Work Text:

Stepping out of the lecture hall, Jihoon groaned. The entire lesson had been a constant state of drowsiness; but extra credit was worth it. Soonyoung, his best friend, bounded ahead of him, seemingly energetic even after the draining lecture.

"Hoonie, how does grabbing a coffee sound? I'm so tired." Soonyoung suddenly braked and asked.

"Doesn't seem like it." Jihoon muttered, but still agreed.

"Oh Seungcheol-ah!"

Jihoon's head whipped around, eyes landing on a familiar grinning face, along with Seungkwan and Hansol.

He raised his hand to give a shy wave, but was blocked by Hansol, who looked delighted to see him.

"Hyuunnnggg class was so boring and seungkwan was being so annoying!"

Jihoon smiled lightly at that; this was something he had been hearing for the past year. Seemed like some things never changed.

Jihoon broke eye contact momentarily, searching for Seungcheol yet again...there he was.

Seungcheol, standing in a corner, watching at the scene unfold before him. Seungcheol who looked exceptionally good in that crisp button up-

Seungcheol caught him red handed and offered a soft smile. Jihoon blushed, mind still stuck on how those pants completed the look so perfectly.

"Hyung, are you even listening to me?" Hansol frowned at Jihoon.

"Oh sorry what were you saying...?"

Hansol pouted.

"You weren't listening the whole time?" He then proceeded to repeat his dramatic experience of Seungkwan accidentally spilling americano on his shirt.

Seungkwan and Soonyoung were chatting away animatedly by a corner, and Hansol was waving his hands around trying to act out the whole incident, but all Jihoon could think about was Seungcheol.

Seungcheol with that sharp nose and beautiful eyes, Seungcheol-

"Hyung.." Hansol sighed. "Go talk to him. You want to. Don't deny it. You couldn't be more obvious unless you broadcasted it on the news."

Jihoon blushed. "I am not!" He said indignantly. Hansol just gave him a small smirk and a light push Seungcheol's way.

Approaching Seungcheol, Jihoon gave Seungcheol a small, sad smile.

And Seungcheol gave one back.

His eye bags look really bad. Did his mother scream at him again?

Jihoon felt his heart break for Seungcheol again, the nights they texted and talked about simply everything replaying in his mind.

Jihoon opened his arms, searching-

Searching if Seungcheol wanted it too, if Seungcheol was going to accept it, accept him.

And he did.

Seungcheol opened his arms too, and it was seamless.

Jihoon felt like he was melting into it, and squeezed just a little, to provide what comfort he could.

At that moment, it felt like Seungcheol was all that mattered, and maybe, just maybe, Jihoon was all that mattered to Seungcheol too.

They fit so perfectly, and Jihoon felt so at home there in his arms.

Then they pulled away and it was over all too quickly, but that feeling of understanding and love and comfort and safety never left.

"Thank you for that, Hoonie."

Jihoon smiled. "Anytime"

"Also, you give great hugs."

Jihoon was dizzy the whole way to the cafe.
