A maneater finds it's first employees and normal game stuff happens.

Work Text:

From it’s nest, it had roamed the tunnels of the cave for anything that could be of interest. Scrap that had once been new to it lost that status, devoured once the rumbling of it’s gut got loud enough. That’s how it now found itself here. Held in the arms of a larger being while it tried to soothe the crying creature. The screeches from another orange being scared the tiny baby, escaping the two only for one to follow after it and pick it up.

Much larger arms comfortably held the small pale creature, it didn’t take long for the crying to cease and for curiosity to take the fears place. It watched as it was carried along the corridors, snuggling in the limbs. It was further from it’s nest than ever before.

“You’re just such a cutie aren’t you! I’ll make sure we stay away from her, don’t worry.” It was noise to the creature, not understanding anything the orange being had spoken, but whatever carried it still vocalized regardless, just an attempt to fill some of the silence.

Soon, after some time of wandering, the two found themselves out of the natural made tunnels to ones made by beings like the orange one. It brought even more for the little creature to look at! All new things for the baby. Shimming out of the arms, the small creature landed on the floor before it wandered around the new environment. Still close to the orange being, the being also staying close to the baby, it took in things that were around.

It looked at doors, generators, wires, anything that was new. Any scrap it looked towards, the babysitter would pick up while vocalizing “Not for baby!” causing the ‘baby’ to stare for a moment before it returned to explore. It was fun for the time, until the two walked past spider webs. The creature stopped in it’s place, something hanging was in view. Something as tall as the orange being but wrapped head to toe in a thick web. The exploration fun disappeared as a sudden fear took the space. Tears streamed out quick as the baby’s small feet pattered against the floor, running away as fast as it could from danger.

There was just too many scary things! The loud and sudden noise from the other larger being, the body hanging from the ceiling, more that would probably show up at sometime, the little creature couldn’t handle it. It’s buddy wasn’t even there to help it calm down, worried over the hanging body. Nothing was there to help the poor thing.

Alone in a new area, the small creature began to change. Deeper cries sounded out with it’s normal ones as the limbs extended out. From a small baby it began to change into a monster just like the others within the mines. A large beast now with a lack of curiosity, now it only wanted to protect itself and it’s nest.

"Hey little guy, it’s ok! I won’t let the spider hurt,” rounding the corner stopped the employee mid sentence, the new form of the maneater stood there. The two stared at each other for a moment while the other finally said “you.” Both did a quick motion at once, the employee rushing back the way they came as the monster lunged forward. Some how the orange being was faster, but that didn’t stop the attack.

A straight path didn’t help, the second lunge connected. Thrown to the floor, there was nothing that could help the foreign being. The monster tore into the flesh, piece by piece consuming the thing it was once friendly with. When the screams quieted and the maneater had it’s fill, it simply left the remains now on a new mission. To guard it’s nest from anything that once scared it.
