My name is Eclipse Solace. Have I had the easiest life? No. Every challenge and mishap has to be for a good reason though, right? Maybe not.
I don't have a mom anymore. Her name was Trixie Snake, she kept her maiden name. I could always tell her and dad weren't in love. They stayed together for convenience. I'd known that since I was small.
After she died it wasn't the same, my dad started working more. He was a hero, but before he spent more time at home. Now he flung himself into work, patrols, late shifts, you name it.
I never wanted to be put in a war. I never wanted to have fight for my life. I was so close to ending it all, or saying ‘fuck it’ and overthrowing the gods. Whatever option came first. The one thing I wasn't aware of though until recently, is that my 'dad's wasn't really my dad. He was my step dad.
My real dad is the god Apollo from Greek mythology. I've only seen him a handful of times, and that's when he was turned into a mortal. After his 6 months of suffering he became an Olympian again and visited camp for a bit. Now everything was back to normal.
I wish I could just settle down and become a writer with my girlfriend, but instead I'm stuck as a 15 year old kid fighting for their life because they just so happened to be a child of a god.
Speaking of my girlfriend, her name is Aspyn, daughter of Athena and the sweetest person I know. She's the reason I'm still alive right now. I would do anything for her.
You know saying I'd do anything for her is not helping against the theory that my fatal flaw is loyalty. The amount of times it gets proven is honestly a bit concerning. I'd stabbed myself in the stomach to try and save my friend Freya before, but that's a story for a different time.
Will Solace isn't my older brother, despite the last name. My mother's name was Trixie, not whatever Will's mom was named.
My friend group consists of seven other girls, Freya, Reign, Demi, Aspyn, Isa, Winnie, Scarlet, and Aura. I met Demi, Freya, Reign, Isa, and Aspyn at my last school without knowing they were demigods. It was definitely surprising to see them at camp during summer after being upset that I wouldn't see them again.
