Shivering

Summary:

Very short Samarina fic about Samarie being cold and Marina helping her warm up. Made while very sleep deprived so pardon my bad grammar or spelling errors! Also sorry this is out of character, this idea popped into my head and I wanted to keep it short and not over write it.

Work Text:

It was winter. A nice, chilly winter night. Marina and Samarie were on a date, they had gotten dinner and were now walking in the park.

Samarie had made a poor lapse in judgement. Given how sweaty she'd tend to get from pure nerves she figured she'd wear a nice dress. Not too different from her usual go to outfit, just longer sleeves and it being a full dress rather than a shirt with a dress over it. But it was much colder than she'd thought it'd be.

She shivered like a stray dog, subtly trying to warm her hands up by nervously rubbing them together. She was hunched up, walking quite awkwardly. She glanced over at Marina, to see how she was keeping up in the cold.

She was beautiful, graceful. Her hair was down fully for once, she wore a fuzzy hat with a scarf, jacket, and long skirt with cute heeled boots. She had gloves on too. The colors were warm and very pleasing to the eye against her porcelain skin.

Marina turned to Samarie, catching her staring. Samarie turned her head away, blushing. "You look like a zombie," Marina stated simply. "Ka! S-sorry Marina!" Samarie yelped, looking down and frowning. She knew Marina was too beautiful to be seen with the likes of her. Marina was like the moon. Shining brightly against the night sky filled with stars. Samarie was like a washed up sewer mouse in comparison.

"It's fine.. Are you not cold?" Marina questioned. "A-ah no! It's alright I'm fi-f-fine," Samarie tried to claim, but the wavered stutter in her voice revealed her lies. "Your hands.." Marina whispered more to herself, taking Samarie's hands suddenly.

Samarie blushed heavily, the heat bringing a bit of relief at the very least. Marina was warm. She could feel it. Just in her gloved fingers. "Alll-mer you're like an ice cube," Marina exclaimed. "A-ah it's alright! I really don't feel it mu.. Mu..." Before Samarie could finish, she let out a surprisingly loud sneeze. Contrasting to her usual quiet, deep voice. "Mhmm.. Completely unrelated note I've had my time, how about we go back to my place and warm up?" Marina offered. Samarie was starstruck. She had been to Marina's before but everytime she asked it was like the first time again. She still couldn't believe Marina was talking to her.. Or even dating! "Yes- k-ka! I mean if you don't mi-mind," Samarie stammered over her words. "Course I don't, I offered silly," Marina teased the taller girl. Samarie went red, looking away. Marina just giggled slyly, making Samarie more flustered.

..

Once they took off their shoes and got inside Marina turned the heat up a fair bit. She noticed Samarie, waiting for permission to sit as usual. "You don't have to ask you know, it's less weird if you just sit," Marina sighed, sitting herself down. Samarie nodded, plopping near Marina. Marina examined Samarie further. Now that they were in better lighting and inside the poor girl looked frigid. She was consistently shivering and was turning an almost purplish blue. Her lips seemed purple aswell but it was hard to tell given her black lipstick. Her nose and cheeks were pink, though that could be her being totally mush for Marina.

After a few quiet minutes of watching her shiver Marina realized she wasn't going to stop just from the heater. She must've been beyond freezing and she began to worry about the scrawny girl catching a cold. She already seemed to have a runny nose.

"Hey scoot over here," Marina patted her side. Samarie silently obeyed, not thinking twice about what was happening. That was until Marina opened her arms up a bit, waiting. Samarie blinked, confused. ".. Y.. You want me t-to?" Samarie stuttered in disbelief. "Sure I don't mind, besides you shivering is starting to kill my mood," Marina joked. Samarie smiled (a creepy but genuine smile) and quickly jumped into her arms.

... Marina was sooo warm.

It was heavenly. Samarie closed her eyes, nuzzling into her. Marina meanwhile could really feel how cold Samarie was. She felt like a bag of ice was dumped on her. Given the heater and fully layered outfit, though, Marina was getting rather stuffy. So she didn't mind in the slightest.

After Samarie warmed up slightly, she began to really take in the embrace. Marina had took off her gloves, placing her hands around Samarie's frail body. They were soft. Her outfit was also soft. Her hair was silky. She smelt lovely. Sweet scented perfume if Samarie had to guess. Or maybe floral? Her stomach was still warm from their dinner. Samarie struggled to eat much, given her weak and shrunken gut. She'd often take as many bites as she can stomach, then offer the rest to Marina (which she normally took). Her full, warm stomach felt great against Samarie's scrawny torso and ribs. Like a nice fireplace or blanket... Cozy.. Warm.. Soft...

Marina let Samarie curl up on her, though before long she noticed Samarie calmed down a fair amount. "You feel better-" Marina was going to ask, but looked down to see the lanky girl had fallen asleep! The curly haired girl laughed to herself a bit, laying down carefully with the sleeping lady ontop of her. Curled up like a weird fetus. Samarie's head was against her chest, Marina's steady heartbeat soothing her usually bizarre dreams. Not that Marina knew. Samarie subconsciously cuddled into Marina, shivering finally ceasing for good. Marina gently brush through her tangled hair. It seemed she had washed it for once. Granted they went to quite a fancy restaurant. She probably prepared herself for the date. To most that would be the bare minimum, to Marina that wouldn't even meet her standards. But, Samarie.. Struggled, both with physical and mental illness. So she appreciated when she did gather the energy to look nice, or try to.

Marina yawned quietly, catching her eyes getting heavy. She began to let herself drift off, Samarie curled on her like a damn cat. Despite her protruding bones and weird sleeping position, Samarie was rather comfortable to cuddle with. She had a weird sort of touch. A light one. Marina held her with her arms, passing out with Samarie in her hold.
