You lost your words, I lost my sight, and we lost everything together.
You wrapped my wounds. I attempted yours. Together we healed one another.
I wish I could have done better by you, to protect you like you protected me so many times.
“I’m sorry.”
But you couldn’t reply.
“I should have been better.”
But you couldn’t reply.
“I should have been stronger.’
But I couldn’t have been, I never was.
I’m the youngest, the weakest. I couldn’t even manage to stop our downfall.
“I’m sorry.”
You placed your hand on my head.
“I love you.”
