A Crown of Thorns and Laughter

Summary:

Keji a ordinary guy from the real world reincarnated in the jujutsu no kaisen world as Sukuna

Chapter 1: In the Hands of a God

Chapter Text

Keiji Takeda had always been a little bit of an oddball. Sure, he was smart—actually, he was considered a genius by most people—but he had a habit of missing the obvious. His dense nature meant he never quite picked up on social cues, and his interests were always fleeting. One day, he was obsessed with physics, the next, it was video games, then anime. And just like that, he'd hopped from fandom to fandom. His latest fixation? A casual glance at Jujutsu Kaisen.

He watched enough to know that the world was full of curses, jujutsu sorcerers, and most importantly, Ryomen Sukuna—the King of Curses. Sukuna was, to put it lightly, terrifying, powerful, and utterly malicious. But Keiji didn't think much about the details. After all, it was just fiction.

Or so he thought.

One morning, after dozing off on his couch post-episode, Keiji woke up to the strangest feeling. His body felt... different. Stronger. His senses, sharper. He blinked a few times, feeling a foreign weight on his skin. Tattoos? He scrambled to his feet, finding himself in a room bathed in ancient architecture. His reflection in a nearby polished surface showed a terrifying grin.

"Sukuna?" he whispered, staring at the figure in front of him. "Wait. No way. I’m... Sukuna?"

Before Keiji could panic, a sharp voice called out, breaking his reverie. A man entered the room, dressed in robes and unmistakably familiar. Megumi Fushiguro. And right behind him, Yuji Itadori, looking cautious, tense, and ready for battle.

"You again," Megumi growled. "Sukuna."

Keiji blinked. His mind was still processing. I’m in Sukuna’s body? Well, that explained the tattoos and the sharp teeth. But he didn't have the time to dwell on it. He straightened up, trying to act cool and intimidating, just like he imagined Sukuna would.

"Yeah, yeah, calm down, kid," he said, waving his hand dismissively. "No need for the dramatic entrance."

Yuji's eyes widened in confusion, and Megumi hesitated. "What... did you just say?"

Keiji scratched his head. "I mean, why the hostility? We don’t have to fight, right?" Wait, did Sukuna fight them all the time? He vaguely remembered something about that, but surely he could talk his way out of it. He wasn’t that bad.

The two sorcerers exchanged a wary look. Megumi was the first to speak. "Sukuna… you don’t want to fight?"

Keiji frowned. "Fight? Nah, not really. Too much effort."

Yuji raised an eyebrow, clearly bewildered. "Are you messing with us? You love fighting."

"Sure, but it’s not like I have to fight every time I see you guys," Keiji retorted, hands on his hips, trying to mimic Sukuna’s arrogance. "Why bother?"

This time, there was a long pause. It was as if they were trying to process what he had just said.

"You’ve... changed," Megumi muttered.

Keiji let out an awkward laugh. "You could say that." He had no idea what Sukuna was actually like, aside from being a bit of a sadist and a monster. He figured toning it down a bit might work in his favor. The last thing he wanted was to die (again?) in this world because of some ancient grudge he didn't even remember.
