Chapter Text

The moon hung low over Carfax Abbey, casting long shadows across the crumbling stone walls. Inside, Renfield paced nervously, his eyes darting to the windows every few seconds. He knew his master would arrive soon, and with him, the promise of power and eternal life.

A cold breeze swept through the room, extinguishing the candles. Renfield's heart raced as he sensed the presence of Count Dracula materializing behind him.

"My faithful servant," Dracula's voice purred, sending shivers down Renfield's spine. "What offerings have you brought me tonight?"

Renfield turned, his eyes wild with a mixture of fear and adoration. "Master, I have gathered the lives of a thousand flies, as you commanded. Their essence sustains me, and through me, it shall sustain you."

Dracula's lips curled into a cruel smile. "You please me, Renfield. Your devotion is... admirable." He stepped closer, his cape billowing around him like wings of darkness. "But tell me, do you not yearn for more? To truly become like me?"

Renfield fell to his knees, clutching at the hem of Dracula's cloak. "Yes, Master! It is all I desire. To serve you for eternity, to share in your power and your curse."

The Count's eyes glowed red in the darkness. "Patience, my pet. Your time will come. For now, continue to be my eyes and ears in the world of the living. Bring me more souls to feast upon, and perhaps... perhaps I shall grant you your heart's desire."

With a swirl of his cape, Dracula vanished, leaving Renfield alone once more. The madman hugged himself, rocking back and forth as he whispered promises to the flies buzzing around his head. He would prove himself worthy, no matter the cost. For in Dracula's eternal night, Renfield had found his twisted purpose.
