Work Text:
In the absence of what can be seen or felt, heard or sensed, the girl spans her hands wide and searches across the darkness.
The void jolts and rumbles, unanswered questions rattling across pitch-black walls that close in.
She feels for her heart, and it is still there, but it shrinks and shrinks. She inhales, too loudly, and claps a palm over her mouth to keep the noise down.
She falls to her knees, keeping the useless noise to a minimum as her body turns itself inside out.
She is losing the last of her life.
Shrinking away, too small.
