Work Text:

“I know it ain’t my little sister on the phone!” Derek’s smile could have cut glass, he could feel you rolling your eyes on the other end of the line.

“Yes, it’s me, hello, what do you want?”

He was laughing over your annoyed tone; he was used to your attitude by now.

“I just wanted to check in princess, see how you are, wonder what you’re up to, isn’t that allowed?”

“No.”

“Alright, alright.”

He could hear the rustle of bed sheets but thought nothing of it, you liked to sleep in, everyone knew that.

“It’s like nine-oh-three, I thought your early ‘look-who’s-been-killed-today' meetings always started on time?”

He laughed again. He was walking the hallway outside Penelope’s office, watching the way his boots contrasted the FBI grade painted floor. His coffee was cold, but he wanted to keep you on the line as soon as possible.

“Yeah usually, boss man is running a little late today, told us to push it back ‘til half past, so I thought I’d check in.”

“And you thought it was safe to call me before mid-day?”

“Hey, you answered, didn’t you?”

“Yeah, well you caught me as I was kicking my hooker out.”

Derek started to laugh but it was cut off as his shoes squeaked to a halt on the floor.

He thought about the sheets that started to ruffle as he called.

“Y/N do you have someone there?”

“Would you race over here if I did?”

“I’m serious.”

“You sound it.”

“Y/N-”

“Listen Derbear, I gotta go, I’ll call you later.”

She hung up and Derek did the only thing he could think of. He marched into Penelope’s office and started pacing.

The next half hour was a real treat for her, trying to explain to Derek that his little sister was a grown woman, and she could have men over if she wanted.

Derek stormed back out.

“You’d better get round there; you’re holding the round table up.”

You sat up as SSA Aaron Hotchner was tying his shoes at the bottom of your bed.

“Was that Morgan?”

“Yeah, sounded like he was pacing the hall.”

“Patience is less of a virtue and more of a suggestion to your brother.”

“I’m aware, when he heard you get out of bed, I thought he was gonna race round here.”

Hotch laughed in an almost nervous way. “He wouldn’t invade your privacy like that would he?”

You didn’t answer, kneeling behind him to wrap your arms around his broad chest, probably messing up his tie in the process.

“Do you have to go?”

“They’ll send a S.W.A.T. team if I don’t.”

You laughed a little and reached round to give him a kiss. He twisted his body and before long you were sitting on his lap, making out and grinding your hips down.

He was trying to talk between breaths.

“I have- to – go.”

“You work ten minutes away; you have some time.”

“Not for the things I want to do to you.”

The heat raced through your body, but you knew he was right, you loved being with him and treasuring the times he was here rather than on a jet somewhere, but you didn’t want to rush anything.

“Okay.”

You let him go and he stood, badge, gun and tie, all perfect.

“I’ll see you soon.”

“You better.

It was a mantra you repeated every time he left you. Praying he would come home safe to you.

You settled back into bed, dozing off lightly before being rudely interrupted by a cellphone that wasn’t yours.

“Shit!”

“Hotch!”

He checked his watch and noted he still had a few minutes before he was officially late.

“What?” He barreled past JJ and made his way to his office.

“I called you! The case has been changed, Florida doesn’t need us anymore there’s something more pressing here, we’re staying homebound for the now.”

“Excellent, go tell the team, I’ll be through in a minute.”

He needed to go into his office and get himself straight before he saw the team, they were good profilers, excellent profilers, the best, which meant they would see his messy hair, slightly crooked tie and know exactly what he was up to before work. Not to mention the erection that hadn’t quite finished going down yet.

By the time he made it to the round table, the team was already discussing habits and weapons, in three minutes he had missed loads.

“Hotch let’s get started man, assignments.”

Aaron nodded and patted his suit down before taking a seat, he was halfway to the chair when he realised he didn’t have his cell phone on him.

“Shit. Listen guys I’m a little out of sorts this morning, can you guys sort yourselves and I’ll get up to speed in my office.”

He walked away with his tablet in his hands, barely paying attention to Dave rattling off morgue addresses and crime scene plans as his exit music.

He’s turned most of his office upside down when he realises where he must have left his phone. Irritating but not life-ending, he would just stay safe today and get it from you later.

Maybe he could get a lot of things from you later.

You had been in the FBI building before so luckily it was easy enough just to get through without questions. You were just sent on your way with a visitors' badge, they assumed you were here to see your brother.

It wasn’t that Aaron didn’t want people to know about the two of you, it was you. You were unsure how your brother would react, if he would feel betrayed. There was also the problem of the nature of your relationship, neither of you had defined it yet, you were fairly sure you loved Aaron, and you hoped he felt the same way, but you would never know, he was never there long enough to discuss it.

Your walk through the corridors was starting to mirror more of a march, you slowed your steps.

You were so focused on your steps that you didn’t notice the figure walking towards you. You were in his arms before your brain caught up.

“Oomph.”

“Heyyyy sis! Came to see me did you?”

You were surprised but shook it off.

“What are you doing here?”

If he noticed your high pitch, he didn’t comment on it.

He laughed, too happy to see you. “I work here silly. What are you doing here?”

“I just came to-” You watched Aaron round the corner, hoping the blood rushing up and down your body wasn’t audible to your brother. “I just came to drop something off.”

Morgan followed your eyes. “Hey Hotch! You remember my little sister?”

HE looked unsure, as if his head hadn’t been between your leg mere hours ago. “Yes.”

“She just came by to drop something off, what do you got?”

You turned your attention back to Aaron, looking at the way he wouldn’t meet your eye, suddenly annoyed that you felt caught or in the wrong just for visiting your boyfriend at work.

“You uh-” Now or never. “ You left your cell at my house, I was just gonna leave it in your office, I didn’t know you’d be here.” Understand me. I didn’t do this on purpose. I promise, but now that it’s happened?

I uh, I was just going to drop by and get it on my way back.”

“Oh” Why hadn’t you thought of that? Because he has a son and you knew he would get to the office first, he needed his phone. “ Sorry.”

“Don’t be.”

Derek’s silence had reached its peak and apparently his brain had gotten around what was happening in front of him. He might have tried to piece together something more innocent first, but it was the first time that he had ever seen his boss blush.

“WHOA!”

“Derek.”

“WHOAAAAAA!” He was walking backwards, trying to avoid his own profiling skills.

“Morgan please, we have a case we should go.”

“Was HE the guy you were kicking out this morning?!”

“Well, the kicking out was a joke but yea-”

“Oh Aaron, tell me my baby sister isn’t the reason you were late for this morning's meeting.”

“Yes, but it was-”

“No. No!”

“My office. Now.”

You watched your boyfriend walk away with your brother in tow and just stood there, vaguely amused until you heard a voice run round the corner to tag you.

“I said now Miss Morgan!”

He would pay for that later.

“What’s going on?”

The rest of the team was staring up at Hotch’s closed door, hearing Morgan’s muffled screams through the blinds.

“I think Derek found out about his sister and Hotch.”

“What? You didn’t tell me they were- how did you know, and I didn’t?!”

Rossi shrugged. “I’m here as much as he is, he can’t sneak someone in without me noticing, trust me kid, they ain’t quiet.
