"Baby?" Jake's drawl filled the quiet bedroom, you groaned in pain, flipping over so that you could see him. He was still in uniform despite the late hour, concern etching its way onto his handsome features as he got a proper look at you in your shared bed. "What's going on?"
"Rough day," You groaned, making grabby hands in his direction. "Need you."
"I'll be right there, sweetheart." You watched him take off and fold his uniform, admiring the muscles the Navy had given him. The sight of your handsome boyfriend was a welcome relief after the day you had, your mind was a mess and your body ached.
"I missed you," You whispered at he crawled in bed behind you, bringing you into his solid chest. The heat of his body and his familiar scent relaxing you almost instantly.
"I missed you too, baby. If I had it my way, I'd never leave your side." You hummed, liking the idea. Everything felt right when you were in his arms. Even though sleep had eluded you up until that point, you felt your eyelids begin to droop.
Jake kissed your neck, hands sliding beneath your night shirt to rest on your bare skin.
"Go to sleep for me, baby. I've got you," He began to softly hum a comforting tune, burying his face in your neck. Your last thought before you slipped into sleep was I love you.
