! Where are you?” He says, now very on board to seeing what exactly was going on. “Lunch spot, I’ll meet you in the hall.” She says walking from the corner and around the other wall where a hallway starts.
“You realize when he sees you like this, you’ve got him wrapped around your finger y’know?” Kali comments to Hachi, who’s now slightly nervously standing waiting for Dallas and Risa to come over. “I do not! Ass.” Hachi retorts, though he can’t help the small sheepish smirk that appears on his face at the thought, “Besides, he’s just gonna insult me.” He says lightly, bracing for Dallas’s relentless teasing and curses about to come his way for probably “looking so feminine”. “Uh huh...” Is all Kali says before sipping her coffee once again. She’s not stupid, it’s obvious that Dallas and Hachi have at least something going on, as much as Dallas likes to deny it.
“Over ‘round here!” Risa states as she walks with Dallas in the hallway. “I can’t even BELIEVE Hachi would even AGREE to try something as stupid as a dress on!” He says with an empty soda can in hand. “I mean, why on earth would he-”
“Hey Dal.”
Dallas froze as him and Risa got to the lunch spot, not even noticing Kali cracking up a bit as he just... stared. Stared at his friend, in a tight, black dress, that showed off all his curves and features, chains dangling, his face smiling proudly at him... He couldn’t breathe for a second as he didn’t even notice himself crinkling the can in his hand, his face flushing with colour and his mouth gaping open.
Oh damn, maybe Kali was right. Hachi just felt like he struck gold with what he was seeing from Dallas, was he NOT going to take this opportunity up to playfully flirt with his friend for a bit? “Hey sweetheart, miss me?~” Hachi said, strutting his way forward to Dallas, seeing his face grow even pinker. Dallas felt like fighting for his life, gasping out and not even noticing how fast his heart was pounding until he backed up a bit from Hachi. “A-Ah...” Was all he could break out as his throat went dry from the shock value.
Hachi was loving this, he hadn’t seen Dallas so flustered in weeks, but he also wanted to make sure he didn’t scare him off too much, he wouldn’t be that cruel. “Do you need some water Dal?” He asked him kindly, and that apparently just made him more flustered as Dallas wobbled his legs back until he was steadying himself against the wall, banging his head a bit as Hachi walked closer and closer...
“Woah, easy there, Dal, no need for a bruise...” Hachi said, putting a hand around the side of Dallas’s head to keep it steady. Dallas wasn’t really paying attention though, his eyes focusing around Hachi now the he was closer to him, scanning across Hachi’s neck and down Hachi’s arm and on Hachi’s stomach, and-
Oh shit, Dallas didn’t mean to stare down, but before he could stop himself his eyes lingered on where Hachi’s bulge slightly went out, and he basically felt the wind knocked out of him as he covered his face with one hand, his cheeks burning in a way he’d never felt before. To Dallas’s horror, Hachi seemed to have taken notice, and that stupid bastard smirked softly down back at him, a look of affection in his eyes as he leaned a little to whisper, “You like what you're seeing, huh?”
All Dallas could respond with was insults at this point, this was too much, Hachi needed to stop teasing before Dallas did something he would regret. “Y-You fucker! You bitch! You slut! Y-You...” Whatever other kind of empty insults Dallas could come up with were immediately silenced as Hachi cupped his cheek, stroking it gently with his thumb as he backed up a little to give Dallas some space. “It’s okay, Dal... I’m sorry for looking like a slut.” He joked, a soft and sympathetic gaze on his friend's confused and slightly scared eyes.
He couldn’t take it anymore, Dallas’s legs felt like they were going to collapse any second now, he needed something to hold onto, get him away from all of these stupid fluttery and fuzzy feelings that were making his core hot and his head spin, but there was nothing, there was nothing to latch onto, there was just Hachi, only Hachi, so soft, so beautiful, makes him feel like everything's okay, so-
A loud whimper escaped his lips as he gave up and clung to the back of Hachi’s neck, letting his legs sag down more, hoping whatever Hachi could do would stabilize him somehow. There wasn’t really anything, or anyone else to grab onto to be fair, so this was his best bet right now. “Okay, okay...” Hachi whispered soft, attempting to keep Dallas stable as he held behind his back, though it was a little difficult given how much more muscle mass Dallas had over Hachi. Eventually, Hachi managed enough weight to speak again, “Can you lean Dal? You’re quite heavy...” he asks, and Dallas obliges immediately, letting him sink into Hachi and laying his forehead onto his shoulder.
“...Woah.” Commented out Risa, both shocked and not shocked at the same time from what she was seeing across the space. Kali just continued to sip her coffee, not surprised in the slightest. “Heterosexual my ass.” She whispered to herself, referring to how much Dallas complains about how they’ve talked about him a few times being a closet gay and him replying by mostly just calling them “dumbass woman” or now mostly just a bunch of swears if he was feeling angry enough.
Hachi ignored them for now, scratching Dallas’s scalp in calm, gentle motions, hoping to ease him a bit before rejoining the group. He did feel a little bit bad, but also, he mostly just felt cheeky about it, knowing he was probably the only person that could get his friend in such a state just by wearing a dress of all things, and if Dallas really despised it, he would’ve just punched him or ran off. He felt Dallas’s head rise, and he simply just looked at Hachi, going from confused and flustered to dazed and flushed, leaning into the head scratches Hachi kept providing. “Come on, let’s go sit down.” He says, and Dallas happily leaned in to follow. Honestly if Hachi told him to do anything right now, he probably would, because he knew Hachi would catch him if he fell.
Sitting down in a crisscross, Hachi helped lower Dallas gently with him on his lap, and let Dallas lean on his shoulder as he looked to the side, embarrassed now realizing that both Kali AND Risa probably just saw him break down over a dress. A DRESS. What was wrong with him??
“Damn, well now I’m glad I did bring you over.” Risa teased lightly, enamored a bit by how Dallas is right now. Dallas didn’t have the energy to protest, instead just glaring at her as stern as he could make it for now while leaning into Hachi’s chest more. “See? Power dress right there.” Kali commented to Hachi, causing Dallas to lightly snarl a little while Hachi chuckled. “Hm, guess so... huh.” Hachi replies, still scratching Dallas’s scalp as he sees him begin to daze out of reality for a bit, using Hachi as a pillow. “Did I tire you out that much?” Hachi chuckled down to Dallas, the man nuzzling his face a bit into the dress fabric, Hachi a bit embarrassed.
“...mhm” Dallas whispered quietly, but clearly not quiet enough as both Risa chuckled and Kali was about to giggle from the comment, clicking Dallas’s mind back into gear as he then made the horrifying realization that, they were not somewhere private, and in fact still on campus in their lunch corner, and in fact nuzzling into Hachi in public.
Dallas slowly got off, and then immediately turned his attention to the two girls, blushing in hard embarrassment and frustration, “Y-You- What the fucking hell do you think you’re laughing about you pieces of dumbass shit motherfucking-” This rambling went on for a while until Risa finally decided to break it, “Relax man, it was just kinda funny, it’s fine.” She said in understanding while raising her hand in surrender. Kali bursts laughing a bit from the absurdity of the whole situation, and Dallas takes high offense, “KALI, THIS IS NOT FUNNY!” He shouts, mostly angry but a little hurt.
“No- No it’s not you... Well, it is, but-” Kali tries to calm herself down, “I could honestly care less what you and Hachi do, don’t fret.” She reassures him, Dallas still mad but trying not to cause too much of a scene right now, with people walking by them and how pink he was, this wasn’t a scene he wanted to cause. “Y-You-” He starts, but then Kali gives two thumbs up and mouths, “It’s fine” to him, and he decides to just drop it for now. “She’s right, don’t fret, we don’t care.” Risa also reassures him, worried that Dallas probably took their laughing the wrong way as to bigrade him for his actions. They were more laughing at the irony than anything.
Risa looked back at Hachi, who was now rubbing Dallas’s shoulder, “By the way, I’m gonna need that dress back, you look lovely but I’d like to go clubbing.” she tells him, and Hachi looks back at her. “Ah yes, right.” He says, standing back up to go back to the bathroom stalls to change clothes again. He was kinda going to miss the dress, but the seams were also starting to annoy him, so he was happy to take it off.
When Hachi and Dallas got back to their dorm, Dallas was laying on the couch, mostly just staring up into space at today’s weird event. He also caught himself staring at Hachi in the kitchen, remembering the beautiful way his hips curved out at the fabric, and how soft he felt against him-
NO! No, he CANNOT do this again, they’ve already had their time as friends with benefits, and he’s concluded that those benefits never meant anything, so why was that DAMN IMAGE of his lovely best friend in that dress looping on his mind like a record...
“You good bro?” Hachi asked Dallas from across the room, causing Dallas to snap out of his thoughts. “Huh? Oh yeah, I’m good...” He lied, hoping Hachi wouldn’t try to push anything further than that. Unfortunately, he did. “You sure? Just... today and all?” Hachi asked, knowing Dallas probably wasn’t too fond of his teasing from then... Damn, he felt a bit bad now. “It’s fine Hachi.” He said a bit loud, just waiting for the rest of the day to be over.
Hachi stopped what he was doing to walk over, hovering over Dallas’s face as he laid there. "Okay, well... I’ll be here if you need anything.” And Hachi was going to leave it at that, until he decided to chance at something risky, and leaned over to cup Dallas’s face, ghosting his lips inches apart. “And I mean... Anything.” He said in soft sultry, causing Dallas to blush once again underneath him as he leaned back up, Dallas almost looking a bit disappointed as Hachi walked to his room in a hurry.
(Whyyyy does he hate himself??) Hachi thought sitting on his bed as he regretted doing what he just did, feeling dumb for even suggesting it. That ship has sailed, and he knew it did, but... God, would he be lying if he said he didn’t feel at least some tension between them back at campus.
Dallas didn’t entirely know why he was doing this, if some weird bug might be possessing him at this point to convince him to let himself in, but that offer was... What he thought it was right? Surely it had to be, he didn’t see why it wouldn’t be, it was making his heart pound again like it did back at campus, made him feel dizzy and weak for even stooping so low after calling it off... But fuck it, it probably wasn’t what he thought it was anyway. He let himself into Hachi’s room.
There wasn’t really much thinking from then onwards, and Dallas honestly didn’t care to think about it either, but what he definitely did know was that whatever scent he smelled on that dress smelled way better on top of him.
