Chapter Text

Mic Arlin had a lot of pride in what his organization had accomplished. He had climbed into the organization to be one of the people to call the shots. He was trusted to be in command of multiple goons and was responsible for their actions, achievements, and mistakes. This was a highly respected position in the underground and he was very proud of himself for getting himself this far. That being said, the organization had a problem.

Namely in the form of the FBI putting one of their best teams of profilers ever on their case. This complicated Mic’s simple life of leadership quite a bit. Just last week, one of their hideouts was raided by the BAU and he had lost 3 goons to imprisonment, and one was shot dead after saving his brother.

The agent that had killed one of their men was called Derek Morgan. Mic often claimed that he didn’t care about the people working under him, that they were nothing more than replaceable manpower to him. But despite his words, they actually meant far more to him than he would ever admit. He felt responsible for the death of the young man, his brother had come to him, begging for a funeral, and for once Mic had felt guilty enough to grant him his wish.

It also gave him the idea to plan his revenge. If someone thought they would get away with murdering one of his men, they had something else coming for them. He didn’t care what government they worked for.

So, after thinking his plan through, he had given the order to kidnap ‘Morgan’. Now the boss of the criminal organization thought it was very obvious which person they meant. They of course meant the sturdy black man who worked for the FBI, the government organization that they had actually, you know, a history with. But no, because Mic forgot one key detail when planning the kidnapping. And that was that everyone who worked under him was fucking stupid .

Instead of seeing Derek Morgan being dragged to their hideout to be locked up and tortured, his goon walked in with a fragile-looking blond girl in his arms.

What the actual fuck?

The girl was kicking and screaming, throwing insults at the man who had apparently, for some reason kidnapped her. To her credit, she seemed to have done a number on the goon, who was only holding onto her by a thread.

"I have Morgan, sir."

He said after spotting his boss, who was so confused that at this point he just had to laugh. How could someone above the age of 6 make this big of a mistake?

"I have honestly no idea how you managed this but it is almost impressive." The goon smiled in confusion at the praise, not realizing it was entirely sarcastic. Typical .

"How on earth have you survived this long? Honestly if you mistakenly kidnap someone then that's one thing, but this!” He made a wide gesture with his hands in the direction of the girl.

“I asked for Morgan. Derek Morgan. The man who killed your brother last week. The black man from the FBI. Jerry, this is a whole white girl. Why would you think this was anything near what I wanted?"

The goon seemed to pale as he realized his mistake. Honestly, though, how do you even make this mistake? The blond girl seemed to have listened in. Well, not like she had any other choice, as the goon was still holding onto her for dear life.

"But this is Morgan! She works at the same government thing as the others on that team! You had to have meant her, sir."

This seemed to piss the hostage girl (who was also Morgan?) off even more. She seemed exhausted and really fucking angry. Mic sighed, preparing for what he got himself into this time.

"I'm CSI, you dumbass!” She screeched. Oh God.

“We don't even work on the same cases as the feds! I don't even know a Derek Morgan. My headquarters is in Los Angeles ! We don't even work in the same state. Actually, their workplace is in Virginia , our buildings are literally on the other side of the country!"

As she kept screaming at the scared goon. The boss realized just how fucked the situation actually was. How fucked they were. Not only did they make an enemy out of the FBI's most skilled unit, but now they apparently kidnapped a girl working for the CSI. If those two teamed up- oh he was fucked.

His voice got dangerous as he looked at the man that made this mistake.

“HOW? How in God’s green earth did you manage to fuck up this badly! How did you even manage to kidnap a girl from LA and bring her here? That’s more than a 36-hour drive! Please! No, please enlighten me on how you have managed this!”

The goon flinched back at the loud yelling. He seemed to have finally registered just how mad he was. He stuttered some quiet words, it was pretty clear Mic won’t get a clear answer out of the man anytime soon so he just sighed and contemplated his options.

He looked at the girl and quickly found her staring back at him. She had a fierce fury in her eyes and if Mic was being honest, it kind of scared him. She was here now. He couldn’t just let her go . That would be ridiculous, she would just go tell one of her government supervisors about his organization and the whole thing would fall apart. All the hard work, sleepless nights and money that he put in this would all go to waste, and if he was lucky he would spend the rest of his days depressed in prison. He couldn’t allow that. He still had a life to live, people to protect, and revenge to take. He sighed deeply again.

“You! Take the girl to the cell that we prepared, we will put her there until I have an idea of how to clean up this mess!” He commanded the goon, who looked relieved at being dismissed. He started dragging the blonde away and she started screaming and throwing insults even louder than when she came in. Trying to squirm her way out of the deadly grip the man had on her. Luckily that was one thing, the goon may be stupid but at least he could hold his own in a fight.

He took out his phone and dialed a familiar number.

“James? Yeah, it’s me. I need you to pick someone up for me. Yeah. The name is Derek Morgan. Thanks, talk to you later.”

Yes Mic Arlin is an anagram for criminal because I'm uncreative and I thought it was funny-
