Chapter 1: Prologue

Chapter Text

There are 3 different realms of this world. The first realm was named Vesuvia, after the many volcanoes of the land. The second, in the middle of the great map, is b-ring. This realm is surrounded by water, with smaller islands around the mainland. The last realm is Nexus, a large technological civilization.

Milco is a resident of b-ring, and the right hand man of upcoming king Conx. In this world, almost everyone has a certain ability unique to them. Milco can transform into things, but it takes him a while to do so. Unlike most, Conx does not have an ability, and he needs to get one or else his position of next in line may be given to someone else.

I wake up, tired from 2 days of relentless planning. I head downstairs for breakfast, and a chance to do more planning with Conx. By the time I get down, Conx is already waiting for me.

“Hey man, I’ve got some exciting news for you!”

“What is it?” I say in response.

“I found a book in a secret passage of the library, and I think I know how to get some magic of my own!”

I’m a little nervous about what he has to say, because I trust the king’s judgment more than Conx’s.

“What is it?”

He shows me a book with words I can’t even comprehend. I stare confusedly at it for a few seconds before asking him what this is supposed to mean.

“It’s ancient language, but I know a few words and this mentions gaining abilities”

“So how do we figure out how to get you one if you can’t read the rest?”

“Easy!” Conx says, “I know a guy who can translate this for me, and from there illl need you to do the rest of the journey for me”

“So.. what’s in it for me?”

“You get to help your best friend, of course!”

“..I’m not about to risk my place here at the castle for nothing, you know that right?”

“You should the look on your face,” Conx laughs, but I don’t really find it all that funny.
